GOP Freshmen Will Call for Congressional Investigation of Planned Parenthood

posted at 8:32 pm on July 13, 2011 by

Reacting to a new report about the taxpayer-funded activities of Planned Parenthood, Rep. Renee Ellmers has warned her House colleagues of “systemic fraud and abuse” by the nation’s largest abortion provider.

A first-term North Carolina Republican, Ellmers will be joined by fellow GOP freshman Rep. Rep. Randy Hultgren of Illinois and Rep. Bill Huizenga of Michigan, as well as third-term Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-Colorado) at a Capitol Hill press conference Thursday to express their concerns about evidence of wrongdoing contained in The Case for Investigating Planned Parenthood, a new 181-page report by Americans United for Life.

In a letter to fellow Congress members, Ellmers wrote:

“I invite my colleagues to review the findings of this Report and to join us on Thursday as we voice our concerns about the issues raised by AUL’s Report and express our renewed commitment to seeking accountability for taxpayers and for investigating whether taxpayers are funding an organization that misuses government funding and violates state laws.
“I will be hosting a press conference on Thursday, July 14, 2011 together with Rep. Randy Hultgren to discuss the AUL Report’s extensive documentation of the systemic fraud and abuse inherent within Planned Parenthood and the need for Congress to investigate how Planned Parenthood is using federal money.”

Thursday’s noon press conference in room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building is expected to be the first step toward congressional hearings into taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.

The Democrats must be ecstatic about the chance to not talk about the economy and instead talk about what motivates their base and pulls in independents.

Yes, let’s talk about the leftist base, those willing to shut down government/hold pay to our military, over forcing taxpayers to pay for other people to murder their own children while covering up rape/abuse of women and girls. Please, let’s talk about just who is driven by their immoral ideology. When a majority poll as pro-life, I think it is a great time to talk about it.

Also, unlike some, I think most of us can talk about more than one thing at a time, especially when they are linked, as in, our economy stinks, we have no money and yet the leftist Democrats want to use money we don’t have to pay for murdering babies while covering up for the rape/abuse of women and girls… Yep, that has to be a winner for Democrats with ‘independents’ assuming ‘independents’ only care about forcing each other to pay to murder babies and cover up for rape/abuse of minor women.

Not only should PP be defunded, they should be investigated and those people responsible should be brought to justice for their illegal activity.

Planned Parenthood saves this country much money in terms of welfare and prisons. Having even more teenage girls with babies is the last thing we need for this country both fiscally and morally. I just don’t get how anyone could even remotely consider themselves pro-family, if they want even more children raising children.

But my major point is that we stand a good chance to win the next election on the economy, but if this next election is about abortion and gay marriage, say hello to Obama’s second term.

I don’t really have all day to engage in a back and forth on the contradiction in claiming PP wants to discourage teens from becoming mothers. What they want is to murder the babies that result from the failure of the contraceptives they promote. It’s big money for them. What PP does is encourage teens and pre-teens to engage in sex and then ‘takes care’ of the consequences of that action by killing the child that results from it. They’ve made billions on the murder of the children that result in the very activity they encourage through all sorts of ‘sex education’ programs. It is well documented, from the literature they disseminate at world wide girl scout seminars, online, etc…

I recently read a study that found that far fewer teens are sexually active than PP would like us all to believe, and rather than encouraging celibacy in already celibate teens, they push teaching ‘safe sex’ which we all know is oxymoronic, at least those of us with half an ounce of intelligence and honesty. In pushing the notion that ‘every one is doing it, so we need to teach you how’, they encourage the very behavior that results in all those teen pregnancies you so despise, and who comes to the rescue? PP… it is a vicious cycle and the victims are dead babies and grieving mothers. PP is largely responsible, along with you, thuja, for promoting them.

And don’t accuse me of wanting children to raise children just because I don’t want them murdering the babies that result from them doing exactly what I, unlike your beloved PP, encourage them not to do.

My major point is that human life is more important than the stinking economy. If we have no respect for it, our economy and country will sink further and further. Voting Obama out isn’t going to save us if we continue to wallow in our filth. He isn’t the cause of our sorry state; he is a result of it.

Also, abortion and ‘gay marriage’ aren’t the losing issues you’d like to make them out to be, as evidenced by the polls showing more pro-life and the fact that even in California, when put to a vote, ‘gay marriage’ loses.

You are clearly pro-abortion and ‘gay marriage’, so please be honest about it and stop cowering behind the ‘we’ll lose if we even mention this’ nonsense.

The thing is that PP has changed their core mission to one of making money. Their “safe sex” ads, prominently featuring a banana, fool exactly nobody as to their intent.

Much better than PP’s wink-wink-nudge-nudge ‘education’ is to give teenagers a harsh look at the reality of teen parenting. I’ve seen it done.
