What if the Birthers are right?

posted at 5:53 pm on April 20, 2011 by

Inside the political vacuum, the headline story on Drudge was none other than Obama’s birth certificate.  It’s the story that just won’t go away–and it won’t go away until Obama himself releases the long-form document.  But with the coming release on May 17 of Jerome Corsi’s “Where’s the Birth Certificate”continued questions will either be answered or remain inconclusive.  However, no matter what the media says about the issue, people are curious as Corsi’s book hit the Amazon charts hard and fast today.

While I won’t rehash all of the issues here, I will note, for the record, that the left started the birther issue (and continually attacked McCain) and Obama is also a McCain birther as he co-sponsored the Senate Resolution declaring McCain a natural born citizen–clearly understanding the difference between being a US citizen and being a natural born US citizen and its importance.

Now that that’s out of the way, I’ve been watching the brouhaha that Donald Trump is causing and he is not backing down–that’s obvious.  But during these interviews, it makes me wonder why the MSM so aggressively attacks anyone who even dares come close to this issue–even now–after they seemingly put it to rest.  What are they afraid of–what might they find?   And was Oprah wrong again?

Another question that I’d like to float:  Is Obama intentionally withholding his long-form birth certificate to continue to perpetrate the notion that those who question him are crazy giving the  media more ammo against the birthers and the right?  It wouldn’t surprise me, but with Corsi’s evidence that may not be the case.

Finally, has the MSM, out of its allegiance to the Democrat party, missed the biggest story in the history of this country?  And one thing you can be assured, the left will dissect and fact check Corsi’s book until the pages fall out, but will they be able to defend their position on the record?  What they do with the information in Corsi’s book will probably need an extra large bucket of popcorn with butter because dare I ask this:  What if the Birthers are right?

Sorry, you’re article is inaccurate on one very important point. You state that it was “the left” that started the so-called Birther issue. I have no idea where you are getting your information from, but that is completely wrong.

It was those of us on the libertarian (anti-IslamoFascist) right who first raised the issue way back in early 2007. Pamela Geller, for example, of Atlas Shrugs was way out ahead on it. We at LibertarianRepublican.net were reporting on Obama’s Kenyan birth and his strong ties to his cousin Raila Odinga in Kenya way back in 2007.

I believe other anti-IslamoFascist websites like Weasel Zippers, Astute Bloggers, Jawa and Infidel Blogger’s Alliance were also reporting on such stories in 2007.

I suggest you correct the record.

We are not birthers. We are Constitutionalists. We rely upon proof, not supposition. We have no idea where The Undocumented and Unvetted President was born. We do know that the media has chosen to be in his pocket. They are not just biased, they are worse than useless.

I am looking at the MSM specifically and how the left went ballistic over McCain’s birth certificate–and would not let it go. For the record, I used to write at TAB and am very familiar with everyone’s work you mentioned. For the purposes of this article, if you read the link, it very well documents the leftist media’s birtherism quite nicely.

What if the Birthers are right?

Oh come now Susanne. We aren’t all “Birther-Birther”s. I would really like to see his passport and transcripts.

You get the passport, you get a bunch of info… because you can’t get a U.S. passport without a BC. You see the transcripts, you see where/if there was finacial aid.. what type, etc.

See where I am going with this?

upinak on April 20, 2011 at 7:12 PM

This is the fault of the MSM and the machine that OK’d his candidacy without any vetting whatsoever.

We had Bush’s and Kerry’s college grades, their histories, etc. during that campaign, but now we still do not know things we should have been informed of in 2008.

Where was he really born? What grades did he receive if he is SO smart? How did he pay for TWO Ivy league college degree’s if he was from a broken and poor home? Who were his friends? He taught Law? Really? Where is a syllabus? What about former students and their review of his teaching? How did he teach and what? Etc., etc., etc…..

Probably not, since expensive efforts to seal records began so early. It might make the media’s task easier, but if they lack ammo, they’ll manufacture it anyhow.

The MSM was rabid over McCain’s bc for a short time, until the issue was put to rest. It’s more likely that this was the early strategic move by the left.

There are so many questions that are still unanswered. I would like to know what’s up with his social security numbers (yes, that is plural, there are several).

What if the Birthers are right?

Then the best case scenario would be President Joe Biden without the Obama baggage going into 2012 clean. And some very PO’ed Obama supporters looking for payback. Options go downhill very fast from there.

What if the Birthers are right?

All the laws he signed are void, along with all of his judicial appoints, including The Court, where Sotomayor and Kagen will have to resign, and any other permanent post.

Hillary supporters started the birther thing. A democrat filed the first suit against Obama to prove he is a citizen. This was during the Primaries. How soon they forget…..

I think a lot of folks who were wild to vote for Obama in 2008 would stay home for Sleepy Joe in 2012.

I still think that the issue is that his religion is probably listed as “Muslim”. But, but…if he’s not actually a citizen? Hoo boy. Poo, meet fan. And what an interesting Constitutional crisis THAT would be.

They wouldn’t nominate Biden next year; they’d nominate Hillary and probably bar Joe from going anywhere south of Virginia on Amtrak next summer to the DNC Convention unless he agreed to take his demotion and follow the script as planned.

jon1979 on April 20, 2011 at 10:31 PM

I suspect all the laws he signed, Administrative decrees and appointments he made would be just the beginning of the problems.

Having formerly been in politics, the union variety in fact, most if what we are told, what we see them doing or saying, is just the dog and pony show for the public. I did that many times with the cameras and reporters taking it all in. There are a lot of things we don’t know about and all those things, the “stuff” he has done behind closed doors, the things they know is in the things he is hiding,is probably a bigger fear on both sides of the isle than just the consequences of his the law he signed and appointments he made. It would not just stop at his desk either, but extend across his cabinet, his system of Czars, and Congress itself.

What is incredible is that the birth certificate is only one of several questions of his documents, each of which would have the same effect if the truth came out about what he is hiding and why he is has gone to such great lengths to hide them.

I fully expect sometime in 2012, too close to the election to verify anything, which is a standard trick in these types of situations; he will suddenly come up with what appears to be a long form Certification of Live Birth that will be accepted as valid by the chosen experts who examine it. It will be found in some odd file cabinet in a storage room where it somehow was misplaced. A hospital will come up with records equally misplaced and a doctor that is no loner alive, if it matters.

Our best hope is to get him out of office before he does something even more damageing to our nation in his efforts to change it into the socialist nation he and those like him, want. We need a president elected after him that understands the truth about Obama, even as he denies it, to give him time to negate as much of the damage as possible before it unravels, to get our nation on enough of a strong financial footing that we can survive the backlash of the world questioning how we can be trusted and at the same time, insure that our enemies understand that a socalist community organizer is no longer working for them.

Stop listening to Medved. It’s not idiotic to wonder why a guy keeps a document under wraps if he has nothing to hide.

SusanAnne bravely goes were many have gone before . . .

The long form birth certificate is just part of the lack of vetting by the media for Comrade Obama. Although I believe that Obama was born in the U.S.A., there is information on the Long Form that could prove embarrassing to citizen Barack. What I hope is addressed by Corsi’s book is:

1. Was there a name change affidavit attached to the long form? (My name was changed, I have the attachment)

2. Why the secrecy on his grades at Occidental?

3. Was he a presented as a foreign student to game the system?

4. Other than a hideously written poem, why has Obama not released anything written in college or law school?

5. There is the matter of that Connecticut social security number.

6. How did he get to Pakistan? A. U.S. passport?

7. Who paid for his college and law school?

8. When did Barack Sr. and Barack’s mother get married? When did they divorce?

Come on, America. I know this is not as relevant today as it was in 2007, but it is relevant for 2012.

(Love ya, S.H.)

BigAlSouth on April 21, 2011 at 7:05 AM

For your reading pleasure, The young Barack waxes poetic-like:

“Underground”:

Under water grottos, caverns

Filled with apes

That eat figs.

Stepping on the figs

That the apes

Eat, they crunch.

The apes howl, bare

Their fangs, dance . . .

This is your brain on drugs . . .

9. Was his father a US Citizen?

JoeDel on April 21, 2011 at 7:12 AM

10. Was his mother old enough and in the US long enough to also help him qualify as natural born citizen?

I would like to see his college applications. Probably a lot of the missing pieces are on those applications. I also think his passport will give away a lot. Especially which one did he use to get into Pakistan?

karenhasfreedom on April 21, 2011 at 9:25 AM

For me, his mom was an American citizen, thus he’s an American citizen. However, with his “negative rights” view of the US Constitution, he’s not American, he’s anti-American. And his religion isn’t Muslim, it’s marxism of a fascist variation (there are lots of variations of Christianity, same is true of marxism.) He believes in the State, not the Individual.

There’s enough to go after Dear Liar without getting into the birth certificate nonsense. Though if it ever turns up he’s not who he says he is, . . .

rbj on April 21, 2011 at 10:54 AM

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the man who made a career out of getting his opponents tossed off the ballot on technicalities was, himself, tossed on a technicality.

Still, while I think he is hiding something, it may end up being politically poisonous for the right to pursue this. The “easy button” is always tempting (as it was with Clinton’s perjury & obstruction) but we may end up with a pyrrhic victory. Better, IMO, to back the 3-4 strongest candidates, back the winner of the primaries, and beat the guy straight-up on his record.

Whatever the crimes of leftists, Republicans are always finding excuses NOT to hold them accountable. More than half the population is fed up. They will respect Republicans who do the right thing, even at risk of the MSM’s vomit.

Impeaching Clinton was the principled action. It was not easy, but he was impeached. I don’t think he enjoyed that much. The national situation is far different today, and the sane part of the electorate will be energized by Republicans who defy cultural Marxism.

Trump is for Trump, but the popularity of his self-interested truth-telling demonstrates this view.

I have my questions, ie who’s the daddy (see American Thinker, i.e. Davis is the father), his passports, SSNs, grades and financial passage to the ivy leagues.

But let’s put the religion thing to rest because according to this 1963 LFBC, there’s no box for religion.

I’m definitely one of those who think that there probably is no real conspiracy–I do think Obama was born in Hawaii. What I don’t understand is all the hullabaloo on the left and why it feels as though they’re keeping this ball rolling by NOT addressing the issue.

Another question that I’d like to float: Is Obama intentionally withholding his long-form birth certificate to continue to perpetrate the notion that those who question him are crazy giving the media more ammo against the birthers and the right?

This is a very good question and one that I’ve asked many, many times. And it’s not just giving the media ammo, but it’s also giving all Obama supporters/Democrats ammunition against the Republicans. After all, if your opponents are insane or, at least, can be made out that way and people end up believing it, the obvious choice is for people to vote for you.

Isn’t this a tactic used by others in history?

kippras on April 22, 2011 at 12:29 PM

I don’t know, if I were a public figure and people continued to question where I was born, I would pull out my birth certificate in a second and show it to the press. That would be the end of the story. Case closed.

Even my wife, who is a life-long Dem, wonders the same thing. She has become disillusioned with The One.

Polling data suggest that this “strategy” would be idiotic because:

1. More people are now “birthers” than previously.
2. No polling data exists to support the notion that this “helps” Obama.
