Obama’s “Enemies” List Includes You

posted at 12:44 pm on October 27, 2010 by

Are Americans who oppose the policies of the Obama administration enemies of the president and by extension the state? Obama seems to think so. In a shocking audio clip captured at The Blaze, the president can be heard telling an unidentified interlocutor that

[i]f Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, ‘We’re gonna punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us’ … then I think it’s gonna be harder. [Emphasis added]

So much for the antiquated notion that the president of the United States is elected to serve all Americans, and not just those who voted for him or accept his current views.

In a separate address to an audience in Rhode Island, Obama made a similarly outrageous statement. Drawing upon his tired “car in the ditch” metaphor for perhaps the ten thousandth time, he told voters that now that progress has been made[!],

we can’t have special interests sitting shotgun. We gotta have middle class families up in front. We don’t mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back.[Emphasis added]

At least the president deserves credit for openly admitting that he views those in opposition to his policies as second-class citizens. During the year-long debate on health care reform, he forced the Republican minority in Congress to “sit in the back,” refusing to entertain even one of their ideas, then accused them of obstructionism when he couldn’t cobble together enough votes from his own party to get the bill using approved measures.

When George W. Bush sat in the Oval Office, opponents of his policies obscenely burned the president in effigy, then excused their actions by claiming that dissent is the highest form of patriotism. Now we are told by no less than the president himself than even peaceful dissent is a no-no. Disconnect, anyone?

It’s because at heart he’s a fascist.
Must demonize you’re opponents before you can lock them up or worse.

It has been clear from the day bho was elected how and what he thought of citizens in America! All of us. He thinks he is so above us, he can do as he dang well wants. So far, with the help of the d’s, he has been able to get what he wants. If not, he appoints czars or uses his EO pen to get it done. I sure pray we can stop bho from doing any more harm and the r’s will be a ‘no’ bunch!

Wow. Just imagine the media storm that would have ensued had a conservative suggested that President Obama, the first black president, has “gotta sit in back” after the GOP takes back the House?

kgs_mvs: I can’t say that didn’t cross my mind as well, but I thought maybe it was my own dirty pictures.

Dear Mr Portnoy, you don’t really think that politicians, in office or not, refrain from discussing political opponents in terms of friends and enemies, do you?

You’re not trying to suggest that Obama is doing anything even slightly different from any other president, are you?

You’re not trying to take Obama’s speech and somehow equate it with the “enemies list” of Nixon, are you? You don’t fail to understand the difference between metaphor and the legally impermissible actions employed by Nixon, I trust.

Seriously silly bit of indulging your own sense of Obama as enemy and making a false equation of speech and action.

Obama’s “Enemies” List Includes You

These are the same people who want to control your healthcare – through the IRS.

These are the same people who want to control your basic civil rights.

These are the same people who want to control how much money you can make.

If the Republicans don’t win control of Congress on Tuesday….

I would never do that. He’s post-partisan, ‘member?

Yep.

No President since Nixon has publically considered his political opposition “enemies”.

You are wrong.

It is unimaginable that any President would speak like this! He hates US, normal Americans, with a passion. He hates us because we deny him power over us. It is personal for him. He has declared war on the people he is supposed to SERVE! His delusions of grandeur are simply out of hand! He needs to be knocked down a peg or two.

Obama should resign.

According to NPR’s ombudsman:

Williams was doing the kind of stereotyping in a public platform that is dangerous to a democracy. It puts people in categories, as types – not as individuals with much in common despite their differences.

Doesn’t the President realize that he’s engaging in the same categorization of people that threatens our democracy?

petunia
you might find that Reagan described people opposed to his small-government theories as “crocodiles”
