Slackers get naked for Obamacare

posted at 1:46 pm on October 7, 2010 by

Campus Progress Action and Young Invincibles have a genius new video that is sure to change millions of minds on Obamacare. They took a bunch of young, college-aged slackers, made them get naked, and then complained about being taken off of Mommy and Daddy’s health care plans.

No, really.

What’s funny is how they say “some” want to repeal Obamacare, and they’re talking about it “on the campaign trail”. Yes, because it’s just conservative politicians who are trying to be mean! Of course, the majority of Americans want Obamacare repealed, but what does that matter? We’ve got lazy moochers to take care of!

I’m sure that the parents of these leeches are super duper proud to see their offspring brag about having to rely on Mommy and Daddy because they can’t get a job. So basically, all of us productive Americans should shoulder the burden of taking care of these unproductive spoiled brats. Nice. I bet that’ll be a really successful movement. It’s pathetic — these slackers really do just expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter, don’t they? Free health care, free jobs, free housing… but I doubt a single one of them would be willing to do the work to earn those things. They just expect it to be given to them, without the slightest comprehension of how we can afford to give them all those things.

Oh, and you know, if health care is so important, there’s an easy way to get guaranteed health care. Join the military.

But that’s just too much work, and it’s icky too, isn’t it?

“Free health care”? On their parents’ plans?

Is that “free” as in the parents pay for it? Or “free” as in their parents’ employers end up paying — and won’t have so much in next year’s raises or this year’s bonus pool? Or “free” as in taxpayers…you know, higher-income people their parents’ age…will foot the bill? Or maybe “free” as in corporations will “suck it up”, and take the hit to their stock price…which means all the pension funds and 401K’s that own that stock will take the hit?

I just want to make sure I’ve got the right “free” here.

True, but I really don’t want anyone signing up just for that reason.

But I agree the “strip for Obamacare” ad campaign is silly.

I thought that the military didn’t take slackers.

Don’t be too sure. They’re relaxing standards all over the board. To be fair, enlistment is becoming a serious crisis.

Perhaps they could take that striptease to the club scene where garter and thong tips will earn them enough to pay off some of the college loans they’ll probably default on later, with money left over for insurance. I hear the IRS doesn’t often hear about that type income, so wow, a double win!

Oh, wait, nevermind. They’re not the types to take finance or economics classes.

I think some of them did try that. Those are the ones that are unemployed.
