Ground Zero Mosque Supporter to Holocaust Survivor: “Obviously He Didn’t Learn His Lesson”

The running meme on the Left has been that Americans who oppose the Ground Zero mosque are bigoted, anti-Islamic hatemongers. No attention is paid to the hate often present on the left, by the same activists who are usually the first to claim racism, bigotry, or violence. Interesting to see is their almost lockstep defense of Muslims and the Ground Zero mosque; meanwhile, they completely ignore the anti-Semitism that is so commonplace among Islamofascists. (Take, for example, the appalling practice of indoctrinating Muslim children to hate Jews.) At a rally attended by people who both supported and opposed the Ground Zero mosque, though, one activist took the anti-Semitism to a disturbing new level.

When confronted by the 82-year-old Holocaust survivor, the Ground Zero supporter went ballistic — swearing and tossing anti-Semitic insults. He even shouted that the man didn’t learn his lesson in the Holocaust. Here is the appalling footage (caution for VERY strong language):

Interestingly, according to this leftist nutjob, opposing the Ground Zero mosque is the same thing as murdering millions of innocent people because of their religion. Ironic, considering that this is exactly what Islamofascists do in the name of jihad? Anyone who isn’t a Muslim is an infidel and should be brutally murdered. Jihad against the Jews is especially widespread among Islamic terrorists.

The leader of the Ground Zero mosque, Imam Rauf, is no moderate Muslim either. He’s an advocate for Sharia law in America, even calling America a “Sharia complaint state”. The majority of Americans have plenty of reasons to oppose the Ground Zero mosque. Most of the people who oppose it understand that Muslims have the right to build a mosque wherever they want; they just wish that they would have the tact and sensitivity not to build a mosque so close to the spot where almost 3,000 Americans were murdered by violent Islamic jihadists.

It’s a disgusting example of the intolerance and the hate-filled vitriol present on the left. Yet for some reason, conservatives are the ones who are labeled as hateful, intolerant bigots. Ah, yes, those peaceful, tolerant, non-violent lefties! Yet the same thing seems to happen so often — a lefty goes absolutely insane anytime someone has the gall to disagree with them. This man in particular went so far as to hurl expletives at an 82-year-old Holocaust survivor just peacefully expressing his own opinion. It’s despicable. How much lower can these so-called liberals sink?

That’s odd, I thought lefties – at least from their self-delusions – were attractive, calm, folks who displayed a – how you say, ah yes, an intellectual curiosity, about these things.

This guy just looks like a haggard alkie, hate filled leftist.

joeindc44 on August 26, 2010 at 4:20 PM

also, only 70% of people oppose the GZM, so opposition to it is, uh, controversial.

joeindc44 on August 26, 2010 at 4:20 PM

Great post. I was amazed at the nutter’s total disrespect not only to an elder, but to one of the last living witnesses of the most heinous crimes against humanity. Utterly stunning.

I’d love to simply speak to a Holocaust survivor, to glean even a modicum of wisdom from their experience…it’s hard to imagine being someone who’d do what this lefty loon did.

A challenge from Dennis Prager: Can you think of 10 ways to spend 100 million dollars which would improve the image of Muslims in America, or ” build bridges”, more effectively that the Cordoba Initiative?

Bet you’ can be more “visionary” than Imam Rauf.

Reprobate.

I was watching the video muted and I noticed the facial reactions of the co-supporters of this burnt out, hate-filled lefty. I think they thought whatever it was he was ranting about funny.

joeindc44 on August 26, 2010 at 5:28 PM

IMO, this post deserves promotion. joindc44 is correct to note that its significance is not so much for the unhinged rant as for the multiple supporters of the unhinged ranter.

levi from queens on August 26, 2010 at 5:47 PM

The crazy ranting man really appears unhinged. Someone needs to start a facebook page to identify this guy, name him and shame him, ala crazy mean cat lady.

Not quite sure why this hasn’t made the front page here at HA. At lease Ace linked to it. I would love to know who that creep was.

Why are these wonderfully tolerant Leftists so anxious for dhimmitude?

Why are they so interested in the Islamofascists building a Victory Mosque?

Why are they suddenly interested in religious freedom?

If anyone ever needed their ass kicked…

BallisticBob on August 26, 2010 at 11:03 PM

You know for people who are all about freedom of religion and speech and whatevs for this second, they seem awfully hate filled for people who disagree with them…..

Poor old man. He went through a regime that hated him and tried to murder him to having some illiterate a-hole screaming about “lessons” on the streets of NYC.

What lesson can this tolerant leftie teach this old dude? Other than a ridic amount of curses…..

Ironicaly that nutjob Iman has sussed our Constitution better than the average American, or most politicians for that matter — it is NOT unconsititutional for a State or part thereof to establish a religion.

Only that the Feds have to stay out of it. The Founding fathers didn’t want the Feds dictating morality or religion, but if a State chose to, they could. the rational was that this is a power reserved to the People, not the Federal govt. If people didn’t like a State’s church, they could use that State’s political options to change it, or leave it. On the other hand, if one doesn’t like the Fed’s Church, where could they go?

So if the Muslims via birthrate, immigration & conversion gain a majority in just one State, they could force that State to adopt Islam as the State religion and rule by Sharia.

By the same token, the Constitution is NOT a suicide pact and we had better wake up and put the brakes on the spread of this virulent cult, by Constitutional means. To whit, tighten up on immigration from Wahhabists.

Just as there are a multitude of Protestant denominations, Islam has its branches. the problem is that the Wahhabis, based in Saudi Arabia, are using their oil $$ to take over mosques (from the other variants) around the world, as well as building new ones as fast as they can. We The People are well within our God-given rights to stop such immigrants who are intent on nothing less than domination of the infidel nations.

Let’s see now – Hotair complains that blogs painted the taxi stabber as right wing without any proof, but here you are painting this moustached dude as a leftie without any proof.

Right.

Let us see how it pans out. It is indeed a safe assumption to say that the man is a Leftist, but we will know for sure within a week.

Tea Partiers are sick and tired of the presumption of violence before anything at all happens. This is on tape, and it would be an oddball rightie who’d try go undercover and shot slurs like that. The Right is held to a much higher standard than the Left, Rywall – you know this well.

Save your tears, no one buys it.

So you agree that:

1
there are people on the left who oppose the construction of the community center

and

2
there are people on the right who support it

Dave Rywall on August 27, 2010 at 11:31 AM

If the Imam is serious about building bridges, he should start by building one to enlighten the radicals and bring them to the center. That would really impress us.

Drywall, the perennial user of absolut statements parsing other people’s comments for absolute statements.

What a fool.
