Harry Reid: Energy Bill Will Create Jobs and Lower Energy Cost for Consumers

Perhaps we should start using Harry as a barometer for reality—what ever Harry says, the exact opposite might be true. Harry, (the war is lost), Reid now says his Senate bill will create jobs and lower energy cost.
(CNSNews.com) – Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Wednesday that the Senate’s energy bill is necessary for the “environment and for national security,” adding that the legislation will generate jobs and lower energy costs for consumers.
However, Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), ranking member of the Senate Energy and Public Works Committee, in a statement indicated that the Senate’s energy bill will eliminate jobs by making Obama’s oil drilling moratorium permanent. link
Inhofe’s calling this bill the Reid-Boxer oil spill bill. The legislation has a provision to eliminate all liability caps on damages from oil spills. But Reid has some opponents to this provision that includes two key Democrats from the gulf region.
“The sticking point is a provision of the bill that would eliminate all liability caps on damages from oil spills, a good idea in theory that in practice would drive many small oil companies out of business. Sens. Mary Landrieu (D., La.) and Mark Begich (D., Ala.), among others, have expressed opposition to lifting the cap, and Reid probably cannot pass a bill without their votes.” link
It appears that two of the more vulnerable Senate candidates in November are appealing to their environmental lobbies to shore up some funding. Harry and Babs have a long way to go to secure their jobs. You can be certain the folks at the View will have a spot open to boost their celebrity status. (Note to the ladies at the View—-it’s “Senator Boxer”)

Looks as if The View plans to carve out a political role for itself. So be it, but they will then lose those occasional viewers like myself who will draw away rather quickly and those more frequent viewers who don’t appreciate far left propaganda. Go for it Barbara–and listen to the death knell get louder and louder…you and your gals sort of deserve it anyway.

I live in Alabama, and the last time I looked, Mark Begich was not one of our senators. I believe Shelby and Sessions represent us in the Senate. Am I wrong?

Harry Reid has trouble figuring out which end is up. Most of the time, he ends up sitting on his head and trying to talk out his jackass.

You’re correct CP, Mark Begich is a Senator from Alaska, which should be AK and not Ala. I’ll have to pass this on to the writer at NRO. Thanks

Reid needs to check back with the mother ship.
“Utility bills will necessarily skyrocket.” That’s the word from the prophet. Reid’s off the rez.
