A real Nowhere Man

In case you missed ingrate Paul McCartney’s ignorant Bush-is-so-stupid-tee-hee slam at the White House the other night:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcLEfMhTkHs

“After the last eight years, it’s great to have a President who knows what a library is.”

This bit of wit, wholly inappropriate to the occasion, offensive to his host country if not to his actual host, and based on the lowest, knee-jerkiest form of liberal prejudice, went over big with the crowd. Call them The Insulati. They don’t know anyone who wouldn’t laugh at that.

It just so happens that Laura Bush is a librarian with an advanced degree. George has an advanced degree, too. And together they have promoted the cause of literacy almost as much as the Beatles promoted hallucinogens via The White Album.

A sampling of reactions:

Maggie Thornton:

G.W. was the first and only President to hold an MBA. He also received a BA in History from Yale. Lord knows, we could use some knowledge of business and true history in the White House.

Maggie has lots of links, including one to Connie Hair:

When did decorum go out of style?

Mid-sixties?

Nice Deb:

Frankly, I don’t care if he apologizes or not. He has revealed to the world what a small, foolish man he is.
I was once a huge fan…but now, to quote Mr. Darcy: My good opinion once lost, is lost forever.

Deb links to Mark Hemingway:

We get it. You think the former President is dumb. But Bush and his wife in particular have done a lot to support literacy and libraries. The joke would be in poor taste on any occasion, but it’s made worse by revealing McCartney’s own ignorance. Just because McCartney would like to forget all about his last wife, doesn’t mean he should ignore the accomplishments of George W. Bush’s.

Ouch.

Anyway, I’d like to give Paul the Maroon of the Week award. He’s earned it.

Wasn’t he also the genius that kept Apple ITunes from distributing Beatle’s tunes? The Sir exclaims “Me, not thee!”

He’s of the group that once proclaimed they were more widely known than Jesus Christ. Never did like their music, less so after that.

Bush was a fighter-jet pilot, he successfully ran a multi-million dollar organization, & he was a very popular governor of a large state before he became the first commander in chief with an MBA. Only an ignorant fool would consider him stupid.

Paulie is just regurgitating what most British liberals think, you know, those people who have sold out their country to Islam. And that is truly stupid.

A real Nowhere Man

Paul McCartney is a real Nowhere Man.

Obama is a real Control Freak Man.

From the archives of old Paul McCartney lyrics that have been updated.

He’s a real Control Freak Man
Ruling in what he wants to be a vassal land
Making all his controlling plans
For everybody

Doesn’t listen to an opposing point of view
Control Freak man, ruling all he thinks is his purview
Control Freak Man, he had better listen
He don’t know with what he’s messin’
Knows already just what he wants to do
Doesn’t he seem more and more like Hitler and Mussolini to you?

He’s a real Control Freak Man
Ruling in what he wants to be a vassal held land
Making all his controlling plans
For everybody

He’s as blinded by his lust for power as he can be
Just sees what he wants to see
He’s got such a God complex point of call
Control Freak Man can you even see America at all?
Knows already just what he wants to do
Doesn’t he seem more and more like Hitler and Mussolini to you?

He’s a real Control Freak Man
Ruling in what he wants to be a vassal land
Making all his controlling plans
For everybody

About Control Freak Man we should all worry
To destroy all America built he is in a hurry
If he controls everything his fascist way
It will be a forlorn day
Hes going to leave it all a mess
Anyone of sound mind must confess

He’s a real Control Freak Man
Ruling in what he wants to be a vassal land
Making all his controlling plans
For everybody

You just defined the lefts base. The evil leaders know better.

Let us not forget, the F-102 (Lawn Dart) was hard to fly.

Let us not forget, the F-102 (Lawn Dart) was hard to fly.

That took some intestinal fortitude as well as brains. And Bush has manners, too.

I enjoyed this from Toby Harndon and you might, too:

Perhaps their biggest problem is that it was not just McCartney’s dyed hair and 1960s songs that seemed so retro. His adulation of Obama struck the wrong chord because few outside the White House bubble are in that place any more. It is now permissible – even fashionable – to have a go at the man once hailed as the Messiah.
