The real victims

“The attempted bombing of a plane headed to Detroit by a lone extremist is a terrible thing, and nothing can excuse it. But the real victims of this are innocent Muslims who now risk violent backlash from the hordes of inbred racist American rednecks and Tea-party attendees.”
What’s the over/under on how long it’ll be before the NYTimes runs an editorial saying something like that? I put it at 36 hours.

Probably by no later than Monday morning. Around the same time that the word “terrorist” is exchanged for “man-made disaster” and any connection to AQ is removed from stories.
You know, it’s going to be interesting when the people turn completely on the 4th estate and realize what they’ve been doing.

CNN has been very careful not to mention the terrorist name. Apparently, they feel that once their viewers hear it they will go berserk. I really didn’t realize CNN viewers were that unhinged.

There’s something else I’m expecting, too: “See, Obama, this is what you get for your escalation in Afghanistan. If you’d announced a pull-out, they’d leave us alone.”

I apologize for the length of this post. For some reason this article touched a nerve with me. Thanks for your patience.
You’re right on the money on this one. I’d bet it won’t be long at all before this or something very like it is published on just about all the libbie outlets.
I find all the discussion of religion, specifically Islam, in the media to be very enlightening. Seriously, look at the changes the issue has undergone since the rise of the Obama Zombie.
Just a year ago it was racist and wrong to even mention Obama’s middle name. Today that same middle name is being used whenever possible. Why? I believe it is to show his sympathy for Islam and how fabulously worldly the man is.
It does, however, get me to thinking about some things. Firstly, I begin to wonder if the man’s inability to “find” a church he’s content with is related to his “worldliness.” What I mean is, could Obama be having difficulty finding a church in D.C. because he is afraid to admit he’s not looking for a church, but a mosque? If it is, I don’t see what the big deal is. If he’s proud of his ties to Islam and muslims, then say so.
If Obama is muslim, he ought to just come on out and say it. I mean, come on, folks. The man claims to have been a devout member of a Christian-based church for 20+ years, yet he can’t find even one church in D.C. to visit at least on the big holidays? Bah. He can’t even be bothered to participate in the National Day of Prayer. Neither issue leads me to believe the man is a devout Christian looking for a home.
He’s doing everything he can to signal to all and sundry he’s a supporter of Islam, why not go ahead and admit it he’s a believer and member of that faith? One reason I can think of is that maybe he’s not a believer in the kinder, gentler Islam, but in the more destructive side? I realize that whether or not such a thing exists has been debated in other places. I am not qualified to do so therefore THAT issue I will leave to others to discuss.
I’m sure the Obama Zombies will come out and say “Or maybe he just doesn’t believe in ANY religion! What about that, huh, you Christian Bible thumpin’ bigot?” But I stand by my thoughts. If this president doesn’t believe in ANY faith, then come out and say it. It’s the honest thing to do. Of course we all know how much stock Obama puts in true honesty.
What I’m putting forth here is the idea that this overwhelming need by the liberal media to show sympathy and “compassion” for believers of Islam may be related to the media’s need to create a sympathetic feeling toward Islam/muslims because they fear a backlash from us redneck, tea party nut jobs (feh) when/if the president comes out of the mosque, so to speak.
I realize this is an issue many would prefer not to discuss because it is such a controversial one. But I know if the situation has gone so far as to make its way into my slow brain, the same ideas/thoughts must have occurred to many others over these past few months.
I guess what bugs me and motivates me to even bring this up is the fact that this whole issue is another example of a fundamental lack of honesty in the liberal media.
When Americans are murdered by a man with clear ties to Islamic terror and muslim extremism, it’s wrong for anyone to say so because the evil Bible thumpers might hurt some innocent supporter of Islam. When that evil Bush guy admitted his strong belief in Christianity and support for Christian views, he was dangerous and borderline delusional, deserving of impeachment and ruin for his ridiculous beliefs.
To my mind, such blatant bias is a terrible thing for us all, yet I don’t see the fight against it I hoped I would see. Thank goodness for sites like this and people like those who come here. At least I know there are folks out there who see some of the same things I do.

No, the real victims are the hundreds of thousands of airline passengers who now must endure even more insufferable security measures due to the various western governments’ cowardice in failing to profile those most likely to pose a risk by virtue of national origin and association with known extremists.
We are the real victims.

“The attempted bombing of a plane headed to Detroit by a lone (but AQ trained) extremist is a terrible thing, and nothing can excuse it. But the real victims of this are (not) innocent Muslims who now risk violent backlash from the hordes of
inbred racistAmericanrednecksliberal blue bloods andTea-partychampagne party attendees (who must now be strip searched before boarding in first class).”I just had to re-write this quote. Seems that every time a lib wants to consider a violent backlash against anything, they don’t think. Period. They just pull out the old Thesaurus of Liberalization where “redneck, inbred, tea-bagger, racist” and other such lib hate-speech is defined.
Gets kind of old, doesn’t it?

We are NOT a nation of Muslims and they have NOT contributed much of anything to the US or any other part of the world except violence and despotic views.

I’m puzzled by your questioning. He isn’t looking for a church. He IS the church, the one we’ve been waiting for, “I mean in a way Obama’s standing above the country, above above the world, he’s sort of God”. Ask Evan Thomas. It was printed in Time. Surely it’s true. Time is a news magazine.

It is time to kick them out and send them back to their country of origin.

But what actually happened? Something that, in hindsight, was even more predictable than an enemy-coddling editorial from the Gray Lady: Statements from this administration blaming it all on Bush.
