Newsweek Obama Cover Gallery

If you thought that TIME’s shrine to President Obama was bad enough (and it was), then just wait until you get a load of Newsweek’s unfaltering obsequiousness.  Same deal as last time, guys – click the pics for the respective galleries:

No post on Newsweek is ever complete without mention of its assistant managing editor Evan Thomas, he of Obama’s “sort of God” fame, so here it is.

There is, thankfully, a silver-lining: Newsweek’s woes are even graver than TIME’s.  Jim Geraghty notes that Newsweek has lost almost $30 million this year, Ed Driscoll here chronicles its assorted troubles, and Bill O’Reilly believes that the publication won’t survive 2010.

Let’s hope that they’re right.

Better out than in, crazy_legs, and the Newsweek cover porn collection is a total barf-fest.

Back in the 1970s, National Lampoon did a parody of the recently-defunct Look Magazine, changing its name from “Look” to “Kennedy” to note the obsequiousness the mag had shown towards JFK and the others in its dying days (Look, like Life being killed off by the growth of television).

Newsweek appears to be in its death throes in the same way, desperately trying to cling on to what they saw as the bright shining hope of the latest Democratic Party star, only to find that the rest of the country doesn’t share their same rapture.

Jon, great example, exactly the same case here. Obama is a cash-cow, but even that’s not proving enough to avert financial oblivion for Newsweek. Best get started on that press bailout/charitable status/whatever the racket now is, Democrats…
