A Memo To The Global Warming Cult
posted at 1:28 am on December 12, 2009 by Doctor Zero
Dear global warming fanatics,
Please. Stop. You’re embarrassing yourselves. Take a deep breath, and try to understand what has happened to you during the past month. You need to accept that your dreams of global domination are over. Increasingly shrill attempts to terrify the masses into ignoring Climagate are only making you look foolish. The con job you’ve been running for the last thirty years is busted forever.
I know this is difficult for you to accept. Things seemed to be going well. You’ve got the cap-and-trade bill lurking over the United States, ready to shatter an already weakened economy plagued with unemployment problems, and effectively end America’s role as a dominant industrial power. Your beliefs have been instituted in public schools as the official state religion, whose rituals and incantations are forced upon millions of school children. The wealthy royalty of popular culture is pleased to produce an endless string of movies, music, and television programming to market your beliefs. Your critics were marginalized to the point where the presidential candidate from the 2000 Democrat ticket felt comfortable referring to them as Nazis.
I can see how losing all of this cultural and political power in a few short weeks would be stunning. I hope the shock has dissipated enough for you to understand where we are now, and where we are going from here.
You aren’t going to frighten the world into reducing the human population. You’re not going to succeed in terrorizing free people into embracing totalitarianism, to fend off a phantasmal catastrophe that no democratic nation has the discipline to combat. We’re not going to politely ignore swarms of private jets and limos ferrying you to carbon-belching “climate summits,” where you draw up plans for the Western proletariat to live as primitive hunter-gatherers. We’re not going to let a pampered elitist, who once flew around the world to attend cricket practice, tell us that we need to make do without air travel and ice water.
We’ll never be foolish enough to allow a band of fanatics to use “peer review” to rule all dissenting opinion out-of-bounds, then declare themselves the proud owners of a mighty consensus. You global-warming fanatics underestimate how much you needed those tactics to gain power. You’ll never have that kind of unchallenged authority again, because we will never stop demanding the raw data, and we’ll drown you in laughter when you mutter something about deleting it by accident. We will never forget that you began with a conclusion and sought to harvest data that supported it – the exact opposite of the scientific method.
Your arrogant condescension to your critics is horribly misplaced. You have completely lost the ability to call anyone “stupid.” Your capacity for reason is the matter in question. Your status as “scientists” is on probation. It will take years of faithful adherence to the scientific method, and rigorous efforts to test and disprove your hypotheses, before you can regain the trust of thoughtful men and women. Until you have accomplished this, the attitude we expect from you is humility and contrition. You have much to answer for. The time for you to issue pompous lectures is over. The time for you to give sworn testimony may soon begin. We’re a year away from the American voter’s first opportunity to respond to the politicians who terrorized them by waving a loaded cap-and-trade bill in their faces.
We ask you to stop propagandizing our children, because it won’t work any more. We will prepare them to deal with you. Informed parents across the industrialized world will explain what Climagate means to their children, and prepare them with questions your public-education minions cannot answer. The vindicated critics you’ve been working to silence will fill the post-Climagate void with publications, and some of them will become best-sellers. You’ll always have your political allies and fellow travelers, but you’ll never have a population ignorant of climate science to push around again.
You can stop trying to make Climagate go away by ignoring it, or lying about it. That won’t work, either. Huge stories can no longer be suppressed by a handful of like-minded network executives and editors. Those glittering eyes you see in the darkness, beyond the comforting glow of the New York Times editorial board, are the massed ranks of the Internet’s Army of Davids. They are a feral mixture of blogging curiosity and search-engine memory. If you think they’re closing in around you… well, it’s not just your imagination.
One of the worst sins you must answer for is the damage you have done to real science. We have much to learn about the Earth, its ecology, and its climate. We will not enhance our ability to learn those secrets by impoverishing ourselves in fit of primitive superstition and political opportunism. Desperate people don’t do a good job of protecting the environment… it is a job suitable only to vibrant nations of industry and technology. Those of us who still cherish independent thought, and the spirit of scientific inquiry, would like to resume our studies of the universe. It’s difficult to hear the truth whispered in the tides, the breeze, and the solar wind over the hysterical jabbering of fanatics, and the angry demands of greedy politicians.
Update: Thanks to osogrande for pointing out a typo where I referred to Al Gore as the 2000 vice-presidential candidate. I’ve corrected the mistake. I wanted to acknowledge the error, instead of claiming my original raw data was accidentally deleted.

Good points. Also, a simple home experiment. Hang some wet clothes out to “dry” in freezing tempuratures. All the frozen moisture will evaporate. Humidity index is the key. That glaciers are evaporating is the same thing. Where’s the humidity? Tied up somewhere, count on it.
Also regarding the data set. It is all actually one dataset gathered by two significant gatherers. That they have shared it, stored it (or not) and let others do the crunching is another story. What is left out of the story is that prior to the 20th century there were only the beginnings of meaningful data capture. To assimilate anything further back in time is both time consuming and mostly error prone. Interestingly enough today’s climate gathering systems are accurate where they are applied, but wholely inadequate as to the types and volumes of measurements gathered.
For instance, have you listened to a weather summary on the local news show lately? A statement in winter may be “the wind chill index makes 25d F feel like 12d F”. But in the summer it will be “the humidity index makes 88d F feel like 100d F”. So we’re only talking two factors in each scenario, temp and wind in winter, temp and humidity in summer. But don’t we have wind in summer and humidity in winter? They can’t adjust for all three factors year round and most likely tout their meteorological affiliations during sweeps week. Do you really think the big-brained guys are any better at assimilating and analysing 12 factors, 20 factors, 350 factors or more?
Not.

crr6:
You completely ignore the leaked data (not just e-mails), because they completely invalidate your argument.
And if you’d been paying attention, you’d know that the Australian data has been faked as well, and GISS is looking like it’s about to go down (if they ever do release their data, which has already been adjusted once).
You rats are strangely attached to your sinking ship. Nevertheless, it is sinking.
Time to move on to the next fictional crisis. Don’t feel sad, you got more mileage out of this one than any of the others.
Merovign on December 12, 2009 at 10:05 PM
crr6 is basically pushing some kind of IPCC Pravda line.
Let’s think of it this way. There’s four rocks laying on a muddy field. You kick over one and find worms. Who can argue with a straight face that you’re not going to find worms under the others?
Further, there’s not four independent efforts; you have a number of institutions and researchers who know very well that if their work doesn’t give the IPCC folks what they want their grants will dwindle quickly. And who are the people at the top of the climate-science food chain, the lead authors on the IPCC chapters regarding human involvement in climate change? The guys in the Climategate email.

The entire warming theory dies if the time period of the graph is changed to say 2000 years. Easy ways to fix this hoax are to change the time series length – much longer please – to include the midevil warm period as a minimum or to change the sign of all the fudge factors. Sure there is no basis for changing the sign but that shouldn’t be a problem with these fakers.

Somehting has to be done about this problem. the scientist’s believe that this is AGM is caused by man tracking the measurement of time. There will be a UN summit to discuss destroying all time pieces and making it a law to own a clock.the scientists believe that if we no longer watch time we will have to return to a time when we woke with the sun and slept with the stars. There will be no need for jobs since no one will know how long they worked and industry will revert to

dismantle the EPA.
If Obama uses the EPA to control CO2 the dems are giving the GOP a weapon to use in 2010 and 2012. For if he who controls the whitehouse controls how much economic activty (Co2 production) then the GOp can promise to do away with the regualtion if they win. this is why Obama will never use the EPa and wants the cap and tax passed. Then it is a “congress” issue and not a partisian issue so much.
the EPA threat is a bluff or Obama admin really are the stupidest people in the room

“… the presidential candidate from the 2000 Democrat ticket felt comfortable referring to them as Nazis.”
Generally I enjoy DZ’s posts, but this bit of disingenuousness ruined it for me. Gore compared himself to Churchill in terms of being able to rouse a nation to action; he didn’t refer to his opponents as Nazis.
Let’s keep it accurate people. Leave the hyperbole and mischaracterization to the Global Warming fanatics.

This post has nothing to do with this thread. I would like to personally thank, whoever leaked these e-mails and the data with them, from the bottom of my heart. This may be the best Christmas present I’ve ever had. For those of you who believe this information was hacked, I hope it gives you solace because nothing else is going to.
I’ve been arguing global warming for over 20 years with these people and it was always like talking to a wall, no matter what you said the science was settled.
I’ll be the first to admit it’s still not settled, but also the climate fear crowd doesn’t control the message any more, thanks to whoever leaked that folder.
I hope that, somehow within the next few months. the person that allowed this to happen, comes forth and accepts the heartfelt thanks of everyone in the world, who has a major stake in what’s been going on.
Until that happens, let me just say, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

Some time back One of my friends said “You and all your right winger friends will be laughed out of a science conference. Trust me scientists know better than radio show hosts and bloggers”. This week I had immense pleasure to laugh in his face in public setting.
I want to thank all the blogger’s, hacker’s, right winger’s and all those scientists who have fought this scam for decades. The fight is not over yet. Keep pushing. We need to get hoax science off our schoolbooks and culture.
And now the customary “Doc an excellent post from you again.”

“One of the worst sins you must answer for is the damage you have done to real science.”
That is the heart of this controversy. The bastardization of the scientific method for political gain, the replacement of inductive logic with emotive deductive logic, and the adoption of an a priori mind sets MUST be countered by “…faithful adherence to the scientific method, and rigorous efforts to test and disprove your hypotheses”.
This short sighted and devious practice is sure to have some grave unintended consequences, especially with those who will be called upon as the rational minds of leadership in the future. Trust, once lost, will be a longggggg time returning…

A Call to Arms:
.
People, the hacked emails were a lovely Christmas present indeed. But Christmas isn’t the only holiday of the year. What about a New Year’s gift? A Valentine’s Day gift? A St. Patrick’s Day gift?
.
Of course, I’m talking about MORE HACKS! Somebody, I’m talking to you. You who walk the halls of GISS and other GW labs … hack on! You who know what’s going on inside the corridors of the so-called Consensus … hack on!
.
We need to kick out the last two or three struts the Alarmist’s now cling to. We’ve all heard their shrieks: “So what if Anglia is false, we’ve got these other sources of data.”
.
Bull, I say! Remove these struts! Hackers, unite! We need to obliterate the enemy now!

Right on cue, we have a huge story coming out of the Daily Mail in Britain (don’t laugh, they have larger circulation than the WSJ). They report on McIntyre’s hockey stick findings, the pressure put on media by the climate change mafia, and debunk their own story of a week ago that the Russians stole the data. A very long piece, well worth reading and saving:

This is why the eco-fundamentalist will not debate anyone in a public forum.
This is why when asked to prove their conclusions they will not produce the data.
This is why when they have their backs against to the wall to produce such data, it has been conveniently ” original raw data was accidentally deleted.”.
This is why liberals have to shout down people, demonize them as stupid “flat earthers”,and run from a real debate because if they did try to have a logical conversation about man made global warming and backing up their rhetoric….it would turn out like this:
(via Instapundit)
Lord Monckton adresses a Greenpeace-campaigner on global warming
December 12th, 2009 § 2
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzkB5DuveDE&feature=player_embedded
This conversation exemplifies liberals perfectly.
The truth does not matter….
…..The facts do not matter…..
………..The reality on the ground does not matter….
All that matters to liberals is their ideology and political agenda, facts be dam#ed!!!!!!.
But geniuses like crr6 think that everybody else is lying or stupid.
There is no reason to doubt the real experts and leaders in the Global Warming movement because they speak the truth…..
………EXCEPT WHEN THEY ARE ADMITTING THAT THEY ARE LIARS TO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE:
Greenpeace: Yeah, we misled, but we needed the emotionalism!

http://hotair.com/archives/2009/08/20/greenpeace-yeah-we-lied-but-we-needed-the-emotionalism/
But super genius crr6 and her liberal friends just ignore yet more evidence of deceit and lies put forth by the eco-fundamentalist…..
….liberals just ignore correspondence between some of the leading scientist which talks about how they are falsifying data and shutting down any dissent….
….Liberals just ignore that data models like the famous “hockey stick” model have been shown as frauds….
….Liberals just ignore that even their lord and savior Al-Gore’s movie has been shown to be nothing but political propaganda by a court of law, littered with lies and inaccuracies…..
…..Liberals just ignore that their chicken little games of making wild, catastrophic predictions of all the dangers of man made Global Warming are not coming true….Isn’t Florida supposed to be just about under water by now?……
Where are all of those killer hurricanes?
This line put out by liberals like crr6 that this is just a small part of the overall data model is just liberal bullsh!t like this commenter pointed out:
Astonerii is exactly right and it is nothing more than an exercise in absolute ignorance to suggest that the leading soothsayers of this Global Warming movement being shown as nothing but lairs and con artist that can’t even produce their data has no effect on the reliability and credibility of their solutions and the people that relied on them:
Climategate: Obama’s Science Adviser Confirms the Scandal — Unintentionally
Posted By Myron Ebell On December 5, 2009 @ 1:24 pm In
The faking of data and manipulating science to fit a predetermined agenda has nothing to do with science but everything to do with gaining power, money and influence to further their causes.
This data is linked together and relied on as a basis for the results of many different institutions.
The fact that some of the leading scientist have been shown to be nothing but corrupt activists manipulating data to reach their desired results and talking points puts all of these scientist in question.
Here is more manipulation and deceit:
The Smoking Gun At Darwin Zero
8 12 2009
by Willis Eschenbach
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/12/08/the-smoking-gun-at-darwin-zero/
People keep saying “Yes, the Climategate scientists behaved badly. But that doesn’t mean the data is bad. That doesn’t mean the earth is not warming.”
Total transparency and a complete disclosure of their data to support their conclusions is only the start of gaining some credibility.
Lying and giving false reports to gain money (taxpayer money) is fraud and prosecutions should start.
Only and absolute idiot would rely on lies and deceit as a foundation of their opinions and solutions to any subject…something this professor states quite well:
If you have to argue your science by using fraud, your science is not valid.
Professor Pilmer
…But hey…none of this matters to crr6 and her liberal friends…..
…….according to their Eco Messiah Gore…..THE SCIENCE DOES NOT EVEN MATTER NOW!!:
Princeton Physicist Calls Global Warming Science “Mistaken”Scientist fired by Al Gore was told, “science will not intrude on public policy”.
That’s right….don’t let the facts get in the way of our liberal agenda…..
How Progressive!!!!!!

Crr6, You need to understand the seriousness of “lost data.” If a nuclear power plant operator were to tell the NRC that they lost their data on some calculations for a safety related system, the NRC would shut them down. This “global warming” scenario is just as important because the Hot Planet Alarmists are planning a takeover.
It’s time to start over. It is time to put some scientists under oath and ask some questions.
