Scenes We’d Like to See: Obama Edition

For those of you old enough to remember Mad Magazine in its heyday (long before the occasionally humorous “Mad TV,” which—out of deference to that great publication—should really be called something else), you will recall a running feature called “Scenes We’d Like to See.” The feature was devoted to events so unlikely and improbable as to be funny. It generally involved favorite targets of the magazine like Porfirio Rubirosa, a man noted for his prowess with the opposite sex, announcing he planned to join a monastery.
A year into the star-crossed presidency of Barack Obama, I find myself cobbling together a list of scenes I’d like to see. This is but a select few of many, some of which I can’t mention in polite company. Feel free to add your own.
- Obama admitting that the surge in Iraq worked and that he had been wrong.
- Obama admitting that he was wrong about the effects of his $787 billiong “stimulus” package on the rate of unemployment.
- Obama inviting a group of Republican Congress members the White House to hear their ideas on health care reform, national defense, etc.
- Obama announcing that he may have been mistaken about global warmism and is canceling his plans to go to Copenhagen pending further scientific investigation into this issue.
- Obama making a statement about anything without having to deliver a formal speech in a setting carefully chosen for its dramatic import.
- Obama admitting that George W. Bush had been right about something.
- Obama admitting that he (Obama) had been wrong about something.

Good idea, but the concept doesn’t have quite the zing without MAD’s great illustrations along with it.

9. Obama deciding to avoid any major TV speeches or appearances for the next six months, because he realizes he’s overexposed himself to the American public.

10. One more TV appearance to announce that he’s resigning.
Not funny, but still a scene I’d like to see.

11. Obama admitting he’s a left wing zealot, and if he could get away with it, he’d have Chavez and Castro in his cabinet.
Yes… there are still some who doubt this fact.

LMAO! GREAT post! I agree, it would be amazing to see these scenes, but chances are slim to none any will ever happen. Too many of them are related to the Obama Ego which is bigger than the man’s ears.

16. Obama ripping off his mask to reveal he IS Osama.

sesquipedalian, It would be just like Obama, if Bin laden himself is caught, to think
1) giving him a civil trial in NYC is a good thing
2) catching OBL makes a significant dent in the War on Terror, excuse me, Man-Caused Incidents or whatever they are calling it now….
3) that the American public will agree with him.
