OK, Here’s the Plan: There Isn’t One

What a brilliant military strategist Barack Obama is! Who woulda thunk it? The “plan” he outlined last night is sure to go down in the annals of military history, alongside the Schlieffen Plan and the Battle of the Cowpens. Goes sorta like this: You send 75% of the troops your commander on the ground asks for (why 75%, he didn’t say), then you tell the enemy that you that you plan to begin drawing down your forces in 18 months. Utterly brilliant! You arbitrarily make up a number of troops to send into battle that may or may not fulfill the intended need, and could conceivably place more American lives in harm’s way. And then, in the same breath, you announce a surrender date.

Good thing this bozo was a community organizer and not a community planner before taking the oath of office as president. As a planner, he might have arranged outings for community members in which he would, for example, put 80 people on one of two chartered buses, 1 on the other.

But let’s get serious for a minute. Why did he give the speech he did last night? In a half-baked effort to appease both sides. This decision is supposed to make liberals happy because it entails sending fewer troops and promising to end the war, win or lose, by a fixed date not too far into the future. And it’s supposed to make conservatives happy because it gives the illusion of seriousness, this coming from the most unserious president ever to defile the Oval Office with his presence.

So how’s the liberal press handling this grand bargain? President Obama Sticks to His Guns is the headline of a piece by Michael Crowley in the The New Republic. Chalk up one for the Commander in Chief. Writes Gabor Steingart in Der Spiegel Never Before Has a Speech Felt So False. Whoops! A goose egg from our newly won allies in Europe. I could offer a few more, but you can imagine the general drift of the headlines this morning.

Roughly half the mainstream media has Obama’s back. The rest are disappointed or worse. And that’s only the MSM. On the whole, not a good morning the Great Decider.

And our enemies laugh at the numerous weaknesses of O-Bow-Mao, while they plan how to best destroy Afghanistan and the U.S.

Der Leader is a colossal and abject failure. Conservatives know it. Our allies know it. What remains to be seen is how much devastation will be caused by his unicorn policy.

May God bless our troops and the Afghan people.

It was pathetic and anyone who trots out the “we must support him when he makes a decent decision” should be flogged. First, he waited MONTHS to drag this mashed up rehash of previous crap he’s spewed out again. Second, he betrayed the very troops he’s claiming to be so concerned about by telling the enemy when he’ll surrender. He did NOT make a decent decision. He waited MONTHS allowing MANY Americans to die so he could look serious and thoughtful to his base.

I don’t care what anyone says, this man is DANGEROUS to both this country and the world. He’s inexperienced with no sense of just how important it is to prevent the Taliban from retaking Afghanistan, he has no idea what it takes to win a war and, to be honest, I don’t think he really wants to win it anyway. If he wins, some credit will have to be given to Bush and God knows we can’t have that!

And, just for the record, I will believe he’ll actually SEND those troops when their boots are on the ground. By saying he’s sending them, he’s already gotten RINOs all over to pledge their support. If he decides not to send them, or to send less than the full amount or whatever, no one will report that. Instead, they’ll pat him on the back for taking advice from the “folks on the ground.”

This man is a slippery snake who will turn around and bite us in the arse given the chance. To believe anything he says without verifying the facts would be a grave mistake.
