Some of those “Vanity Voters” may have voted that way so we could be over any ridicule of racism in this country. in either case, they don’t like what they ended up with.

Obama may have inadvertantly set back the Civil Rights movement by about a decade. It will be difficult for a black man to be elected to high office for some time after The Won leaves.

I think Obama’s “charisma” was based on voter narcissism — people excited not just about electing a black President, but about themselves, voting for a black President.

I called them Vanity Voters and I knew many of them. The curse of the me-generation has caught up with all of us. Everybody expecting the mirrors to tell them they are the fairest of them all.

But now those pesky mirrors are telling them Ms. Palin is one fairer yet.
