When your existing septic drain field is saturated to the point where it seeps into the neighbor's yard, what can you do for that neighbor? You ask the neighbor what will it take to ignore the mess, right? The neighbor says to allow an easement or to remove that tree that has blocked the view. And for good measure, forget about that debt owed by them to you from a previous arrangement.

Removing the funding of abortions from the bill was the tree & foregoing the accumulated districts debt of hurricane relief sure makes for an appealling turn.

Our country was built in part on the ability to compromise, but when you participate in this shell game of erasing the debt of a local problem at the expence of 1/6 of the nations economy, people are going to recognize that you've have surrendered your conservative principles for the [spreading the wealth - cancelling an accrued debt] liberal-democratic form of a constituency.

True - Joe Cao's vote was not a factor in the bill passing but it is a disappointment to those who believed that he stood for principles and not for a government mandated health care bill. How could someone in good conscience vote for a government health care bill that plans to takeover more of the private sector? His days as a congressman may soon be over because he traded down instead of up. It is a shame because the guy he replaced was a crook. Now, what can he do but accept the fact that he is no longer a person who can speak for the big "R" republican brand? When will he change his party affiliation? Before the RNC helps fund his next congressional run or after he wins his district in 2010.

Cao's toast, either from a new Dem challenger or a GOP one in the next primary.

The Dems won't keep him, and the GOP will run someone else against him.

Cao will find out in less than six months that while the Dems are happy with his vote, they want his seat back.

They will probably run an African American against him, given the district makeup, and maybe even have Obama do some tv commercials for the Dem.

So much for Obama's great promises to "work with" Cao on the needs of the district. Obama can just as easily work with a Dem on them, too.

Maybe a lot of new Katrina dollars traded for Cao's vote, or Federal funding for a new ACORN casino in his district.

Let's all pray that the Senate keeps this balloon on the ground till after Novemeber '10.

I don't know much about Cao but I believe he holds cold cash jeffersons district and he only voted the way he did after the outcome was known ....I suspect the republican leadership gave the O.K. on his vote but I am only guessing

The fact that they are willing to vote for this idiocy shows that the true game is not health care.

As I said in another thread:

1/220 = .45%

It's bipartisan homeopathy.
