The Party of Love and Harmony vs. the Party of Cannibals

Democrats are having a hard time with Tuesday’s shellacking. For an example of how badly bruised the Dems are, check out this column in today’s WaPO by Eugene Robinson. What makes commentators like Robinson and others who accuse the Republicans of “purging” their moderate wing an unfunny joke is:
- the misperception among them that people like recent dropout Dede Scozzafava are moderate embodiments of the Republican ideal, and
- the belief that Democrats are themselves above purging political candidates who don’t toe the party line (just ask Joe Lieberman).
There is no question at this point that the Republican Party is in need of new, strong leadership to unify its purpose as we head next into the 2010 electoral arena. But neither is there any question that the Democrat Party is listing badly. The Democrat caucus is so deeply divided right now that their chances of passing health care reform not just by the end of this year but ever are in jeopardy.
It might be fun for morons like Robinson to go after Sarah Palin, whom he refers to as “Chairman Sarah” in his column, or to decry “the wit and wisdom of Glenn Beck.” But the simple truth is that the current Democrat leadership has no shortage of dunces and/or loudmouths. Find me a human being anywhere on earth who couldn’t name more U.S. presidents than Nancy Pelosi. And since when is Joe Biden anything other than a clown with bad hair plugs?
The Democrats may like to think of themselves as the party of inclusiveness — of love and harmony. But how much love has the Democrat-controlled Congress shown its Republican colleagues lately in the ongoing battle over health care? How is changing the locks on conference rooms in the Capitol Building a sign of harmony?

Just because the Dems are everywhere like Trojan viruses on porn websites doesn’t mean they have their act together either. A good part of the reason they haven’t passed these latest bills is due to them not being extreme enough. Single payer & abortion funding for all comes to mind.
Referencing this quote, I’m sure I can find someone dumber than Nanzi. I once golfed with a white, middle aged HR manager that hadn’t read a book in 10 years.
And, uh, I heard about those Trojans on a news website somewhere………
