Nicolas Sarkozy distancing himself from Obama

Fed up with Barack Obama’s naiveté and far-left agenda, French President Nicolas Sarkozy has decided to distance himself from his American colleague. Where Sarkozy once was strongly pro-American, he has now shifted his focus from the U.S. to other international allies.

Didier Billion of the Institute of International & Strategic Relations says: “Sarkozy has clearly been thrown off course in his relations with America.” Another foreign affairs expert, Bruno Tertrais from the Foundation for Strategic Research, adds: “There is an annoyance about what the French see as naivety in the Obama administration.”

One major sticking point has been President Obama’s softer stance on Iran, while President Sarkozy prefers a more hawkish approach. Sarkozy said last month: “I support America’s outstretched hand. But what has the international community gained from these offers of dialogue? Nothing but more enriched uranium and centrifuges.”

It’s fascinating to see just how much America’s relationships with traditional allies has changed since Obama took office. Countries that were decidedly pro-American under George W. Bush, feel betrayed by his successor. Governments that, on the other hand, opposed Bush strongly, are Obama’s biggest fans.

If Obama continues down this path of alienating America’s friends, the U.S. will end up alone, because although its enemies may like Obama personally, they do not have any sympathy for his country. They want the U.S. weakened, not stronger. They do not think Obama is such a wonderful fellow because he’s a strong leader, but because they think they can push him and therefore his country, around.

We’ll see what the long term effects of Obama’s behavior will be, but I fear that they will be extremely destructive – for the U.S. and its traditional allies.

They said if I voted for Palin(and her running mate) that our allies would shun us and our enemies would be emboldened…..and they were right!

Seriously, what is Obama thinking?

From I have seen, this bho has tick off most of the people of the world who give a hoot about America. Not only in my county, but the world! You have to be a really ‘ good old boy’ to get this done in less than 9 months. WAY to go bho, you have to get the grand prize! How does this make you feel? Frankly, I do not think you give a fling flit, IMO.

France finally wises up, ditches Chirac and elects someone with a little brass that doesn’t spend their time bad mouthing the US, and we elect a nincompoop who goes out of his way to look down on Sarkozy, not to mention treating the Brits like sh!t. Now that Putin has called his bluff, I’m waiting for Barry to reprise Carter’s astonishment at Brezhnev, saying, “I can’t believe he LIED to me!” Sorry, Barry, but while you think history started with your ascendancy to the throne, a few of us have been around long enough to recognize an arrogant sucker when we see one who will drag us down, hopefully for only one term.

Somewhere in Paris, at an outside table on La Rive Gauche, in the gathering shadows of Notre Dame, a Frenchman excitedly gesticulates, his Galoise slashing through the air like a sabre, as he denounces America as a”Bunch of cheese-burger eating surrender monkeys.” And he means it to sting…and it does because he’s right.

We’d like to distance ourselves from him, too, Nic.
