The Left’s “Dirty Pictures”

Left-Prejudice n. The ascription of racial motivation to any action or comment by a conservative that is critical of black people, especially Barack Obama.

The above word does not yet exist as part of the English language but at the rate the current liberal j’accuses are arising, I predict it will.

The latest example of left-prejudice comes from the mind and pen of Maureen Dowd, writing in today’s New York Times. Her target? None other than beleaguered South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson, who took Barack Obama to task for lying during last Wednesday’s speech. Wilson’s outburst — he yelled “You lie!” when Obama claimed the current health reform bill didn’t cover illegal aliens — was inappropriate, even though Obama did lie.

But none of this really matters to Dowd, whose main reason for writing her column is to be the first or her ilk to shout out “Gotcha!” at another “racist” offender. According to Dowd, who apparently has the ability to read the minds of people from the other side of the political spectrum, what Wilson was really saying was “You lie, boy.” And what offended Wilson, moreover, is not just that Obama is black but that he is “brainy.”

Here is how liberal reasoning seems to operate:

  1. Barack Obama is black. (Given)
  2. A person disagrees with something Obama says or does and says so.
  3. Therefore, that person disagrees with Obama because he is black — i.e., is a racist. (Q.E.D.)

Following this same “reasoning,” it might be argued that when a rooster crows and the sun rises, rooster’s crowing is the cause of the sunrise.

This would seem to work out very nicely for liberals, who support everything Obama says or does.

In the old joke, a psychiatrist administers a Rorschach test to a new patient. Each time the doctor displays an ink blot, the patient responds that he sees some deeply deviant, perverted sexual act. After a dozen or so tries, the psychiatrist says, “Mr. Such-and-Such, I’m afraid I must tell you that you have a serious psychological problem.”

“I have a problem?!” the patient replies. “They’re your dirty pictures.”

The reasoning itself is totally flawed. It is like saying Obambi is brainy just because he has a degree from Harvard.

I am a Bachelor of Commerce, Melbourne University. Does the possession of that degree make me brainy? No…..
