…because I see this website, and I think that a comparable website with another color would be considered supremacist. Double standards: ba da ba ba ba, I’m lovin’ it.

Go to hell, McDonald’s. I was avoiding your food anyway, after the last couple of E. Coli bouts you gave me.

HAHA! Perfect example of the Liberal double standard. Here is another visual example of the same:

I am not opposed to meeting people where they work, live and play in order to get one’s message out. I think conservatives, Republicans specifically, would gain a lot from being more forward in their attempts to reach under-represented conservatives.

That being said, I think this is an atrocity of wrongheadedness. It is a McDonald’s menu and employment application — nothing more. I’m guessing they were shooting for authenticity and a non-pandering feel. Instead they put forth some tripe about a tree and nourishment of blacks, which is a laughable idea at best when one considers the problems with obesity, Diabetes and poor nutrition among Blacks.

I have to say that I actually like that they use the word “black” in their domain name. I also like the imaging they used even if it a bit overwrought. Increased employment and entrepreneurship among Blacks is a great goal to work toward.

I think this project is more insulting than inspirational. Similar efforts geared toward other minority groups may be in the works. White men should not be offended about being excluded from such foolishness.

Check this out.

What a piece of tragic irony. They actually use a graffiti-font to accentuate the word “achievers.”

Thanks McDonald’s. I probably would not have been able to read it otherwise.

Far from it. I’m just annoyed that if the same foolishness were attempted as “365white”, that it would be called racist, where this is not.

I saw something about this on the WET (White Entertainment Television) network. It was followed by a word from the Congressional White Caucus. This all happened while visiting the White Student Union at my local university.

In the academy, and by extension the media, racism’s definition has been altered to posit that only those in power may be racists. White males, to their thinking, will always be in power. (Which is, coincidentally, why Sotomayor ruled the way she did on Ricci and why the Left felt she was justified).

The left will never see anything wrong with stuff like this. I mean, they don’t like that it’s pretty obviously patronizing (someone in marketing is going to get canned if this gets noticed and viewed as insulting). But they see no inconsistency with their supposed opposition to racism.

They’ve long ago rejected the color blind perspective as a failed model for interaction and yet one more way that white males can exert power over others. America cannot be a colorblind melting pot, the reasoning goes, because that melting pot’s perspective is implicitly white and disenfranchising to other cultures.

After a decade of being insulted by their TV ads (the dork / crazy person is ALWAYS a white guy being laughed at by ‘cool minorities’ — think I’m kidding? Watch) I’ve just bought my last big mac. Ever.

I have to ask: since we’re doing 365Black now, can we drop the February charade?

SAMinVA on August 19, 2009 at 3:01 PM

maybe ’365Black’ just means that crud on the bottom of their ‘hamburgers’

they put a number to that shade just like paint stores do….

myself, I’m “base white”

semi-gloss……

365Black has the same ring for me a Ebony, hair relaxer, pick, and other things that are esoteric. I don’t belong. Who cares?!! I haven’t tortured my gut with Mickey D’s for more than 30 years.

There’s a place to submit feedback on that site. I left em some. Told them that if it was 365White it’d be considered racist. And, that they’re contributing to the racial divide in this country at a time when we need healing. Told em I’m white and have a black grandaughter that I love (I don’t care if she’s green). Told em that a lot of people in Atlanta are better educated and make more money than a lot of whites, but good for them eh? Oh yeah, and I won’t buy their food anymore either.
