“It will be a cold day in hell before he socializes my country!”

President Obama’s cabinet has quietly begun touring flyover country in order to build support for various policies. The small-town tour’s most recent stop was Reserve, Louisiana, where Kathleen Sebelius, Eric Shinseki, Hilda Solis and Tom Vilsack showed up to wow the rubes with snake oil promises of Free Healthcare. The rubes weren’t buying; even the local media described the crowd as “skeptical.”
Sebelius perpetuated the lie that 47 million Americans have no insurance coverage – many included in that statistic are not Americans, and many are already eligible for Medicaid or SCHIP. (Watch this video for a breakdown of the uninsured.) She also pushed the new talking point recently introduced by Donna Brazile about the “underinsured” and even tacked on an additional 5 million. No comment on the 83 million who will lose their private insurance if the House Democrats’ bill passes.
Although the town hall was held in the middle of the work day with very little notice or publicity, the meeting room was packed. There was a line 20 deep waiting outside of the door to get in. On the whole the crowd seemed very pro-life and hostile towards the Obama officials.

One man declared, “It will be a cold day in hell before he socializes my country!” This video also includes a clip of Sebelius’ response to the question whether Congress will have to partake of the wonderful new plan the Democrats are devising for the proletarians. That development will likewise occur on a cold day in hell:
How clueless was Ms. Sebelius? She was perplexed when a reference to FEMA was greeted with outrage and she brushed off concerns by the elderly about Medicare cuts.
Louisiana’s Senator Mary Landrieu needs to walk a very fine line if she wants to keep her job, and she knows it. She intends to hold another town hall in August “where more health care questions can be answered.” I guess she didn’t get the memo that “The time for talk is through.”
Added: the sort of questions Mary can look forward to: “Our government, to be quite candid, has not done a very superb job of operating Medicare, Social Security, and other similar type programs. So what reason do we have to believe that they’ll do a better job operating a government operated health care plan?” (video)

There’s not much left that isn’t socialized.

There are few joys in life like the look on the faces of DC politicians when they show up in rural America, expecting a bunch of hillbillies and discover not only are they NOT welcome, but the folks are NOT impressed that they’re from the gov’mint and are alot smarter and well informed than the “policy makers”.
Sebellius probably realized she wasn’t in Kansas anymore.

This is a great example of why it is so important to make sure there are Town Hall meetings scheduled in every congressional district in the country during the “Summer District Work Period” for the House of Representatives August 3 – September 4! The Senate “State Work Period” is August 10 – September 7.
Call your Congressperson and your Senators to find out when their Town Hall meetings are scheduled for your district!
Then let us all know by posting the date & time so we can help to make sure a large crowd of interested citizens attends.
We need to remind our elected representatives who they represent!

The Tea Party movement and the Ron Paul movement is active and awesome in Louisiana. I don’t care how many of these townhalls they do – we will always show up in force and THEY WILL know they aren’t welcome here.
People are angry here.
Mary Landrieu will NOT vote for Obamacare. I’ll guarantee you that.

I’d like to add that, here in Louisiana, not only were we angry at Kathleen Sebelius was bringing the Obamacare message to our great State …
We’re angry that she had the chutzpah to bring HER FACE here too.
She a left-wing loon. If this were 1776 – we’d have tarred and feathered her and run her out of town in a wheelbarrow the way our forefathers did the Tories back then. Fortunately for her – we’re a bit more civilized now.
She’s not welcome here – neither are the other Obamamunchkins.

I think their choice of Reserve was poor on a number of fronts.
God forbid they’re dumb enough to try and push Cap-and-Trade there.
For those outside of Louisiana, Reserve is a small town in the industrial corridor along the Mississippi River between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
The petrochemical plants in that area produce a huge amount of gasoline and other products for this country and could be tremendously affected by stupid policies like Cap-and-Trade.
