More and more I understand the strange justifiation used for the French Reign of Terror. There are people like Noonan who are so certain they are above everyone else and so completely unaware of just how much their attitude and arrogance grates that I can see where the French were coming from. Slave owners had a similar view of their slaves. Noonan and the rest of the idiots who think they know everything need to be upended onto an island where they have to survive on what they actually know. It would be the perfect object lesson to instruct them that they know less than nothing about the things in this world that matter.

Great post and for those so-called conservative pundits and bloggers who keep saying that Palin doesn’t read or should have resigned because she could write a book or have a defense fund; Palin referenced a fine book in a radio interview, called the “The Thumpin” by Rahm Emmanuel. The book tells the whole tale about how to frustrate political enemies by using lawsuit after lawsuit to bankrupt them. She also made mention of Saul Alinsky’s rules for radicals, that also apparently have rules that also promote the same tactics. Let’s see how the elite bloggers and pundits digest that new information in their analysis of what Sarah Palin did to get out from under the thumb of her adversaries. Are these so-called conservatives going to join the fight or continue to tst-tst this fine woman.

Peggy Noonan is the epitime of the RINO Republican elites that OF COURSE would hate ANY REAL conservative.

Everything to these peopleare nuance, nuance, nuance. Peggy loves smooth talkers who can talk out of both sides of their mouth like Obama. She has no values or principles.

Yes she wrote speeches for Reagan – evidently she didnt learn anything.

If McCain had won and resigned leaving Sarah as president, she would have had to contend with the likes of SF Nan and Dingy Harry. Any real conservative changes would have to wait until 2010 or later. A bland, pleasant moderate Rep…such as Mitt? Who does Peg have in mind that may be on the horizon? Sarah will clean their clocks. I think clock cleaning is a middle class profession.

She is not working class, never was, and even she, avid claimer of advantage that she is, never claimed to be and just lets others say it. Her father was a teacher and school track coach, her mother the school secretary. They were middle-class figures of respect, stability and local status.

Funny, every time I hear someone bloviate about Obama’s supposed genius or supposed unique talents or inherent specialness, I think back to Calvin Coolidge.

Specifically, this bit:

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race”

Which, for a dead white dude, is pretty accurate.

I’m beginning to think that the reason all those buildings in Washington (and Sacramento) are marble and granite is not primarily because of the monumental egos within. There’s a more practical reason: if they’re made of stone then the mobs of citizens with pitchforks and torches can’t burn them down with the vermin trapped within.

There is a political class in this country that believes itself superior to the taxpayers on the hook for it all. Obama’s a member of this class, Noonan’s another. Palin is not. And that political class has not exactly been endearing themselves to the average voter lately.
