Worse than waterboarding?

Ah, remember the good old days when the left enjoyed such a sense of moral outrage about the abuse of poor, innocent Muslims? These days, not so much. We were treated to a nearly eight-year long collective howl of outrage, at the center of which was waterboarding. If not for the blood, you’d almost think someone was about to dump a bucket of water in this young woman’s face.
This week, given the comparatively muted reaction of the left to the Iranian protests, I wonder if the outrage quota for the decade has been met. Where are the Berkeley protesters with papier mache puppets of Ahmadinejad and the Ayatollah? Why isn’t Code Pink marching around in front of the White House with signs demanding that we rebuke the Iranian government? If she’d been waterboarded, maybe the left would despise the Iranian government at least as much as they do Dick Cheney, instead of maintaining silence while we welcome its representatives to a party.
