Iran So Far Away, and Obama’s in the Mahmoud for a Melody

Columnist Charles Krauthammer said on Fox News that he fears Obama, by saying next to nothing about the election unrest in Iran, is letting a potentially pivotal moment in history fall by the wayside.
Here are the most powerful words Obama has said concerning Iran to date — and keep in mind that, as Krauthammer said, this has the potential to be a pivotal moment in history:
“It is up to Iranians to make decisions about who Iran’s leaders will be. We respect Iranian sovereignty and want to avoid the United States being the issue inside of Iran.”
That’s music to the ears… of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. How inspiring those words must be to fighters for freedom inside Iran who may be looking to the U.S. for at least moral encouragement.
In George W. Bush’s second inaugural speech, he said this:
“All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: the United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you.”
If Obama’s teleprompter wrote that, it would read like this: “What are you lookin’ at me for? The U.N. sent a strongly worded letter several days ago…”
Obama’s message to Iranians seeking liberty and justice is clear: You’re on your own! Maybe it’s because they remind him way too much of those darn tea partiers.
Can you imagine this president in other pivotal moments in history?
Obama as Ronald Reagan: Mr. Gorbachev, this wall, with the weather conditions around here and because of global warming, will eventually fall on its own, so don’t worry about it…
Obama as Winston Churchill: We shall fight on the beaches; we shall fight in the fields and in the streets; we shall fight on the landing grounds; we shall fight in the hills — we shall never surrender our quest for national health care. The Germans? That’s another story…
Obama as JFK: Eich bin ein community organizer!
And of course, Obama as General Barack Hussein ObaMacArthur:

I love this quote. I know we’ll never hear anything like it from Obama:
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
