Obama Children Were Campaign Props!!1!

Keith Olbermann – wait, let me explain. No, there is too much – let me sum up. Outside the far left and people who oppose the far left, most people don’t know who Mr. Olbermann is, so a brief explanation is in order. He’s a left-wing news commentator given to unhinged screeds on MSNBC, which is a channel that attempts to compete with Fox News.  But I’ll give credit where it’s due: Olbermann has dominated in the far-left and people-who-enjoy-rubbernecking-at-accidents niche markets for years.  Newsbusters sometimes features His Unhingedness, so you may have read about him there, or on this website featuring his hypocrisy and lies.

Well, it turns out that Olby, who has a raging case of Palin Derangement Syndrome, has once again beclowned himself, and is leading the leftist crowd in asserting that Sarah Palin shamelessly used her family as campaign props, and therefore the Palin family deserves whatever they get.  In contrast (they claim) the Obamas zealously protected their children from the public eye, and consequently remains off limits.

In response to Sarah Palin’s comment that David Letterman’s degrading joke about the statuatory rape of Willow Palin was unacceptable and part of the culture that results in the low self-esteem of young girls, Olby ranted:

OLBERMANN: How about the self-esteem of young girls who were trotted out onto the political stage by a mother who treats them like props? When does somebody tell mothers or fathers that that is not acceptable?

Olby outright lies at this point:

The difference being the Obama girls also did not travel with their father on the campaign trail, they stayed behind to attend school in Chicago. And when NBC News spent an entire day at the White House, its request to interview or film the girls politely declined. When you want your children declared off-limits, the way to start that is to start it yourself.

Back in 2008 candidate Obama regularly, shamelessly trotted them out before the cameras, like when Sasha campaigned in Indiana.   Remember Sasha and Malia Obama in this People magazine exclusive and this Access Hollywood show?

Remember the loads of interviews and intimate details of their family life?

And look at this little tramp blow a kiss and flirt!

** FILE ** In this Aug. 25, 2008 file photo, Sasha Obama, 7, daughter of then Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., blows a kiss to her dad, while he addresses the gathering via-satellite at the Democratic National Convention in Denver. Looking on are Michelle Obama, left, wife of the president elect, and daughter Malia, 10. Malia and Sasha Obama are unquestionably the world’s most famous tweens, and they haven’t even moved into the White House yet.

Hasn’t anyone told her that such behavior makes her fair game for aged, vile, misogynistic comedians? Kathleen Parker says so, so it must be true.

Campaign props, indeed.  Sorry, Mr. Olbermann, but you really can’t sweep this down the memory hole.  According to the standards being declared by the left, Sasha and Malia are fair game.  Is that really how you want to play it?

The idea that Willow and Bristol Palin deserve any sort of harsh treatment because of their mother is an outrage.  The idea that we should let this blow over is worse.  As Bobby Calvan demonstrated, the left continually relies on the good behavior of those whom they attack.  Remember, he’s the reporter who felt perfectly safe in verbally abusing a soldier for doing his job and requesting Calvan’s identification, famously declaring he “had nothing to lose.”  Calvan relied on the soldier’s professionalism, even in the face of a whiny leftist tantrum.

Our side wants to be the grown-ups, the responsible ones who “rise above” the left’s bad behavior and “take the high road.”  Our self-image relies on it.  The left, on the other hand, does what it takes to win.  Imus and Rush and Trent Lott lose their jobs because of comments related to race.  The “womyn’s liberation” left regularly indulges in misogynistic, hateful remarks and people shrug.  John Hawkins was spot-on when he wrote

“Too often today, liberals are using below-the-belt tactics against conservatives and paying no price whatsoever. Meanwhile, those on the right like to pat themselves on the back for being above it all. This is like a boxer priding himself on never taking off his gloves while his opponent nearly beats him to death with his bare firsts. But in the end, there’s not much to be said for lovable losers. Conservatives should realize that fair play isn’t going to pay any dividends.

While we conservatives don’t have to stoop quite as low as the left has, we do need to start giving them a taste of their own medicine, if only to make them think twice about the way they’re treating our side.”

Somehow, it’s become an accepted “fact” that we’re required to just sit and take this crap.  That the left is entitled to a different standard than that which is applied to the right.  Whether or not Letterman loses his job is besides the point.  In many ways, it benefits us more to have him carry on with his lunacy right in front of the few viewers he has left.  He’ll certainly keep us supplied with ammunition to fire back at the left.  IF we’ll only fire it back!  The reason the left hates and fears Sarah Palin so much is she’s a fighter; where McCain accepted defeat, shrugged and moved on to the next argument, she kept on hammering Obama.  We need to step up and fight alongside her, and make the left finally pay the price for their unhinged behavior.

Also – I corrected the spelling of Malia’s name.  I don’t know why I keep typing Mahlia.

Laura, you nailed it!

I can’t add anything of value, you have said it all very expertly.

As as far as Letterman’s sponsors go, there is one angle nobody seems to be noticing. It’s Letterman’s off-air passion, his love, close to his heart.

It’s called Rahal-Letterman Racing.

A one team IndyCar league operation with Indy racing legend Bobby Rahal. They have also expanded into the American LeMans Series sports car endurance racing.
They are using the brand new BMW M3 race car.
BMWUSA has the team featured with their own section of the corporate website.

The teams in both Indy and ALMS have other sponsorships, without which they cannot afford this very expensive hobby. It costs a lot to show up, much less be competing for a chance to win. I don’t know how Bobby Rahal feels about all of this, but it might be interesting to get him and the valuable sponsors he has lined up to go on the record.

In this economic environment, racing sponsorships are harder than ever to come by, and you can’t do much racing without them.

Just thought you all might want to know about this.

Why would an intelligent person know what Kiss Olberman (or Andi Sullivan, or Deviant Loserman, or …) said?
