Too many of its dire predictions have failed to materialize over the past decades for anyone to take it seriously. I speak as a former believer who is mad at having been duped (in my defense, I was 9 when I first heard about it) and mad at the great many new dupes who seem to buy into this lie every day. But I now live comfortably on an island that, according to some GW prophets, should have sunk into the sea decades ago. If you really want people to stop believing in GW, then instead of science, we should be cataloging all the failed predictions over the past few decades. Only then will people realize how little trust these monsters are worth. No one over 30 should believe in Climate Change aka Global Warming aka The Greenhouse Effect.
