Good editorial. Deaths from newer cars is tragically under reported.

If I may:

I’ve been wanting to try out the Forhan Plan on any of my wife and my liberal friends, should the subject of CAFE standards come up. It’ll save 5-7 MPG while giving the driver more control over his or her car and saving an average of $1500 per vehicle:

Mandatory manual transmissions.

I think I’m mostly curious if these people would be willing to give up their automatics and learn how to drive sticks.
