Obama’s “Honest Day’s Work”

President Obama’s Notre Dame speech is fisk-worthy blog fodder, but rather than try to tackle the whole disingenuous address, I will just take note of one absolutely shameless statement.  Obama’s back-patting for his own (completely ineffective) community organizing aside, his complaint about

an economy where greed and short-term thinking were too often rewarded at the expense of fairness, and diligence, and an honest day’s work.

is just shameless.  That’s rich, coming from a man whose family was mired in debt to support an unsupportable lifestyle just a couple of years ago, and whose wife held a high-pay, low-work job so “essential” to her employer that they eliminated it after the election.  I guess in Mrs. Obama’s absence the hospital found new ways to deny their services to poor, black people who needed health care.

If the President wants to address the topic of greed and the lack of fairness, diligence and honesty, he can begin at home.

I will give him credit for honesty on one issue, though: the topic of abortion IS way above his pay grade.

Blowback

Oh, don’t sell them short, r keller… they don’t just lust for power, they’re also greedy. Socialism doesn’t entirely eliminate wealth. It transfers it to the oligarchy, as Castro, Chavez, and thousands of apparatchiks in socialist countries could testify.

Too bad an aborted child never had a chance to be greedy or have a short-term thought.

Don’t forget that everyone should have a personal aid and to give as she spoke at that college. I wonder if she GAVE those 500 dollar sneakers away? Didn’t they GIVE less than 1% to charity the years before Obama ran for president?

HYPOCRISY, the gift that keeps on taking.
