Biden vs Bo

posted at 2:35 pm on May 13, 2009 by

All of the media coverage on Monday was so swamped with news/gossip from the Correspondents’ Dinner, I completely missed this. (I re-scanned the archives and headlines for the week and surprisingly, didn’t see it — hopefully it’s not old news.)

Joe Biden gave the commencement address at Syracuse University on Sunday, and stopped to chat with some kids from a local elementary school after he was finished. One of them asked him about dogs.

“Yeah, but guess what? I’ve got a dog that lives with me,” Biden replied. “The smartest, coolest dog in the world.”

Everybody thinks they have the best dog in the world, of course. But does he leave it at that? How can you even ask that?

“The new dog I have is only five months old and his name is Champ,” Biden told the schoolkids.

“My dog is smarter than Bo, his dog,” he jabbed.

Awesome. I love this guy.

Sure, sure. Of course Sarah would have been a better VP. But then where would we get our entertainment? Biden gives Obama more abuse than the entire mainsteam media combined.

True, Biden is a writer’s blessing!

Nice to see Joe’s out of his protective gear and mingling with the swine-flu infected general population again.

Champ is smarter than Joe.

Big deal. I’ve got a border collie that’s smarter than Biden. She couldn’t be a cabinet member in this administration though. She’s never been indicted and she doesn’t cheat on her taxes.

Along the lines of what I was thinking.

Joe Biden seem to love his dog. Stupid. 800 comments. And… go!

radiofreevillage on May 13, 2009 at 7:43 PM

I think it’s a well-established truth that anyone in the Biden household possesses a superior intellect.

Bwahahahahahahaha!

I think I’ve got a pair of socks somewhere that are smarter than Joe Biden. They’re not nearly as funny, but they’re waaaay smarter.

I leave stuff in the toilet that’s smarter than Barry and Joe and Michelle…combined.

Biden’s dog got better grades in law school. (Than Obama did.)

I just realized that BO is short for Barack Obama.

Buy Danish on May 13, 2009 at 9:54 PM

I gotta’ give Joe a mighty big pass on this one. At least he got a dog from a great breed (German shepherd) and gave it a normal, non-self aggrandizing name.

Y-not on May 13, 2009 at 10:07 PM

Effortlessly clueless. And they made him vice president on purpose. I just wish I could figure out what purpose

Biden gives Obama more abuse than the entire mainsteam media combined.

I think sometimes Biden sees Obama for what he really is, can’t help himself, and just blurts out what he’s thinking. Recall the comment he made about Easter? “He thinks it’s about him [Obama].”

That makes him the perfect VP for Obama, IMO.

Daggett on May 13, 2009 at 10:32 PM

All of my dogs are bilingual, is Bo?

Joe really can’t be blamed for this one. I mean he asked Bo “What’s another name for celing?” and Bo replied “roof!” Joe then asked Bo, “What does sandpaper feel like?” and Bo replied “rough!” Joe finally asked Bo “Who was the best baseball player who ever lived?” and Bo replied “Ruth!”
And Champ just shook his head and said, “Seriously? what about Aaron?”

DrAllecon on May 14, 2009 at 12:08 AM

It is frightening how childish and insecure or VP is.
