The White House, after initially classifying all “official” photos of the nearly $400,000 747 flyover stunt near Manhattan that embarrassed the administration and freaked out lots of New Yorkers, has agreed to release “a photo,” according to Robert Gibbs at a press briefing yesterday.

I don’t know which picture they’ll release, but I do know which one they won’t declassify:

Nice work! Maybe Lady Liberty should be holding a jar of Grey Poupon in her other hand…

Of course, the photo they REALLY won’t release is the one showing the interior of Air Force One, and who was riding in it. I suspect that even Obama’s decidcated glee club of fawning journalists wouldn’t be able to prevent that one from crippling, or even ending, his administration.

You know, if this truly WAS an ariel photo op, all they really need to do is release a few beauty shots of the plane, a couple with the fighters, sun glinting off a wingtip over the skyline…. Might actually be some cool shots at that!

They do that, it goes away. They’ll get a mulligan for stupidity, but “prove” it was with the Best Intentions(tm). Vow it never happens again.

Instead, like every other problem with every other Administration, they cover up, duck and dodge, which only feeds into the “Ariel Lincoln Bedroom” theories.
