Impure Thoughts About Jessica Valenti

Don’t let the headline alarm you. God forbid I should ever be accused of concupiscent interest in an ugly feminist. (Is “ugly feminist” redundant? Talk amongst yourselves.) Jessica Valenti’s appearance on NBC’s “Today” show last week to promote her idiotic new book, The Purity Myth, inspired a post by Cassy Fiano, which in turn inspired me to wonder: Why is teen sex now a matter of political controversy?

Let’s face it, if Valenti’s ideology is embraced by liberals, this will certainly make matters simple for horny teenage boys looking for an easy score. How can you tell which girls put out? They’re the ones whose moms have Obama stickers on their minivan bumpers. Like the Democratic Party’s economic agenda, Valenti’s misnamed “pro-sex feminism” strikes me as a campaign against common sense:

Common-sense observations about human nature are now politicized as “conservative,” so that every knocked-up 15-year-old can be said to be engaged in liberal activism and her baby-daddy is a “community organizer” of sorts. One imagines that nowadays the high-school Lothario, encountering resistance as he tries to get to second base with his would-be conquest, chides his prey: “What are you? Some kind of Republican?”

Feel free to read the rest.

You say ugly, I’d still hit it.

My sympathies. By Wisconsin standards, I suppose, Jessica Valeni might be considered “attractive.”

Methinks Ms. Valenti hath penis envy.

Might it not be empowering to women to demand men raise their standards (ie, a “slut” is a “slut” no matter what)?

Classy.

Being blog buddies with Wisconsinites Troglopundit and personal friends with Sean Hackbarth, I routinely insult Wisconsin, and they routinely respond with hillbilly incest/outhouse jokes. It’s a shtick.
