Term Limits

Janet Napolitano issued a non-apology to veterans for the DHS smear job against them and all right-wingers.
To the extent veterans read it as an accusation, an apology is owed.
If you’re not offended, we’re not sorry.
We greatly respect our veterans and we have a number of veterans in our department as well as in the entire Coast Guard within our department.
Some of my best friends are black!
So there’s probably no department in the United States government that has so many military as opposed to the department of Defense, as the department of homeland security. However, this was an assessment, not an accusation. It was limited to extremists, those who seek to commit violence within the United States and all this was meant to do was to give law enforcement what we call situational awareness. Some of the things that go on, some of the things that have happened in the past, that could recur, that people just need to be aware of.
She references Tim McVeigh. No mention of radical Islamists with a far longer history of violence, mosques distributing radical, hateful literature which advocates violence – and is often funded by our best good buddy, Saudi Arabia. No suggestion in that report that somebody should be keeping a close eye on CAIR. No mention of radical environmental and animal-rights groups that commit felonies on a regular basis.
She defends it as a “pretty straightforward analysis.” While her fears are unfounded, I can understand why liberals worry. In the unlikely event that a rogue group of commandos suddenly started assassinating members of Congress, as in the popular Vince Flynn book Term Limits, most people – while decrying the violent, third world nature of it – would feel the results were an improvement.
Government spending is at unprecedented levels, entitlement spending is through the roof, and Chuck Schumer openly brags about how they’re going to waste our money and asserts that people don’t care. Of course they’re concerned about a reaction.
And given the left’s history of committing violence, encouraging violence, and excusing violence, that’s exactly what they expect from us.
Relax, Janet. Nobody’s got you folks in the cross-hairs. That’s just not how we roll.

“To the extent…”
Now, that is an apology.
Might as well have said, “Oops, sorry ’bout that.”
I have to believe the DHS report was intentionally “leaked” or released by DHS to convince law enforcement agencies around the country to approach mayors and city managers to revoke licenses and permits for Tea Parties in the spirit of community safety and prevention of mass casualties. Any tactic to derail the Tea Parties…and the Right of Americans to peacefully assemble and demand redress from their government.
It didn’t work. More people showed up in more locations than originally imagined…and peacefully across the board.
Sorry, Janet…you blew it.
Your apology is worthless. As a veteran, and an American, I am still offended.

I’m looking forward to July 4th, if we protest again. The left’s collective head will explode – no “reichwing” violence necessary.

She’s like the thief who isn’t sorry he stole, but is tremendously sorry he got caught.
