They tried this crap in Colorado. They wanted the taxpayers to pay to build a monorail up the I-70 corridor into the mountains. Problem is there is no monorail or mag-lev train in existance that could pull the grade. So they expected us to fork out $50 million just to try to design the train first.

Just think of the years and years of employment for the lawyers and land experts as the right-of-way is acquired through all that farm country, private ownership and small towns.

The costs of acquisition would be staggering. Thought of the court costs alone for the eminent domain challenges, much less the delays to the project, makes my brain hurt.
