I’m a day late to it, but it looks like the notorious Nancy Pelosi takes the fame-cake from among her fellow Congressional leaders — and not really in a good way. Via Gallup:

The top Republican and Democratic leaders in the U.S. House and Senate are a generally unpopular foursome, with Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi being the most well-known, but also the least well-liked. Thirty-one percent of Americans view Pelosi favorably and 48% unfavorably. Her resulting net -17 image score compares with -11 for Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, -10 for Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner, and -8 for Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

According to the April 11-14 Gallup poll, 79% of Americans have some impression of Pelosi — favorable or unfavorable — while 21% do not, either because they have no opinion about the California congresswoman and former House speaker, or because they have never heard of her. Overall recognition of Pelosi compares with 72% for Boehner, 65% for Reid, and 60% for McConnell. …

Pelosi also rates as the most polarizing of the four congressional leaders, a distinction she also held the last time all four were rated, in May 2010. …

Makes sense, seeing as how she was the figurehead of the Congress that rammed through the ObamaCare legislation without a singular Republican vote, one of the bigger factors behind the midterm “shellacking” Democrats received in 2010 — except that Minority Leader Pelosi doesn’t actually happen to see it that way.

REPORTER: “In terms of this health care issue that’s come up now, obviously 2010 the health care issue did a number on your party, are you worried that the way Republicans are spinning this right now is that Democrats in Congress won’t even subject their own employees to their health care law? Could that have ramifications in the 2014 election?”

REP. NANCY PELOSI: “That won’t be happening. The bill has been written. It’s a question of interpretation, and we want everybody to be treated the same. I do not subscribe to the notion that we did not win the election because of the health care bill. If we did, for tens of millions of Americans to have health care was well worth any of our political careers in my view.”

I just can’t imagine why she’s still the least popular Congressional leader, when she turns out brilliant gems like these on the regular. …Do you think maybe she’s trolling us?
