Right now, there are Republicans who have been convicted and sent to jail for refusing to comply with Congressional subpoenas. 

We have been endlessly told that if you do so, you should be held in contempt and go to jail, and if you are a Republican that is bound to happen.

Not so, though, if you are a Democrat. In fact, the Justice Department will run cover for you, ignore criminal referrals, and in the case of Merrick Garland who was just held in contempt, write elegant and unpersuasive memos explaining why the rules don't apply to Democrats.

There is, of course, nothing surprising about this nor anything to see here. We have that on good authority--every MSM outlet in the country is quite happy to explain to you that anything the Republicans do is pure, unadulterated, and illegitimate politics, and anything any Democrat in favor with the Establishment does, regardless of how unlawful, is perfectly acceptable. 

Occasionally a Democrat that is out of favor with the Establishment will be tossed to the sharks--Senator Menendez comes to mind, but Democrats have had it in for him for years. 

When a Democrat can't escape entirely, as with Hunter, we are given a perfectly amazing spin. Hunter is a "child" of the president and should be off limits (sure thing), and the real story is about a fathers' love for his son. And who hasn't been addicted to sex and crack, blown through millions of dollars, fathered a child with a stripper and denied responsibility, sold influence to China and Ukraine, and committed hundreds of felonies on camera?

It's appalling that anybody would even take notice. I mean, look at Don Jr. He has an awful haircut! 

The whole "father's love of his son" angle is especially galling. I suspect that most fathers of convicted felons wish their sons hadn't been convicted. 

This gets me to my point: every time you hear a media mouthpiece or a Democrat start speaking, assume that they are lying. 

It's not that they always are, but you have to remember that they don't use language as most of us do: to communicate ideas. 

The fundamental idea behind critical theory--the core ideology behind modern leftism--is that language is not about communication but about power. Therefore there really are no such things as truth or falsehood, merely effective or ineffective means of persuasion. 

Therefore you cannot ever assume that they are using a word in the way we commonly understand it. This is how calling a man dressed as a woman a man becomes "genocide" or "erasure."

If you say that a trans 'woman' is a man, you are erasing him and an entire people. Genocide. 

You see? "Genocide" to most of us means something specific: the effort to wipe out a group of people. To the Left, "genocide" is not a concept in itself, but an emotionally laden term that they can use to slander their enemies. 

You can take absolutely NOTHING a Lefty says literally because they do not believe in truth. 

So all those pieties about nobody being above the law, or everybody who is voted to be in Contempt of Congress belongs in jail? That was a "truth" when it helped them, and not a "truth" when it didn't. 

This is the essence of modern leftist thought, or "critical theory." Everything is about power, and they want you in theirs.
