Or junior high, whatever. ABC7 in LA has a report on what happened outside the school yesterday. Click here and choose “A Volatile Situation” in the sidebar. (The other clip, “Principal Answers Charges”, doesn’t load. Update: Yeah, it does. Try it in IE. It’s not very interesting, though.)
The important stuff comes at the end. According to the clip, the school’s charter is up in December … annnnnd, it’s not doing so well academically. Here’s their API base report for 2004; note the statewide rank. Follow the link at the bottom of the page and you’ll see this is one case where you don’t want to be number “1″.
I guess the lesson here is that knowing the Aztec word for “honky” doesn’t really help much with algebra. Viva Aztlan!

“Principal Answers Charges” is loading now. Seems the Principal has a long history of “activism”…and of course, he denies that the person who assaulted the reporter is connected to the Academia.

I used to drive by this school everyday on my way to work. It’s really not that big. It is in a bad neighborhood. The irony is that if you go one mile up the road where all the Chinese families live, you have one of the best performing schools in the state.

We’re going about this the wrong way. Wanna settle the whole issue? Offer statehood to Mexican states. Let President Fox start worrying about that instead of our fence. Let the California Senatorial Divas consider Chihuahua, Sonora and Baja each having the same number of votes as they do. Somehow I see America First as the end result.

Mmmm…as I said… had it been a WHITE school teaching segragation…let’s see…Jessie Jackson…Al Sharpton…every Democrat politician would be screaming. The Federal Government (FBI) would already be inside the school, and the school would be shut down. This is not a stretch…it would really happen. But…this is what is going to bring our country down..this attitude that anything “white” is open season…anything else…shut up or you’re a racist.

You know what they call UIC today? The University of Indians and Chinese…LOL
I attended my daughter’s graduation from the college of Engineering. Out of a couple hundreds of graduates, I saw almost half are Asians.
Soon UIC will be segregated too….but in a good way.
Let them be….we may have a cesspool here and there, but some where in this great country of ours we are growing beautiful flowers. True assimilation is by choice and it requires tolerance.

To just say…Let It Be…is to be our out of touch president Jorge Boosh…”everything will be fine on border..no problem…trust me” This problem is not going away no matter how far down you want to stick your head in the sand. I hope this school gets shut down after December. I can’t believe that the government is supporting this school. It shows you what government schools have become. It just worries me of where this country’s public education is heading to.

Don’t go to their restaurants for one. It’s pretty obvious here in Dallas who’s hiring illegals. When you go to a Mexican or Tex-Mex Restaurant and the guy who brings you water can’t answer your request for, “some silverware please”…illegal.

Califoria is pretty hardcore about not letting it’s citizens arm to protect themselves, maybe they need to rethink this. I have a feeling that running away from these types and then giving up the tape wouldn’t happen here in Indiana. We may have been able to identify the assailant here, dead in the street.
I just can’t believe the way we have all turned into a bunch of wimps waiting for someone else to protect us. It is time to stand up and make a difference.

And I want to make it clear that Chicanos and Mexican Americans are two drastically different groups. Mexican Americans are hispanics that have been here for more than 2 or 3 generations; say, some 30-50 generations. After the border changed between the US and Mexico they, Mexican Americans, became totally disjoint from Mexico.
They have no family in Mexico or family ties in Mexico. Also, it would be difficult to find that their relatives have married people from Mexico. They don’t cross the border to marry. They’ve never been to Monterrey or El Districto. These people speak English and are totally assimilated. And quite frankly, many that I still know from Texas to California marry Caucasian fiances.
They are embarrassed at the behavior of Illegals and Chicanos (Mecha, LuLAC types). These Mexican Americans, they love wearing Abracrombie and Fitch. Sadly some 50% of them don’t speak Spanish - a necessary skill should they visit Spain someday.
These people are totally disrespected by Illegals and the Mexico Elite (the elite that visit the States to shop for designer clothing) if it is evident that the Mexican America doesn’t know Spanish too well.
Prior to this “2006 Illegal-fest” Mexican Americans were “Gringos or Gringas” just because we didn’t understand Spanish as well as those from South of the Border… However, now… only now, do those Illegals and Foreigners want to stop calling us Gringos and admit that we are hispanics as they are… for their convenience. (Btw, I’m well aware that Illegals, Chicanos don’t like the term “Hispanic”. Put a lid on it. They like to use the term “Mestizo”. Hehe)
A Chicano will enjoy going to a Low Rider car show, a Lulac/Mecha convention, they will even wear a Che Guevarra T shirt and not know anything about his politics or his killings. A Mexican America on the other hand will side with Cuban Americans when Che and Fidel Castro are brought into the convervation.
Mexican Americans are rarely approached by illegals since they carry themselves in a manner that identifies them as assimilated and American. The Chicano will be approached by illegals but will be promptly ridiculed when it’s apparently that they don’t know spanish.
I happen to be a Mexican American that knows spanish well. For you Caucasians - learn the language it’s a great tool.

Wait a minute here. Where is all of this coming from, what am I missing? Just because you are Chicano does not mean that you are part of this radical crap. Just because one is white does not mean that they are a Neo-Nazi? Just because I say Chicano does not mean that you can apply radicalism to the whole.
ar_basin your argument could be a true representation of this radical group, but I am not a part of that nor do agree with what these radicals are doing.
From what I have learned.. class work and my own history/perception of my own heritage is that Chicanos are a subgroup that have a different cultural than that of Mexicans from Mexico. Different langue, food, they are from Mexico, Chicanos are not. If you choose to call yourself a Mexican-American or Hispanic, or Latina/o or Chicano is up to you. It’s the same as Black, Afro-American, White, Caucasian…. And so on.
All I was trying to do was point out a difference. Because the Mexican illegal’s and this radical group are two different issues and I don’t want us to identify them as the same because its important that we take care of both. Please point me where I went wrong in doing so? I am open to the discussion.

Okay, first of all Mexican is not a language and the same goes for Cuban…. one doesn’t speak Mexican or, say, Cuban they speak Spanish.
Secondly, I made my distinction between Mexicans, illegals, chicanos and Mexican Americans; however, I don’t agree with you using the language that you chose, namely: “that nasty Mexicos disease infested people”.
First of all, are you telling me that only Mexicans from Mexico have TB, Hepatitis, Diabetes, etc? I know some caucasians that each have a couple of those illnesses in Texas, your home state.
Btw, people in Spain and people with Spanish roots are also infested with those illnesses, hehe.

I understand Spanish fairly well.
In the past I would speak spanish to those that didn’t know english.
That stopped the day the illegal protesters took to the streets.
