One nice thing about Galloway is that he doesn’t stop at apologizing for monsters; he slobbers over them, which makes him that much easier to ridicule. Note the insistence on addressing Castro as “commandante.” And then there’s this. “If loving you is wrong, I don’t want to be right…”
Mmmmm, that’s good propaganda. Meanwhile, in Iran, a woman with a southern accent appears on state TV to apologize for George Bush. Call her the fourth Dixie Chick. Click for video:
Something about that clip strikes me as very odd. I googled “Alice Stephens” and got a hit for a college administrator in Arkansas, but (a) it doesn’t look like the same woman to me, and (b) based on her CV, she has no expertise or interest in the Middle East generally or Iran in particular. So who’s the woman in this clip? And whoever it is, is she speaking voluntarily or, as I suspect, do we have Jill Carroll redux here?
Update: Perhaps I spoke too soon. Rusty did some googling and came up with this. Do a search inside the document for “Stephens” and see where it takes you.

I would like to apologize for this loon running her mouth. We accidently let her out of the rubber room when we were cleaning it. She wondered off while we were waxing the floor, and we didn’t notice for a while. You did do a nice job of wiping the drool off her chin though.

I know the Left Looooooves Communists-haven’t they been trying for decades to incorporate the Communist ideals and agenda into our Democratic countries? I’m amazed that the cult of Castro has been allowed to hold Cuba-and it’s dismaying to see Galloway and others treat Castro as a Statesman. Actually, I guess it’s true, as HE IS the State. Following in the footsteps of Syria and North Korea dictators, I imagine one of his sons-in a communist state where all are equal-will be found to be more equal than the rest of the population, and will inherit Cuba as a gift from dear old dead dad.
Saddam Hussein probably would have bequeathed Iraq to his double-dement twins Ud and QU if they hadn’t preceded him to Hell, and if we hadn’t deposed him. Think of what Iraq would have been like in their hands. Don’t let anyone tell you that it was a mistake to bring Democracy to Iraq.
I think the world would be a much better place if Fidel Castro and Communism were deposed in Cuba. Castro and Galloway. A tyrant and a sycophant.
Since Russia fell I’ve been waiting for Cuba to do likewise.
May it happen soon.

The backgroud of the woman in the U of AR photo and the woman of the same name described in the Wall Street Journal articel don’t seem to match.
The Alice Stephens in the article is 57. Her daughter Anne is 23 “double-majored in government/foreign affairs and French. For her senior thesis, she looked at how international courts deal with crimes against humanity. She believes that if the Germans and Japanese had won World War II, there might have been calls, citing international law, for U.S. leaders to be tried as war criminals for the bombings of Dresden and Tokyo, and for using two atomic bombs. “I’m turned off by people who believe the U.S. is always right,” she says…”
