Announcement: Going Red website now live!

posted at 3:46 pm on February 4, 2016 by Ed Morrissey

My, how time flies! The release date for my book GOING RED: The Two Million Voters Who Will Elect the Next President–and How Conservatives Can Win Them is just a couple of months away, but we’re hitting milestones quickly on the path to wide release. Media review copies have begun to go out; some blurbs have already come back from well-known commentators. I’ll speak at CPAC panels and media hits in March about the book, and the first events for the book tour are getting cemented into the schedule as we speak. Over the next three weeks, I’ll be recording the audio version of the book as well.

Today the Crown Forum website for the book went live, at the domain name GoingRedBook.com. The website has numerous options for pre-orders, including for e-book and audible versions. You can find more about upcoming events, plus get the latest reviews on the book. Crown Forum offers this description of GOING RED:

The 2016 election is conservatives’ last, best chance to take back the country. So, how can they win?

The answer, conservative columnist and analyst Ed Morrissey says, depends on seven battleground counties in swing states Republicans must win. Each county pulled for Obama in one or both of the last two elections, but after eight years of misadventures under the Obama administration, the door is open for Republicans to win them—and the presidency—once again, making a decisive mandate against progressivism for the generation to come.

In Going Red, Morrissey takes readers inside the battlegrounds that will decide the election, weaving together data and the stories of people and leaders in these communities to answer the most pressing questions facing conservatives in 2016:

– What went wrong in 2008 and 2012, and how can the party do better in 2016?
– Can Republicans take back crucial swing states like Florida, Ohio, and Virginia?
– Is a Hillary Clinton victory really inevitable?
– How can conservatives reverse their track record with minorities and young voters?

Providing an unparalleled look into the campaign and the thinking of experts from both parties, Going Red is a field guide for taking back the White House and an essential book for anyone who cares about the fate of the Right.

We’ll have more in the coming weeks, and you can also follow @GoingRedBook on Twitter for more news!

It isn’t real until it’s mentioned seven times in your Hugh Hewitt interview.

Congratulations, Ed. Good luck. I guess it’s too late to say the title may not convey what you want it to. I’m an Eeyore. Ignore me. :)

Like, you could have called it “The Tipping Point”. You at least could have gotten some sales out of those thinking it was Gladwell’s book, or from a few waiters thinking it was a way to get more and better tips.

Hopefully it will be a big hit with the Communist Party crowd, fans of the musical group “Simply Red”, and those senior citizen Grateful Dead fans with bad eyesight.

How can conservatives reverse their track record with minorities and young voters?

I look forward to reading Ed’s establishment drivel on how minorities and young voters want more tax cuts for their bosses and more spending on blowing up camel ****ers in the middle east if only Republicans would blow them even harder than McCain did.

Ed gets props for not going for a best seller by catering to the lowest common denominator. It should sell at least 3 copies — the Trump, Cruz, and Rubio campaigns.

Founded in 2002, Crown Forum began as a way to inform and contribute to the national dialogue and political discourse. It is now one of the leading publishers of politically conservative authors and points of view. Our bestselling and influential authors include Charles Krauthammer, Greg Gutfeld, Charles Murray, Ronald Kessler, George Will, Ed Morrissey, Michael Barone, Guy Benson, Mary Katharine Ham, and Chairman Michael McCaul.

Good work, Ed! And in Audiobook edition too (for my weekend listening pleasure).

Guess your fans are burning up the interwebs to buy one…

Oops! Looks like Audiobooks.com is unavailable for the moment. Time to start mashing the refresh button!.

If that doesn’t work, don’t worry: we’re working on it now and should have it up and running again soon. Thanks for your patience.

‘Bout time you produced a book, Ed! Kudos! Although where you found the time to write it is a mystery. Hope Marcia is hanging in there.

There once was a Captain named Ed
He wrote a book called Going Red
The title confused
Poor Ed was abused
Now red describes his bald head.

Good luck, Cap’n.

Or a prequel to Red Dawn?
Wolverines!!!!!

dentarthurdent on February 4, 2016 at 5:48 PM

Well, if one of your counties is Fairfax, Virginia, forget it. Dems have packed it with immigrants from socialist countries and failed states, along with a massive increase in government employees. Vote fraud there is rampant. It’s never going Republican again. Only way to win Virginia is to goose turnout in the rest of the state that isn’t socialist.

rockmom on February 4, 2016 at 5:49 PM

Going red when we seem likely with Rubio or Cruz as the nominees? Even if we win, we’ll lose when they legalize so many illegals.

At least with legal immigrants, we have a shot.

BuckeyeSam on February 4, 2016 at 6:01 PM

Well, if one of your counties is Fairfax, Virginia, forget it.

Nope, not Fairfax. Been solid Democrat for quite some time. If Republicans carry Fairfax, it would only be because of a national landslide win.

Fairfax and Arlington Counties should be given to DC. No need to wait for annexation, just give it to them. No questions asked. Deem it to be passed or sumpn.

Congratulations! I’ll buy one!

Yes, and AP should also write a book, pronto! Problem is, he can’t really pimp the book and remain anonymous, I’m guessing.

John the Libertarian on February 4, 2016 at 7:30 PM

You should also consider writing a book about your faith. Gather all of your Sunday reflections in one volume. I’m not Catholic, but I’d buy that, too.
