Comedy gold: New CNN poll of New Hampshire has Bernie Sanders leading Hillary … by 27 points

posted at 10:01 pm on January 19, 2016 by Allahpundit

Who has the greater tolerance for electoral humiliation, Hillary or Jeb? Until recently I would have said Jeb. Sure, Hillary’s now struggled against upstart challengers in two different primaries where she was heavily favored, but she battled Obama the whole way in 2008 and still leads Bernie Sanders comfortably in most states this year. She’s not being humiliated by the opposition the way Jeb is.

Upon further review, though, she is in fact being humiliated by the opposition the way Jeb is.

This is bananas:

He is viewed favorably by 91 percent of likely Democratic primary voters and unfavorably by 7 percent. His support is strong among both men and women, among all age groups and in all geographic areas of the state…

Clinton was chosen by 55 percent as the candidate best able to handle ISIS, while Sanders was named by 26 percent. But, Sanders was picked by 57 percent as best able to handle the economy, while 33 percent chose Clinton.

Also, Sanders was named by 58 percent as the candidates with “the personal characteristics and qualities that a president should have.” Clinton was named by 33 percent. In December, Clinton was favored in that category, 38 percent to 27 percent…

Sanders appears to be attracting large numbers of voters who have not voted in past primaries. The poll showed him leading 76 percent to 22 percent among voters who did not vote in the 2008 or 2012 presidential primary.

Last May, just eight months ago, Hillary led Sanders 51/13. Today it’s 60/33 for Bernie. There’s been a 65-point swing. In February 2015, Hillary had a net favorability of around +75 while Sanders, a relatively well-known poll from neighboring Vermont, hovered at around +35. Since then:

bs1

But that’s not the craziest trend. This is:

bs2

That’s a measure of perceived electability, supposedly Hillary’s trump card. The 74-year-old avowed socialist is running her off the field. Among women, one of Hillary’s core constituencies, he leads by 14 points. That’s not all that surprising either: A USA Today poll a few days ago found Sanders leading Hillary among Democratic and independent women between the ages of 18 and 34 by 19 points. Granted, no one else has found him ahead by a margin like 27 points in New Hampshire, but the outlier in this case is merely one of degree: Various other polls have put him ahead by double digits. There’s every reason to believe right now that she’s not only going to lose New Hampshire, she’s going to get blown out. And but for one outlier in Iowa this month showing Hillary up 21 points, she and Sanders would either be tied or he’d be slightly ahead there too in the RCP poll average. There’s a serious argument to be made that Sanders, even more so than Trump, is the political phenomenon of the 2015-16 campaign. Who knows? Before long, we may even start seeing a thinkpiece or two about how Berniemania shows that Democrats have veered wildly to the left, the way we always do about Republicans whenever some conservative insurgent gets elected somewhere.

The only thing preventing total panic right now among Democratic leaders is the blind hope that Sanders will hit a wall in South Carolina when black voters there break for Hillary. Sanders is working on that problem, though. We’ll see what happens if he runs the table in the first two states. Here he is at a rally last night in Alabama crowing that the inevitable suddenly doesn’t seem so inevitable anymore. Exit question: How is Sanders winning when he has Republican operatives trying to help him? Usually that’s the kiss of death in a campaign against a top Democrat.

I wonder whether Clinton’s shtick has gotten old with women who remember Lewinsky and the rest from the 1990s, while women 18 to 34 are galled by her enabling or putting up with Bill or both.

And the media are jabbing at the GOP. The media thought they would be covering a coronation. They may have to cover a palace coup.

I think it is very hard to support Trump.

But I have it easy, I could be a Democrat, and I can not imagine under what circumstance I would ever support Hillary’s corruption or Bernie’s socialism.

The only choices this year now… are crazy and crazier!

What happened to those really good strong people running in the GOP Primary?

Someone played the Trump card and the entire world is upside down and skiwampy..

Donald Trump is going to be President. Because he is better than the other choices. Wow.

Haven’t read any of the comments yet, but will do so shortly. I’ve got bigger fish to fry, as here in upland NH it’s 8 degrees with a 20 MPH wind right out of lesterland.

New Hampshire has entire truckloads full of female Democrat voters, including massive populations of bitter old female Democrats in the multiple New Hampshire academic choke points:

1. Dartmouth College. See the Power Line blog, founded and run by Dartmouth roommates from the late 1960s, to see how that centuries-old edifice has been Talibanized in the past couple of years.

2. University of New Hampshire. Lots of female Democrat Paul Krugmans there.

3. KSU and PSU…both were for decades Colleges, but suddenly that term was too JV so they got promoted. Both have been regularly honored as the Best Party Schools in the US by Playboy magazine, but both also have plenty of bitter old Democrat female faculty members.

4. The various “smaller” universities/colleges in NH. See St. Anselm’s, Daniel Webster College, SNHU, et al.

5. New Hampshire also has several large cities with sizable female and minority populations.

6. And getting back to the NH Democrat academics, up here many if not most of them live nowhere near where they “teach”.

They live in RURAL AREAS.

7. Most of the NH Democrats get their “news” from exactly 3 places.

A. NH Public Radio/NPR

B. NH Public TV/PBS

C. The Concord Monitor (the newspaper in the State Capitol)

The only conclusions that can be reached are that

(A) Unless someone here can prove they were at a Hillario performance in NH in person and were knocked out by her honesty and sincerity, all that we can do is rely on this survey, until more of them come out. Seems to me that this new study proves that Hillario’s desperate move to bring her Meal Ticket and her daughter to NH last week to sing her praises blew up on them all like a $1 Monica Lewinsky Cigar.

(B) Hillario is a HORRIBLE CANDIDATE.

According to exit polling by the NY Times, MSNBC and CNN, the Democrats lost the college graduate vote to the Democrats in 2012.

That’s all you need to know, other than the fact that that Democrat Party also increased their already-record share of the high school dropout vote from 70% in 2008 to 80% plus in 2012.

They had already established that benchmark for excellence 16 years ago, when the Inventor of the Internet Al Gore got a for the record (at that time) 60% of the high school dropout vote, while in the process of losing to Chimpy.

And “not trusting old white guys” is total horse hockey, because Hillario is only a handful of years younger than Bernie is. And she has yet to release her full medical history, something that the Democrats would absolutely demand a Rethuglican nominee do. Bernie said the other day he will release his.

Remember, the Democrat Associated Press successfully sued the Bush White House during the 2014 campaign to get Chimpy’s complete military history.

At the very same time, that very same AP successfully colluded with Bush’s Democrat “opponent” to keep his entire military history a secret.

No Double Standard there. Will they apply their same standard on medical histories to all of the Democrat candidates, or only the ones who aren’t Above the Law?

The real concern if Bern is their candidate is what a potential opponent Trump would do. Would one anticipate a rigorous defense of limited government, free market capitalism and the inherent liberty of rugged individualism from Trump in defiance of socialism?

Heck no… Trump would try to “out pledge” Bernie. It would be a contest of who can offer the most outrageous give-aways of the day, right down to the wire. A full blown, 3rd-world disaster campaign for America.

Ya know, usually when socialists take over a country, it takes a while for them to totally ruin it, because it takes a while to run out of other people’s money.
