While we fight over Trump, France closes 3 mosques, finds hundreds of weapons

posted at 2:41 pm on December 9, 2015 by Jazz Shaw

The French have adopted what is clearly a no-nonsense attitude toward radical Islamist terrorism since the Paris attacks and they’re not taking their foot off the gas. As the United States continues to debate over “tone” and how to balance religious liberty and tolerance against domestic security, Francois Hollande’s forces have “cut a few corners” on those subjects and just begun shutting down mosques. At least three of the Muslim houses of worship have been closed already and law enforcement has found a trove of disturbing items among the haul. (Speisa)

Police investigating the Paris terror attacks have shut down three mosques in a series of raids to close the net on Islamic extremists, the Express reports.

Police in France also arrested the owner of a revolver found during Wednesday’s raid, France’s Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said.

Security officials found jihadist documents at the mosque where yesterday’s raids took place.

They have placed nine people under house arrest. Another 22 have been banned from leaving the country Mr Cazeneuve said.

In additon to the mosques, the French have kicked in the doors on 2,235 homes and taken 232 people into custody or placed them on house arrest. More than three hundred weapons were discovered at the mosques. Tom Porter at the International Business Times reports that the trove included 7.62mm ammunition, Kalashnikov rifles and terrorist propaganda videos. And they’re only just getting started. (See edit below)

Hassan El Alaoui, one of France’s chief imams, told Al Jazeera that French authorities were likely to close down more than 100 mosques in the wake of the Paris attacks.

“According to official figures and our discussions with the interior ministry, between 100 and 160 more mosques will be closed because they are run illegally without proper licences, they preach hatred, or use takfiri speech,” he said.

Takfiris are those who accuse fellow Muslims who do not share their hard-line interpretation of the faith of apostasy, and is often used as a pejorative term.

Reports like this likely present a rather awkward challenge for observers in America who are used to a large number of rights which the government isn’t supposed to violate. It’s easy to cheer for the French rooting out that many terrorists and their supporters and removing their ability to launch attacks, but the methods being employed will probably give many Americans pause. First of all, simply having a weapon of any sort is tantamount to a conviction there, so the idea of badgering “law abiding gun owners” is sort of an unknown concept in Paris. And with our First Amendment rights, the idea of armed, uniformed men kicking in the doors of churches of any type and hauling the congregants out to a wagon makes us recoil.

But now even some of their own Imams are estimating that more than 150 more mosques may be closed. France really isn’t all that big… how many mosques do they have? To be fair to the French, though, what else are they supposed to do? They’re physically much closer to the home turf of several terrorists groups and thanks to the EU’s open border policies it’s far easier for the bad guys to move around. They’re dealing with an infestation and it needs to be stamped out. The methods probably appear harsh, but they’re doing what they need to do in order to survive.

Exit question: how will all of Europe’s leaders who screamed about Donald Trump suggesting a temporary ban on Muslim immigration react to this news?

EDIT: Original post incorrectly implied that all the weapons were found in a mosque. The total figure included raids on multiple sites.

A lot of rich, spoiled Westerners simply refuse to believe this.

Most start any discussion of Islam with the axiom that Islam is purely a private spiritual relationship between man and god with way Christianity and Judaism are, as opposed to an aggressive cult-like ideology that exhorts its followers to kill. They simply can’t conceive of this and have convinced themselves that Islam is exactly like Christianity and that all these jihadists are just nutcases who are acting outside the tenets of their faith.

No amount of efforts to persuade them otherwise will work, because the truth is just too scary for them to handle mentally, especially in this era of special snowflakes and safe spaces.

To summarize those links above:

Farook was planning a terrorist attack in 2012 with a third person, the target had been selected, but was ‘spooked’ and called it off.

Farook and Malik were both radicalized for at least two years before they met. Authorities are investigating Malik’s family to see if they were the source of the radicalization and to determine if they are radicalized.

Farook and Malik may have been selected to marry by a group like ISIS for the express purpose of committing a terrorist attack in the US. They were married in August of 2014, one month after Malik arrived in the United States on a K-1 (Fiancee) visa.

It is still undetermined if Farook and Malik became radicalized online or through a family member, friend, or someone at their mosque, or a combination of these entities.

Farook made three bank transfers to his mother, Rafia Farook, in the weeks before the attack of $5,000 each.

Farook made transfered $10,000, possibly to Marquez who turns out to be his brother-in-law once removed.

Marquez, who supplied the rifles for the attack, was married to Raheem Farook’s wife’s sister. They married November 29, 2014, and he became a Muslim convert.

Marquez told ‘friends’ that “Muslims in their own backyard were about to go haywire” and he left a message just prior to committing himself to a mental health facility that read “I’m sorry guys. It was a pleasure.”

Federal agencies, apparently, missed all of this until after the fact and 14 Americans were murdered and 16 more wounded, despite ‘vetting’ Malik for the k-1 visa and failed to act on the information that they did have in their possession.

I think that maybe the reason they were able to catch them within a couple miles of the shooting is that the wife wasn’t a part of the shooting. There were three men who did the shooting. Farook dropped of the other two men and got his wife and headed back to set off the remote devices, but the building walls prevented that from happening.

When Malik filled out her application for the K-1 visa she cited an address. While that address later turned out to be fictitious, the town which she listed as the site of the address was very close to the one in which she was attending university classes, Multan. This region of southern Pakistan, Punjab, is known to be a center of fundamentalism and extremism and has been the site of radicalization, and extremist violence in the past. The Red Mosque itself became notorious after a bloody clash there over Sharia law in Pakistan.

Between the fictitious or erroneous address and the area in which it was supposedly located a flag should have been placed on the visa application for further background investigation.

It is also worth noting that Malik was never interviewed, face to face, with any member of the agency tasked with vetting her visa application.

I respect your caution on many topics.

What I feel – which is not really a defend-able word – is that more Americans are re-evaluating their understanding of Islam, what it means, and are learning that it is not a religion of peace – as DC has lectured us for some time.

Realizing that they have been lied to by the last two administrations – and that the third one back was bought off by the Saudi’s – they no longer believe DC. They aren’t quite to the point of letting their minds run wild, but it is becoming apparent to them that Islam is more like a dangerous virus than a religion, or at least a specific strain of Islam is.

And having been lied to by DC and now having seen Paris and then San Bernardino – and realizing the highly touted vetting process professed by Obama and Hillary doesn’t exist – they are getting worried.

I feel very soon – and Obama will not do anything to stop this because he is blind to it – a majority of Americas will want every Mosque raided – and those found to be doing untoward things leveled – along with a moratorium on any new ones being built along with an end to immigration of anyone from a Muslim majority country.

I’m not saying I agree with that, just that I can see it being felt as necessary and gaining more credible support. And our political elites in DC, the Clintons, GWB, and Obama all share in that blame.

Why is so little attention paid to the fact that Saudi Arabia pays for mosques to be built all over Europe and the United States?

And then Saudi Arabia staff those mosque with Wahhabi Imams?

Some of the Saudi Imams come with translators in the U.S. because the Imams can’t even speak English.

How many mosques in the U.S. would have been built with direct funding from Saudi Arabia? Not many is my guess.

Muslims are different than any other group that ever immigrated to the US: 1) many support Sharia law, 2) subjugation of women, 3) reluctance to immigrate, 4) Islam over everything else, 5) radical mosques and imims, etc., etc., etc.

They do this because the EU nations have turned their eyes away from similar incidents for decades. See Sweden, rape capital of the world, and Rotherham England, pedophile capital of same.

So long as the Muslims stayed in their own communities, they were too much hassle to discipline into conformance with Western values (since they refused to assimilate on their own accord*).
Now that they are attacking OUTSIDE the lines of the no-go areas (instead of just burning down their own neighborhoods), the government has to take notice.

*Yes, I know the French enabled the problem by failing to find employment for the immigrations and allowing them to become so insular, but that doesn’t shift all the blame from the Muslims.

(2) Yes, there are, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan where we had numerous allies and people who helped as guides and translators, most of whom are in significant danger because of it — and who seem to have the most trouble getting visas to come to America, while the unvetted hordes we know nothing about have no problem at all.

So if a total of 163 mosques are “taken out” that would be 7% of those now standing.

Clearly certain mosques were selected… this isn’t just a random search effort.

And, no, it doesn’t justify Trump’s foolishness or the “internment camp” nonsense.

It does justify investigation of what’s going on inside US mosques… we likely have a similar infestation.

Jumpintimmy on December 9, 2015 at 3:01 PM

They were under suspicion already, but there was not popular support for raiding them pre-emptively, as is also the case here.

Wiki says that there are currently (Nov 2015) 64,386,000 people in mainland France; close to 69 mil with the overseas departments and territories.

As of 2004, French conservative think-tank Institut Montaigne estimated that there were 60 million (85%) white people of European origin, 6 million (10%) North African people, 2 million (3.5%) Black people and 1 million (1.5%) people of Asian origin in Metropolitan France, including all generations of immigrant descendants.[23]

Due to a law dating from 1872, the French Republic prohibits performing census by making distinction between its citizens regarding their race or their beliefs.[36]

The north African countries are overwhelmingly Muslim. That’s very roughly 2600 worshippers per mosque: I wonder how they get all of them in?

AesopFan on December 9, 2015 at 6:50 PM

We’ve spent the last day hearing from anti-Trumpers that Muslims are peace-loving people Just Like Us, and that any effort to restrict Muslim immigration or any investigation of mosques is (somehow) an unconstitutional violation of the first amendment.

On the contrary, this absolutely justifies what Trump has been saying.

I’m wondering if this will be the new GOP position going forward. “Of course Trump’s remarks were horrible and racist. I propose the much more moderate position of halting all Muslim immigration to the US and also closing down terrorist mosques.”

NOVEMBER 29, 2015 6:17 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER 50 COMMENTS

There are thousands of Muslims in Dearborn; why did only 100 show up for this? This is not the first time that attendance at a Muslim rally against terrorism has been decidedly underwhelming. Earlier this month, only 30 Muslims protested against the jihad massacres in Paris. In July 2015, a Muslim rally in Ireland against the Islamic State drew fifty people. In October 2014 in Houston, a rally against the Islamic State organized by the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) drew the grand total of ten people. In August 2013 in Boston, about 25 Muslims rallied against “misperceptions” that Islam was violent. About the same number showed up in June 2013 at a progressive Muslim rally in Toronto to claim that their religion had been “hijacked.”

And back in 2005, a group called the Free Muslims Coalition held what it dubbed a “Free Muslims March Against Terror,” intending to “send a message to the terrorists and extremists that their days are numbered … and to send a message to the people of the Middle East, the Muslim world and all people who seek freedom, democracy and peaceful coexistence that we support them.” In the run-up to the event it got enthusiastic national and international publicity, but it ended up drawing about twenty-five people.

Contrast those paltry showings to the thousands of Muslims who have turned out for rallies against cartoons of Muhammad or against Israel. Here are some headlines from the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo jihad massacre of Muhammad cartoonists in January 2015:

Maybe they are authentic moderates, or maybe they have a “dispensation” for taqiyya reasons, and the crowds didn’t get the memo.

The Left (and a lot of the GOP) know that the leading politicians already understand who is killing us and why; they just don’t want the people to find out.
The pause is a lose-lose for them: either they have to finally admit, clearly, to the public, that Muslims kill Westerners (and heretic Muslims outside their own particular sect) because they want to subjugate the world, which means the pause will become permanent by popular demand; or they have to drag things out by not admitting it and that will never get the pause lifted.

Zomcon JEM on December 9, 2015 at 5:27 PM

Well said.

AesopFan on December 9, 2015 at 7:13 PM

I’d say those actions had a disparate impact. They didn’t raid churches and synagogues, and Hindu temples, as well.

Axeman on December 9, 2015 at 7:20 PM

Muslims are different than any other group that ever immigrated to the US: 1) many support Sharia law, 2) subjugation of women, 3) reluctance to immigrate, 4) Islam over everything else, 5) radical mosques and imims, etc., etc., etc.

And it’s not a minority/color thing as Buddhists, Hindus, etc. don’t have similar problems.

bw222 on December 9, 2015 at 6:14 PM

I’m looking for a very long comment someone made yesterday or today listing all the immigrant groups who don’t have problems getting along, and showing that the only group that attacks everyone else is the Muslims.
Can’t find it now, of course.

I meant that there are millions who do want to kill us (true) and millions who do not (at the moment, anyway).
Sorry if that was not clear.

Trump is running rings around every one.

How many things has he preempted? The scream and then up doing what he says.

Close all the mosques and eject the fools that do not swear fealty to the country they live in.

Resistance should equal death, on the spot. Jihadis would have it no other way.

MrMoe on December 9, 2015 at 8:19 PM

Some states have banned sharia law. They did so against calls of muslim groups accusing racism, hostility to muslims etc.

The list of all 16 states are:

Alabama (two bills)
Arkansas
Florida (two bills)
Indiana (two bills)
Iowa
Kentucky
Mississippi (four bills)
Missouri (two bills)
North Carolina
Oklahoma (seven bills)
South Carolina (two bills)
Texas (six bills)
Virginia
Washington
West Virginia
Wyoming (two bills)

Has our President vented his outrage over this, yet? … I mean, violating a MOSQUE … for the love of Pete…

listens2glenn on December 9, 2015 at 8:35 PM

MrMoe on December 9, 2015 at 8:34 PM

There should be more states, along with the federal government, banning sharia law. CAIR and other muslim organizations often lobby heavily in order to use sharia law instead of American law.

Muslim cab drivers in Minneapolis and several airports have kicked out blind passengers with guide dogs (dogs are “unclean” in Islam). Somali Muslims on welfare have demanded that their free food comply with “Islamic requirements”. Muslim groups have demanded that their women be permitted to wear full face and body-coverings, even on drivers licenses.

And Muslim pressure groups like the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) have pushed to force Sharia Law on our courts and law enforcement — with some U.S. judges insanely agreeing to comply. A New Jersey judge recently cited Sharia Law in refusing to grant a Muslim woman a restraining order in a horrible case of sexual assault and abuse, because her husband said his abuse was acceptable “according to his Muslim beliefs.” In Texas, a group of unlicensed Muslim “judges” have set up an “Islamic Tribunal” which they say will “resolve disputes” in law, family and businesses using, of course, Sharia Law — not the U.S. Constitution.

Herman Mustafa Carroll, executive director of the Dallas CAIR branch was most revealing when he brazenly said: “If we are practicing Muslims, we are above the law of the land.”

I am finally proud of my 1/32nd French heritage

307wolverine on December 9, 2015 at 8:44 PM

It is revealing that the French are finding significant weapons caches in mosques which they are searching. That is a clear indication of muslim subversion of French authority.

There is also the question of the intended purpose of those weapons. In light of recent events, it is doubtful that the weapons were meant for defensive purposes.

There have long been credible reports of islamic groups congregating in rural areas in the US, undergoing weapons training, and establishing and living under sharia law.

It is confirmed that there are over 22 Jihadi Training Camps in the United States of America, but the FBI says there is nothing that can be done about them.

These training camps have been connected to Muslims of America (MOA) and belong to Jamaat ul-Fuqra, a Pakistan Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda-related branch. These camps are nothing new, as at least 19 of them were established as early as 2012.

FBI documents obtained by “The Clarion Project” in 2007 detailed the Texas enclave.

The organization says it has a network of 22 “villages” around the U.S., with Islamberg as its main headquarters in New York. TheClarion Project obtained secret MOA footage showing female members receiving paramilitary training at Islamberg. It was featured on the Kelly File on FOX News Channel in October. A second MOA tape released by Clarion shows its spokesman declaring the U.S. to be a Muslim-majority country.

A 2007 FBI record states that MOA members have been involved in at least 10 murders, one disappearance, three firebombings, one attempted firebombing, two explosive bombings and one attempted bombing. It states:

“The documented propensity for violence by this organization supports the belief the leadership of the MOA extols membership to pursue a policy of jihad or holy war against individuals or groups it considers enemies of Islam, which includes the U.S. Government. Members of the MOA are encouraged to travel to Pakistan to receive religious and military/terrorist training from Sheikh Gilani.”

The document also says that, “The MOA is now an autonomous organization which possesses an infrastructure capable of planning and mounting terrorist campaigns overseas and within the U.S.” ~Clarion Project

You know, if it weren’t obvious that Dear Mohammed’s plans for me include a clean separation at the neck, I’d be inclined to call the progressives bluff and welcome in enough Muslims to do away with the 19th Amendment.

Also, while I’m thinking about it, I’d appreciate it if the French police would beat the crap out of the Muslims who tried to grab a$$ my daughters at Sacre Coeur. My response was to tell them to get their effing hands to themselves. Their response was to mutter dark oaths about Americans. My thought was to go Chuck Norris, but I’d be content if the French police would just terminate them.

This is the type of thing that I have expected is happening during our transformation. I was really hoping that someone would stand up.
I mean elected representatives. its getting to the point where we need a leader like Trump.(or anyone else with the same common sense) and all we hear is biased opposition and we should pay attention to whom is opposing his stand.. they definitely are completely brainwashed or are simply against the principals that this country was founded on.
contrary to them we were founded as a christian nation, and that is what has made America great. We disregard this at our own peril.

Have a good night. nice to talk to you

I am so sick of these turd muzzies worldwide. They demand and demand for more and more crap while every westerner yields so they won’t be call islamophobic. Well I am proud to be islamophobic. I think the devil blinds people and this is why so many westerners accept islam crap. I can remember the days when all we talked about on the news was Vietnam and Watergate and the Communism threat. Those days seem so tranquil now. These muzzies will be pushing more and more as they conquer more and more western lands. I feel sorry for young people growing up now and not knowing what a bleak future is coming.

BREAKING NEWS:

Ex-Guantanamo detainee RELEASED BY BARACK OBAMA is now AN AL QAEDA LEADER IN YEMEN.

A new AQAP video features Ibrahim al Qosi, who was detained at Guantanamo from 2002 until 2012. Qosi is now an AQAP leader and spokesman.

Heckava job, Barry!

If Americans were more informed of muslim immigrant crimes against native Europeans, and the epidemic of rape against European women, there would be no outcry regarding Trumps statement of halting muslim immigration.

Europeans are enduring a horrific wave of crime, and the collapse of their traditional society and culture. Americans must not allow such events to happen here.

bobthm3 on December 9, 2015 at 9:07 PM

There is a miasma going around that, when it touches them, turns Muslims into innocent, peaceful, quiet and even useful citizens. It’s called death.

Obama took Winston Churchills bust from the Oval Office becsuae of what he said about Muslims, here is that quote from the “River Wars”.

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the faith: all know how to die but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.”
― Winston S. Churchill, The River War

Exit question: how will all of Europe’s leaders who screamed about Donald Trump suggesting a temporary ban on Muslim immigration react to this news?

They probably will enact one of his ideas to crack down on radical mosques and find a treasure trove of weapons and munitions

What about building permits and fire codes for these places? Cant you close those down for not obey those codes!

mixplix on December 10, 2015 at 11:41 AM

Trump is right and forthright and better now than later as the French are moving now but a little late to the party. We must NOT be late to the party and remove all muslims in this country whether legal or illegal, along with all illegals/invaders because this is our country. The Constitution does not allow the garbage the liberal idiots are spouting, and if the GOP is not happy with Trump and us, then you need to be disbanded for treason as well. If Trump goes independent, you can be sure that a majority of us will be right there with him. The current GOP is irrelevant and scared of whatever supposed power they think they have. They have broken the pledge with Trump and that is hurting them, but not us. We want America back with a president who can cleanse you, the DNC, the Supreme Court, and this administration so American can live, breathe, and be free again! Nothing wrong with that, you stupids, but then again, you are stupid and can’t understand logic or reasoning. Go away!

Roselle on December 10, 2015 at 11:52 AM

Isn’t this the kind of anti-Muslim hate crime the left has been looking for since 9/11? And it happens in France, not the US. Hmmm… Cognitive disconnect for liberals in 5…4…3…
