Dozens of spies insist their reports on JV team were altered to please president

posted at 8:01 am on September 10, 2015 by Jazz Shaw

This will no doubt come as shocking news… to Barack Obama and his press secretary.

A new report claims that scores of intelligence analysts (read: spies) have begun talking out of school and are complaining that their reports on major terror groups have been “inappropriately altered” to paint a brighter picture before being passed on to the President and other leaders. Who could have possibly suspected that this was going on? (Well, aside from everyone else, I suppose.) Either way, the details are troubling. (Fox News)

The Daily Beast reported late Wednesday that more than 50 analysts had supported a complaint to the Pentagon that the reports had been changed to make the terror groups seem weaker than the analysts believe they really are. Fox News confirmed last month that the Defense Department’s inspector general was investigating the initial complaint, which the New York Times reported was made by a civilian employee of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).

The assessments in question are prepared for several U.S. policymakers, including President Obama.

The Daily Beast report, which cited 11 individuals, claimed that the complaint being investigated by the Defense Department was made in July. However, several analysts reportedly complained as early as this past October that their reports were being altered to suit a political narrative that ISIS was being weakened by U.S.-led airstrikes in Syria.

The intelligence reports, according to the analysts, were either being ignored, sent back for revisions if they were insufficiently positive in tone, or altered. Among the alterations, they claim, were the removal of entire sections which fundamentally changed the conclusions being drawn. All in all, the general tone along the chain of command was one of discouraging any Debby Downers who claimed that ISIS was stronger or more effective in their efforts than we were hearing on the news and plumping up the effectiveness of US led airstrikes in the region.

Plenty of independent journalists on the international beat have been, shall we say, a bit skeptical about the sunny reports we were hearing in the fall and winter of 2014. Our airstrikes were definitely doing some damage and occasionally taking out some leaders, but without hard intel data it was tough to document. Still, how many hints did we really need? As a reminder, just take a look at this map from the end of last summer. (Daily Mail)

ISIS

Does it really look like we were kicking their butts in any significant fashion? ISIS had a lot more than You Tube videos going for them.

Moe Lane offers a bit of perspective on how we allowed the intel to get cooked this thoroughly.

What’s happening now is that the military cadre that interacts with the Executive Branch is too ready to tell the Executive Branch what it wants to hear, and the Executive Branch is collectively too arrogant – or just too stupid – to realize that this is happening.

The cure? Go out and vote next year. And for the love of God, don’t vote in a way that elects another Democrat. There’s wet rot in that party’s support beams at this point.

If we were anywhere near having ISIS under control the world wouldn’t be dealing with the worst refugee crisis since World War 2 right now. That’s not to say the fight is over, but perhaps the Leader of the Free World should be getting some slightly less filtered information. Of course, that’s assuming that he really wants to hear it.

I don’t like calling him the 12th Imam because it alters what the Islamic cult believes, and what they believe is very important when it comes to our own survival. Unlike Christian end of days theories the apocalypse is man-made in Islam. Which makes all Muslims extremely dangerous fanatics. I’ll take Christians sitting around waiting for God’s wrath any day of the week over Muslims running around trying to make a nuclear holocaust in order to pave the way for their “savior”.

The influence of long dead Uncle Frank on Barry Obama is incredibly strong to this day.

ISIS/ISIL/Daesh cannot be the culprit, really, as they are merely another in a string of anticolonialist freedom fighters trying to wrest freedom from the overpowering heavy hand of the imperialist West…which would not be so powerful were it not for the United States and their gunboat diplomacy and control of international banking and their infestating nations all over the globe with their CIA spies and wreckers. Sure, there have been a few excesses, maybe one or two atrocities, but in the large scheme, how does this compare to the millions slaughtered when the US bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki for no reason whatsoever. Or the Cathlic Church murdered hundreds of millions across the Americas in the name of Christ but truly in order to steal the gold and wealth from established noble kingdoms of free Amerindians.

Islam is being perverted because the Christian Right has been persecuting poor followers of mohammed for centuries, ever since the Popes sent vast armies into the lands of mohammed to slaughter innocents as they gathered/stole gold and wealth for the papacy..and the Jewish bankers of Europe. If the Christians would accept the co-equality of Mohammed and Jesus, then there’d be no problems at all.

Accept the nobility of Obama as he fundamentally changes the way we are governed and leads the globe into an era of lasting peace, with no nation being better than any other, and the last vestiges of colonialism are ground into dust.

So, padding the intel? No big deal in the major scope of things.

The narrative! The narrative is what is truly important.

If you are not a strong supporter of the Obama legacy of peacemaker, turning back the tides…well, then you are a traitor.

This goes to show that the US intelligence community is still full of careerists more interested in telling the politicals what they want to hear, rather than what might be true.

I remember the WMD fiasco in Iraq. I remember the NIE which stated Korea was 15 years away from ballistic missile capability — when they launched one the same year. That was during the Clinton years.

Across three administrations the same song has come up — honest analysis is suppressed in favor of whatever opinion the policymakers, of either party, want.

So what are we paying them for? If all we’re going to get is our own political propaganda reflected back at us, we might as well have a web site and a printing shop.

This also requires propagandistic “reeducation” of the masses. If this protective process involves bending, twisting, ignoring or even the overt breaking of laws or even the Constitution, so be it. Two points:

1. This is what you get when you replace all the military leadership with emasculated sycophants, as Obama has systematically been doing.

2. The “refugee crisis” is not made of any significant percentage of real refugees. Look at the makeup of the so-called refugees – the vast majority of them are young males in prime health. Why do you think none of the Gulf States are taking in these “refugees?” They are rightly claiming that there are a lot of terrorists mixed in with the “refugees.” It is not going to be pretty in Europe as more and more of these people flood in.

Well, f*ck. We can’t blame him for deciding things based on altered intel, but we can blame him for fostering the kind of environment that would alter critical intel just to make Big Baby Barry happy.

If we were anywhere near having ISIS under control the world wouldn’t be dealing with the worst refugee crisis since World War 2 right now.

It is not a refugee crisis. It is an intentional Muslim invasion.

Switch browsers, try installing AdBlock Plus.

Hill60 on September 10, 2015 at 10:52 AM

Or, and follow along with me because I know it’s totally cray-cray, inform the site that they’re risking losing their all-important traffic because of the way the ads here are allowed to hijack your position on the page and not allow you to scroll past them. Tell them that both video and audio-only ads auto-play on a repeating loop with no way to stop them. And finally, remind them that no serious web designer should allow their content to be overshadowed by ads.

AdBlock doesn’t even work with the Edge browser that many people who don’t realize that Internet Explorer 11 shipped with Windows 10 are using, but that shouldn’t even be the point. Sticking your digital head in the sand isn’t the solution. (Odd coincidence that this off-topic rant is in this particular post.) You should want your favorite websites to receive ad money and not cheat them out of it by blocking the ads from loading. The solution is one of the following: the feedback causes the ad company to chill the f*ck out with the crap they’re pulling or Salem fires them for screwing over their content and hires a more reasonable ad company.

Détente…it’s not just for politicians.

But we’re leaving behind a sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq, with a representative government that was elected by its people.

This reminds me of the inflated body counts of North Vietnamese killed during our nightly news back in the 60s.

Of course, that’s assuming that he really wants to hear it.

Reality is what King Barack and President Jarrett say it is.

What’s happening now is that the military cadre that interacts with the Executive Branch is too ready to tell the Executive Branch what it wants to hear, and the Executive Branch is collectively too arrogant – or just too stupid – to realize that this is happening.

First thing I thought of was “just like Vietnam”; am I the only old fogy on tonight?
