Bobby Jindal to counter pro-choice protest at governor’s mansion — by screening videos from Planned Parenthood sting outside

posted at 4:41 pm on August 20, 2015 by Allahpundit

A bit of political counterprogramming so masterful I dare call it “Breitbartesque.”

I just hope he doesn’t expect these people to be shamed by the idea of cutting into a baby’s face to remove its brain while its heart is still beating. Anyone who cared about that wouldn’t be out to protest to begin with.

The videos, some of which include graphic footage of abortion workers sorting through the dismembered arms, legs and other body parts of aborted babies as old as 20-weeks gestation, will show on an outdoor movie theater outside the Louisiana governor’s mansion.

The pro-Planned Parenthood protest is set to take place at 4:30 CT. The screening of the videos will happen at the same time.

Jindal, who was one of the first governors to pull funding of the abortion giant, said in a statement earlier today that, “Planned Parenthood has a right to protest…but Governor Jindal’s office will ensure that anyone who shows up will have to witness first-hand the offensive actions of the organization they are supporting.”

Here he is this morning on Fox, relentlessly on message by turning a question about whether “anchor babies” is an offensive term for children of illegal immigrants into an indictment of the left for refusing to use the term “baby” to describe Planned Parenthood’s “specimens.” He’s done everything he could lately to try to grab the attention of social conservative voters in Iowa and South Carolina — resisting implementation of the Supreme Court’s gay-marriage decision (for a little while), cutting off Medicaid funds for Planned Parenthood in Louisiana after the sting videos came out, and now actually broadcasting the videos outside the mansion to force abortion warriors to confront the type of inhumanity they’re defending. Result: Zippo. Apart from one promising poll of Iowa by Gravis last month showing him bouncing up to seven percent, he’s stuck at around one or two points. What’s it going to take?

I don’t know, considering how vigorously Planned Murder fights the idea of required ultrasounds before the murder itself takes place I believe there could be a fair number of folks who are pro-murder but have no real knowledge of the “how” involved.

Imagine a young female who’s been steeped in “IT’S MY BODY!” liberal soup for years but you’ve never been willing to go beyond attending a protest or two like this. Then boom, right in front of her there’s a vid on a big screen where a baby’s face is being sliced apart and its brain pulled out through the gash; possible that she might never look at a living baby the same way again?

Bishop on August 20, 2015 at 4:48 PM

If nothing else, an encouraging result from the past few months is that pro-life politicians are starting to put the other side on the defensive, rather than running away from their own positions and trying desperately to change the topic to taxes…

Really want to up the ante: Walk out in front of the protesters holding a smiling, squirming baby and a butcher knife, then ask for volunteers to stab this pile of goop because its organs are needed for research.

Point out people in the crowd, choose the youngest looking, look them in the eye and walk toward them holding out the knife for them to take, call their bluff.

I like Jindal. We have some great candidates running, I wish more people would take time to look at the entire field before putting all their hopes on one candidate or another.

crco on August 20, 2015 at 5:01 PM

Jindal actually has a successful pro-life record in Louisiana by signing multiple bills in Louisiana restricting abortion on demand. He is also denied permits for PP to operate new clinics because they were unable to “demonstrate the need” for the clinic in the first place.

If this gesture came from a less accomplished politician when it comes to pro-life issues I would call it theater. This is not only theater from Jindal, he has a record of success as a pro-lifer to back it up.

Good work.

Outstanding, well done Governor.
If that isn’t a cred builder I don’t know what is.
I wish I could be a fly on that wall.

I wonder if the protest will actually take place now? You know that the PP crowd does not want to call attention to those vids.

I hope it goes down, and I hope this is a big enough deal to actually get the MSM to cover those vids, at least enough to get average Joe curious enough to surf the net for them.

JusDreamin on August 20, 2015 at 5:08 PM

I’m convinced and suspect what really goes on is much worse. I mean it is not like the Justice Department monitors procedures in abortion clinics. I would put nothing past these mass murderers.

But it is not me that needs convincing. We nee the pubic at large to see what is going on. So far we have statements from previous workers and recorded conversations that imply this is happening. But is that enough. So far from the other side we hear the claim that all of this is trumped up and not happening.

Bishop on August 20, 2015 at 4:48 PM

Recent polls cited here at HA show the misinformation in action.
Abortion supporters (outside the top pushers) really don’t have a clue, which is why the abortion pushers fight so hard to prevent ultrasound, informed consent (really informed, not their talking points informed), and even discussion using the words baby or living etc.

The descent of abortion from the (Misguided but seemingly rational) safe, rare, and legal was inevitable; anything that can be commodified and profitably engaged in, will be..you would think all those anti-business SJWs and OWSs could make the connecton, but they don’t think.

PS I think Jindal would fight back like this even if not running for President. IF somebody could actually make the deal “you end your campaign and I’ll close PP (end illegal immigration, stop the Iran deal, end Obamacare)” — how many candidates would do it?

One caveat Gov Jindal: Please be very VERY careful on either using any State funds or resources OR accepting or using any donated of same when doing this.

The radicals in Murder Inc, and their supporters in the crowd and in the State Assembly/Senate will use *any* opportunity to crucify you or worse over this brilliant tactic.

IF you can use State funds/resources to do so, document and itemize every expenditure, no matter how small: from the electricity used for the projector to the time-sheets of the workers involved.

The reason I’m not pro-life is because they’ve shown they lack the requisite backbone for the cause, like most non-abolitionists lacked in opposing slavery. There are no truly “pro-choice” people among PP’s who res, only pro-aborts, since adoption or abstinence is never tolerated, only folk in the pro-life camp even recognize the mother’s true freedom to choose apart from vile, bigoted, profiteering PP coercion no civilized country under the rule of law by sane adults would allow, the reason why it’s OK here where the inmates run the asylum.

russedav on August 20, 2015 at 8:49 PM

PS. By all measurable yardsticks I’m more pro-life than any; I’m just awake enough to realize this is a war like the one against slavery that deserves to be treated as seriously whereas most seem immune to the agony a civilized soul should suffer when hearing the cry of the unborn in a land of vile uncivilized savages, most of whom should be executed as evil, pro-abort accomplices. God save us.

listens2glenn here is the information you requested

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/planned-parenthood-nra-candidates-popularity_55c11677e4b0a50ad0aac379

planned parenthood has better approval rating than the NRA!

it does matter why the peeps are protesting in the first place and it was cause piyush blocked medicaid funding to the two louisana planned parenthood clinics that dont even offer abortion services. he is a tiny tempest in the tiniest of tiny teapots.

brushingmyhair on August 20, 2015 at 10:26 PM

also dont forget planned parenthood is still more popular than piyush jindal or any of the republican presidential nominees.

Governor, you’re my hero.

Rosmerta on August 20, 2015 at 10:34 PM

Bravo, Jindal!

It is a shame he is running in such a big field, because he is probably the sharpest guy in the race in terms of practical knowledge. Able to decipher budgets like Kasich or Ryan, but also at least as well-informed on health policy as any Obaman hired Ph.D.

In their faces, over and over, as long as they care to stay. Love it!

Adjoran on August 20, 2015 at 11:31 PM

yah real shame… not. this guy is such a doofus. why do you guys think he is so smart? he is a bad governor and that volcano thing was so obviously god personally smiting him for being such a twerpdip.
he is like that kind of idiot like that kansas dude, whats his name? sam brown? ya sam brown, like him. stupid butts.

Dakotan, you’re kidding, right? Bobby Jindal, budgetary genius, has driven Louisiana right into the ground, with a 1.6 BILLION dollar deficit. His approval ratings in the state are dismal. If that is what he’s planning for the country, I’ll pass.

*Adjoran* @&$%#¥ auto correct!

Once in office, Jindal would be a better president than anyone else in the GOP field.

The problem is . . . getting him into office.

Younggod on August 21, 2015 at 3:10 AM

Political stunt, nothing more.
Piyush can’t run on his governor’s record, and polls at less than 1%.
He must do something/anything to get fox to notice him and offer him a job.
After all, he’s gonna need one.
