Hillary spokesman: She was a “passive recipient of unwitting information that subsequently became classified”

posted at 5:21 pm on August 19, 2015 by Allahpundit

I’m going to try to translate this from Clintonese: Not only did her private server hold classified material, she personally received classified material in her e-mail account on that server. And if that’s true, if that’s what this is supposed to mean, then it makes her mishandling of classified info even more egregious. It wasn’t just a matter of Huma Abedin or whoever sending classified material through the server unbeknownst to poor, dumb, innocent Hillary. Hillary actually saw some of the material herself. But wouldn’t you know it, being dumb and innocent, she couldn’t recognize it for what it was.

She didn’t know it was classified because it wasn’t marked ‘n stuff — which is irrelevant for legal purposes, and which sidesteps the fact that it may well be that her own aides removed the markings so that she could play dumb and innocent in the first place. But this shtick, that she simply didn’t know the material was classified, will help her among voters who want to see this fiasco more as a matter of negligence and incompetence than willful mishandling of state secrets. That’s what the instantly famous line at her presser yesterday about wiping her server “with a cloth” was all about too. The dumber grandma seems about tech stuff, the easier it is to chalk all of this up to ignorance rather than deliberate malfeasance.

Further to that point, here’s another spokesman, Jennifer Palmieri, shrugging off Hillary’s fateful decision to set up a private e-mail server in the first place as one she “didn’t really think … through.” You buy that, don’t you? An incoming Secretary of State, knowing that she’d routinely be accessing the most sensitive state secrets, was never warned by any trusted allies in the legal or tech fields that a private server would be much less secure than the government’s system and that transmitting classified material on it would be a serious criminal matter. Deciding to go off the federal communications grid as a cabinet member is something that anyone could have done absentmindedly, with no eye to the consequences for national security. That’s what The Smartest Woman In The World’s reduced to arguing.

Exit question from the tweet above: What exactly is “unwitting information”?

Let’s just put aside our knowledge that HRC is a lying, manipulative partisan hack, and think of her as an incompetent SoS that is over her head and unqualified for the job, which is what her handlers are going for now.

And then why would we want her as President?

When aides informed [former Secretary of State Hillary] Clinton that she could no longer tend to the rabbits at Foggy Bottom, she was alleged to have repeatedly remarked, “but George–I didn’t mean no harm George. Can I still tend the rabbits, George?”

Colvinus on August 19, 2015 at 10:36 PM

Unclassified information does NOT become classified later. Classified information is almost always born classified because it is information about a classified topic.

This WILL come out. Hillary’s claim that the messages weren’t classified when she got them is just a stalling tactic. We’ll all know the truth eventually.

Pythagoras on August 19, 2015 at 10:43 PM

Meh. I think Bill, BHO and Mooch have had their collective revenge on Hillary, along with all of the former secret service members that were tasked to protect her.

Next up? Bill Divorces Hillary … She’s so toasted (not the way she likes to be toasted) but yeah, she’s done.

Oh, and “Bless your heart, Hillary… Bless your heart”

What Hillary really believes: She was a passive victim of subordinates who unwittingly did not delete and wipe all the incriminating–including classified–documents as they were tasked, because her team previously had tampered/deleted the Security Status markings for yet more convenience, and thus subsequently missed them in their big purge.

If Russia or China has all her emails and other documentation they can easily blackmail Clinton if she becomes president.

darwin on August 19, 2015 at 5:42 PM

I doubt that they would have to go through the effort of blackmailing her.
She’ll give them whatever they need, before they even ask.

Yeah, well, none of this would be an issue if Hillary hadn’t defied regulations by running her own server.

For some reason, visions of Hillary on her knees before Putin and the Ayatollah du joir come to mind.

What a day we live in.

The leading Republican is a longtime pal & political ally of the leading Democrat.

And the leading Democrat could be done in by the FBI of the current Democrat administration.

Politics, bedfellows, etc.

Yeah. And if E! News finds me out, I’m saying it was unwitting participation in an uninvited interaction with Kate Upton that subsequently became classified as hot sex.

I mentioned that yesterday and provided some links. She had a smartphone, a blackberry and an iPad (and who knows what else)

Acting as Secretary of State she received classified data frequently, every single day. She read email on those devices.

Where are they? What’s on them? Who has physical access to them?

Also, we are supposed to believe our nations top secret data is safe with a woman with deep ties to a terrorist organization?

Seriously? The rest of the world is certainly laughing at us at a minimum. But then, they all have Hillary’s email so at this point….

Does he know what he’s talking about? Is he an IT expert? Does the server have an eight bay drive raid array?

LOL!! Did no one ever make backups? I mean aside from anyone with a thumb drive needing to use the toilet….

The Hillary balloon has popped:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2015/08/19/some-hillary-clinton-supporters-in-south-carolina-are-starting-to-get-nervous/

FTA:

“They don’t have energy here whatsoever,” said the supporter, who requested anonymity to candidly discuss Clinton’s campaign effort in the state. “It’s just so controlled. There’s nothing fluid about this campaign at all.”

and also FTA:

Doris Wells, a retiree who attended the event, said she shakes her head at how Clinton handles things at times. “You can’t control everything all the time and that’s her problem,” Wells said. “She’s a control freak, and she knows better. It’s going to hurt her somewhat.”

I’m going to try to translate this from Clintonese…

Don’t bother. With any Clinton, all you need to know is that there’s always an explanation and that the explanation fully exonerates said Clinton.

Consider:

* Super-secret U.S. national-security documents revealed stuffed inside Hillary’s bra as she’s passing through the x-ray machine on her way inside the Russian embassy? Easily explained, easily exonerated.

* Guy found dead with a knife sticking out his back and the knife has Hillary’s fingerprints on it? Easily explained, easily exonerated.

* Ed Henry found dead with knife sticking out his back, Hillary’s fingerprints on it, and investigators discover he’s clutching a cell phone containing video of Hillary coming at him with that very knife? Easily explained, easily exonerated.

* Ed Henry dies with knife in back, etc, etc, etc, only this time the slaying occurs at a nationally televised Hillary press conference, millions witness Hillary stick the knife in, pull it back out, lick the blood off the blade, make a “mmmmm, delicious” gesture, smirk into the cameras, and suddenly transform into a monstrous space alien? Easily explained, easily exonerated.

F**k you, Clinton spokespeople. You are some of the sickest bast*rds on the planet.

No, we won’t. Not all of us. In fact, not many of us.

The fix is in, the final report is already written, and she didn’t do it (if they even decide to “investigate”, which they’ve already been told not to).

And since the press refuses to cover it as anything other than “poor hillary is yet again being victimized by those evil demonic republicans (which is odd, considering that the DoJ is controlled by the biggest leftists ever in charge of it), this will also go nowhere with the public.

She’s our next president. Best to just plan for it and be ready.

Only if Jeb gets the nomination. She will not be able to compete with any other of the 5-10 viable Republican candidates. She is too short, too homely, too shrill, too damaged and completely and utterly without charisma.

Barack Obama has already proven that.

Hillary spokesman: She was a “passive recipient of unwitting information that subsequently became classified”

I hope this lede was not rewritten by Hot Air. But, “UNWITTING” information??? Information with no intelligence or brains? Sounds like the Hillarity organization to write or say that. I think what they really meant that Hilarity unwittingly received the information. Or, the possibility that is left is Hillarity’s minion just testified that she has no wit.

FYI, information does not subsequently classified.

Can you at least admit that she’s in worse shape than she was at this point in 2008?

I WANT her to win the nomination.

She’s an absolutely awful campaigner. If she’s actually the nominee, I may try to organize a leverage buyout of Orville Reddenbacher.

No, in 2008 I didn’t think she was inevitable. I figured the dems would think they had a deeper bench at the time, and I was right (about them thinking it, not that the bench was actually deeper. Turns out it was even more shallow than I thought).

But this time, they simply don’t have anyone else. And like 2008, the press will do and say and destroy anything they have to so they can drag her carcass across the finish line.

And it’ll work. Again.

I’m trying to remember the last time one of your political arguments began and ended with “I do not intend to vote for this person because I do not support their policies”. You’re much more content to make wrong statements about federal revenues, Planned Parenthood, etc; spend ten times the effort avoiding questions that it would take just to answer them; and talking way more about the character of people you “interact” with than anything to do with their political philosophy.

But yeah, let’s take an imaginary high road and say people should just vote up or down based on policy positions, with no regard whatsoever for whether the people you insist on giving so much power over our lives have even a nominal amount of competence at their job.
