Video: If men were treated like women in the workplace, featuring Carly Fiorina

posted at 4:01 pm on July 16, 2015 by Allahpundit

Reminds me of those ESPN ads where a star athlete wanders the halls of network HQ in Bristol, although this is more than just a promo. It’s a smart play by BuzzFeed, which has enough reach with young adults that it could probably get any candidate it wants (Hillary included, eventually) to do a cutesy made-for-viral video like this — especially Republicans like Fiorina who are on the polling bubble for the first GOP debate on August 6th and will happily take some free online media exposure right now.

The clip’s unlikely to move her numbers, but who knows? The difference between making the debate and missing it could be a tenth of a percent. If the video gets passed around enough on Facebook and Twitter — and there’s no site more likely to ensure that than BuzzFeed — and then re-aired on Fox News, it might get undecided GOPers to pay closer attention to Fiorina during the last few weeks before the debate. At a minimum, it’ll earn her some praise as a candidate who’s media-savvy and has a sense of humor; put that together with the point of the clip, that women are treated differently than men, and that’s a bunch of extra pressure on Fox and the RNC to make sure she’s included in the debate.

I’m curious now to see what a jokey yet pointed BuzzFeed take flattering one of Rick Santorum’s core concerns would be. “Thirty-seven reasons why you shouldn’t let Planned Parenthood tear your baby’s head off and sell it to a lab”?

You can’t name another candidate with a better program for handling illegal immigrants…can you? Of course you can’t.

A better program? It’s called GO HOME. No amnesty.

Why are you pretending to be such a staunch opponent of amnesty? You like Carly because she, like you, wants illegal alien amnesty and has a long history of advocating for it. You know it and other readers here know it.

Conservatives should embrace what illegals bring, lower more responsible wages.

Do the math on deporting 15 million “illegals”, and see if you want to foot the bill.
Or would you be willing to say that someone who has been here, for 15 years, never missed a day at work, paid taxes, bought a house, raised their children, is not a good candidate to be a citizen?

[Illegal aliens] have a work culture, the ones who have fought to get up here that is stronger than most…
That is apparently foreign to you…
right2bright on June 17, 2013 at 10:15 AM

illegal immigrants who fight their way to our shores have a work ethnic.
And you are obviously a racist…
I don’t know what your heritage is, my great grandfather was a hero… he crossed the Canadian border illegally … as an “illegal immigrant”…

So yeah, I do have a special place in my heart for people who fight to get here, rather than sit on their @ss … and [whine about] “laws” and people who have risked their lives to be in America.

I gave her nine bucks last week. I shouldn’t have. This video flipped me to Walker.

She’s the only woman in the GOP field. How can Fox exclude her from the debate and not make the GOP appear that they don’t like women. This is like Killary not being accepted by NASA.

I’m surprised to see this coming from BuzzFeed. But I think it’s excellent for the GOP candidates to show that they aren’t actually vicious, racist, homophobic, sexist, and all the other ‘ists’ that the libs like to label them with.

I expect NASA told her not to apply. It’s hard being a girl (CEO).

They should only take the top five in the debate. This woman has shown in this video that she isn’t really a serious candidate. Her one percent in the polls shows she isn’t relevant — if this is her attempt to move her numbers she really is desperate.
