Illegal deported five times who shot woman: I came back to San Francisco because it was a sanctuary city

posted at 1:21 pm on July 6, 2015 by Allahpundit

A horrifying lesson in incentives for which there’s plenty of blame to go around. Blame for San Francisco, of course, because it’s a sanctuary city where local PD won’t ask residents about their immigration status. Blame for ICE, who handed Sanchez over to San Francisco police to face a drug charge knowing full well the city wouldn’t hand him back later because of its “sanctuary” status. And blame, of course, for our fearless ruling class, whose fecklessness on border security presented ICE with a choice of either sending Sanchez to San Francisco and knowing he’d soon be back on America’s streets or returning him to Mexico … knowing he’d soon be back on America’s streets.

Nothing will change, no matter what Trump tells you. Just understand that if you’re moving to a major American city whose government is dominated by big blue, odds are it’s a sanctuary city too.

How much would mass deportations of illegal immigrants and workers cost?
libfreeordie on July 6, 2015 at 2:55 PM

No cost would be too high.

Mexico is transferring a significant portion of its low-skilled, poor, low-IQ, welfare-demanding population into our country. Illegal aliens drag us down, degrade us and make us more like the cesspool nations they fled.

I want them to get the hell out and stay there.

libfreeordie on July 6, 2015 at 2:55 PM

The leftist Atlantic estimates 400-600 billion over 20 years to deport all of the illegals.
That’s 20-30 billion a year for 20 years.

A study from FAIR estimates that illegals cost $113 billion a year in direct welfare expenditures by the states and feds. This doesn’t even account for the downward pressure placed on the cost of labor that comes with illegal employment that you eluded to by noting that it is more expensive to hire legal workers.

libfreeordie on July 6, 2015 at 2:55 PM

It’s pretty much the same as legalizing them all, since employers will then be on the hook for at least minimum wage, plus payroll taxes, social security, etc. My guess is that if illegals become legal, they’ll be laid off, and replaced with newly arrived illegals. Lather, rinse, repeat.

The Feds aren’t interested in border security, or enforcing laws against employing illegals, and as long as they aren’t, the situation will continue like it is now.

How much would mass deportations of illegal immigrants and workers cost?

libfreeordie on July 6, 2015 at 2:55 PM

I think the question you mean to ask is: how much cost is being incurred by the federal government by its refusal to enforce the laws in place?

Putting all of the burden on the people who have been saying all along that we have laws and those laws should be obeyed and enforced, is irrational beyond words. It’s the same as when in vitro was foisted upon American culture, and then the Catholics were told that stem cell research bans would waste all these perfectly good frozen embryos that would just spoil anyway. The Catholics didn’t create that problem, you did. Similarly, this is not the mess of those who supported enforcement of immigration laws. You made it, you clean it up.

Obviously, that’s not how it works.

I was thinking why Congress isn’t going after San Francisco. I’d like to think it’s because Republicans respect states’ rights and self-determination to some extent on the local level. Hey, Allahpundit, Hey, folks,

Do you think it would be possible that these American victim families can find a way to sue the U.S. Government, both federal and local, for large compensations via class lawsuit? Only then, justice will finally be served!!

The truth is: a considerable portion of illegal aliens here in the U.S. are murders, rapists, robbers, etc. Yet American victim families are unable to collect any compensation because illegals typically do not have any assets in the U.S.

I feel terribly sorry for those American victim families. But perhaps this is something we can do to help them, by helping to push the civil lawsuits.

Boy, I would sure think twice before going to SF for fun. Maybe the word needs to get out that SF is a sanctuary city, and supports having illegal immigrants (even if criminals)walk their streets.
If the shop owners, restauranteers, etc. are financially hurt because tourists realize that ANYTHING can happen on their visit to the City (and decide not to come), then perhaps some pressure will be put on the civic leaders to change from that status.

To disprove the hypothesis, the Mayor of EVERY Sanctuary City should be interviewed so they can explain how the benefits of being a Sanctuary City outweighs the costs of being a Sanctuary City for the Citizens and Legal Residents of their city.

The drunken driver responsible for a collision that killed Phoenix police Officer Shane Figueroa received a 16-year sentence Friday.

Salvador Vivas-Diaz, 50, sat emotionless as Figueroa’s father spoke. Vivas-Diaz, a mechanic, wore headphones to listen to a translation of the proceedings into Spanish.

Shane Figueroa, 25, was fatally injured near 19th Avenue and Roeser Road in south Phoenix when Vivas-Diaz crossed the center line of the road in his Isuzu pickup truck, smashing into the officer’s patrol car.

Vivas-Diaz, who lived with his daughter in a neighborhood near South Mountain Park, was arrested twice before in the Valley on DUI-related charges but never convicted. He was deported to Mexico, and officials said he returned to live illegally in the U.S.

When police arrested him, he presented fraudulent identifications and refused to admit his real name, according to investigators. He also stopped to urinate on the side of the road before officers arrived, never rushing to help Figueroa.

RIP Officer Figueroa.

And remember the 230,000 detainers are only for the ILLEGAL aliens who were CAUGHT and the Obama Administration was willing to detain.

In the past 21 months, immigration authorities have issued more than 230,000 detainers, according to ICE. Since January 2014, law enforcement agencies around the country have failed to honor about 17,000 detainers, 61 percent of them in California, ICE said.

http://www.sfgate.com/news/crime/article/San-Francisco-status-as-sanctuary-criticized-6368929.php

Which means there are 17,000 cases where ILLEGAL criminal aliens were back on the streets rather than in jail or deportation proceedings.

And 10,370 (61%) of those ILLEGAL aliens were set free in California.

What say you California Governor Jerry Brown?

Notice that the more this issue is brought to the forefront, the greater the number of liberal heads that explode. Trump obviously therefore hit a nerve.

Ted Cruz shouldn’t be the sole voice out in the wilderness expressing solidarity with Trump. Any candidate who doesn’t want to alienate the Conservative base should do likewise.

OneVision on July 6, 2015 at 8:58 PM

You will be forced to fight.

This evil in D.C. seeks power for powers sake only.

If you stand in the way of the two party evil money cult obtaining more power and or all power they will force you to fight for your very lives.

They now say they have the power to enforce a law or not enforce a law at their whim and or need for their on aims.

They lie, lies kill, the lies will kill you, only truth can set you free, seek truth and fight, or die without even a fight.

The non voters have sought shelter by hiding their souls and eyes from the crimes and they allow the lies to rule over U S.

Americans are failing to take care of ourselves.

Evil rises up with fire, with guns, with drugs, with evil laws of evil intent, with people like Obama who hate U S and wish only to destroy U S and sorry to say as of now only 1% serve in the armed forces and less than 10% are willing to fight this evil in Washington D.C. and places like San Francisco.

Judgement will come.

Just like the answer to “How do you eat an elephant?” is “one bite at a
time” the answer to “how do we deport them all” is “one parasite at a time”. The costs as denoted outweigh the value of the largely unskilled labor exponentially, much of which is substandard, the tax paid on cash purchases of gas smokes and cokes are a pittance compared to the taxes incurred and imposed on taxpayers and the final insult is multi billions sent out back to home countries for retirement villas allegres.

From a moral standpoint this is wholesale, shameless stealing from others without even a token IOU- breaking God’s commandment. When the Godless rule, our churches shield the immoral and crypto-liberals are allowed to assert freedom of religion = no religion that’s the result.

Now I’m still GOP so I can vote in primaries and have a say, however you guys in Boehner’s district have no excuse not to Cantor-ize him next year…

In Hoc Signo Vinces on July 6, 2015 at 9:40 PM

first off, how did a new reporter get the interview?

Second, another website, run by a fluent Spanish speaker translated what the interviewer was saying and said they were leading him to apologize to everyone. He doesn’t care. he’s a sh*tbag that just happens to be Mexican, and should have been in jail.

Not killing a decent American citizen. But that has happened far too many times in the past anyhow.

The politicians won’t do anything because THEY WILL NEVER be killed by the likes of this guy. They are above it.

Change that part of the equation and you’ll see a fence go up so fast it will make your head swim!

Plus as I said to my friends, if this guy killed my daughter, I would hold a press conference and openly state how I am sympathetic to any life time prisoner who has a kid outside that they wish could have a better life. How I wish I could help that prisoner’s family by helping their kid. Giving them free college and room and board by setting up a foundation.

Then I’d wait a week. Have another press conference and state openly how I wish God’s justice would reach into that prison and strike that murderer of my daughter.

Then sit back and wait.

archer52 on July 6, 2015 at 11:20 PM

Allah is peddling a murderer’s lie. The scum was sent to San Francisco because of an outstanding warrant. The idiot had no choice on the matter. This is clear from all the reporting.

lexhamfox on July 7, 2015 at 2:41 AM

The liberal mindset in action: American citizens killed by illegals? No problem! Illegals being deported for committing crimes? PROBLEM!

Ricard on July 7, 2015 at 8:34 AM

Schad is right.

Millions will self deport. They self imported so they can self deport.

The San Francisco Examiner reported that Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez is being represented by Deputy Public Defender Matt Gonzalez.

http://www.sfexaminer.com/sf-murder-suspects-immigration-status-at-center-of-bickering-between-local-federal-law-enforcement/

Matt Gonzalez is a well known San Francisco Politician. He ran for Mayor but lost to Gavin Newsom several years ago because Gonzalez was too liberal even for San Francisco. Gonzalez was President of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors for several years.

When Gonzales’ term on the Board of Supervisors ended in 2005, he was succeeded as the representative for SF District 5 by Ross Mirkarimi (a fellow member of the Green Party in San Francisco who had worked on Gonzalez’s campaign for Mayor.)

Coincidently, Ross Mirkarimi is now the Sheriff of San Francisco.

Yeah that Sheriff. The one whose Department released Lopez-Sanchez. And the Sheriff who must have approved allowing a news crew to interview a prisoner in his jail.

The corrupt networks that support ILLEGAL aliens in San Francisco run deep.

wren on July 7, 2015 at 4:15 PM

Every time I think people have to wake up they don’t. Look, I do not know anyone who is anti-immigrant. We get it. If we were born elsewhere we would want to come here as well. But the notion that a nation doesn’t get to decide who comes – and keep out the worst offenders or those who are not going to contribute to the overall prosperity of the nation is somehow racist. How does this fly?

And then you realize it. We see stories like this because we go to HA, we read Drudge or NR or even listen to Rush or watch Fox. But the other 85% of the country…never hears about it. Just as crazy hardware store owners get to be the face of the debate over SSM on one side and the drag queen saying he wants to destroy marriage as an institution so heterosexuals are like homosexuals never is, so too they can blow up a straw man for the secure borders side into the worst racist possible but on the other side its always the hard working single mother keeping her kids out of drugs and gangs as their poster child.

This scumbag (sorry, family site I know) is case #1 why the borders have to be secure. And sadly there are enough of them to say we have a problem. We cannot agree to anything in how to deal with the 11+million illegal aliens (a technical and legal term, not an offensive one unless the law is offensive) in our country and their permanent status until this scenario is guaranteed to stop.

I have been all over the world in various employment situations. Every other country protects its borders…even from me until I prove I am there for their best interests. Only in America is acting sanely now racists…and beyond the pale.

This family should be face-front in every debate between the Dem and Rep candidates in 2016. But I bet no one outside of places like this site will ever know their story and their pain.

That is how “caring” the Left is.

Doctor_ChristopherCOS on July 7, 2015 at 4:30 PM

I think I will start a petition to make my hometown a sanctuary city. We will no longer follow federal rules with which we disagree. We won’t have to pay federal income taxes or be forced to host gay marriages or anything we don’t want to do.
When the gummint tells us we must conform, we will inform the toothless tiger DOJ that we will do so as soon as the 200+ large sanctuary cities in the USA get rid of their own federal nosethumbing. We will then sue the gummint for not giving us the right to ignore them the way certain large cities ignore gummint laws they don’t like.
Twist the ignored laws back on the gummint and force them to admit they are not actually in control anymore.

DublOh7 on July 7, 2015 at 5:15 PM

LOL. This trope can be used to apply to anything under the sun and therefore is stupid.

MADD cheers drunk drivers because it advances their agenda.

Vegans love the slaughter of animals for food because it helps their cause.

Environmentalists cheer oil spills because it advances their cause.

Hilts cheers Kathryn Steinle’s death because it allows him to post his favorite stupid trope on Hot Air.

Dusty on July 6, 2015 at 2:22 PM

Jazz Shaw thinks that the Right to Life movement cheers Roe v Wade and all the abortions since then because the movement has picked up steam.

Someone please photoshop this guy’s face with Boehner’s face. They share a few features. I don’t believe Boehner had anything to do with the policies that allowed this man be return and remain but he sure hasn’t done anything to end them.

Honestly, I don’t understand why Republicans worry about a backlash from Hispanics. The Hispanics on the dole will continue to vote – legally and illegally, it seems – to stay on the dole. It’s as stupid as NASCAR believing the only thing keeping non-caucasians from watching their races is a Confederate flag.

Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez entered a “not guilty” plea in front of San Francisco Judge Daniel Flores today.

Here is some background info on Judge Flores:

Daniel was born and raised in San Francisco to immigrants from El Salvador.

While in law school, Daniel interned at La Raza Centro Legal in the Mission and was later a summer associate with Ropers, Majeski, Kohn, & Bentley.

http://danielfloresforjudge.com/about.php

Judge Flores is a brand new Judge – elected in 2014.

Sanctuary City is just a tern to disguise illegal behavior by city governments, like San Francisco. It should have been challenged by the federal government when it was first asserted. It was lawless then, and it lead to this mayhem.

Democrats need to be removed from all positions of responsibility, having proven themselves unwilling to manage even a basic level of security for citizens.

Every voter needs to think of their sons or daughters being slaughtered by these wild-dogs in their Sanctuary City in case they ever think of pulling the lever for another Democrat. The only lever to be pulled now is the one to execute Sanchez.

Time for a real investigation, yet?

It also has outraged San Franciscans such as Frank Zona, a longtime resident who rode his bicycle to the pier earlier this week “to contemplate” the killing.

“It makes me sick,” Zona said, as tourists walked onto the pier. “I’m a die-hard Democrat but this makes me want to vote for Donald Trump for (his stance on) immigration.”
