Whoopi Goldberg to Carly Fiorina: Are you running as someone who can govern for everyone or are you running as a Christian?

posted at 6:41 pm on June 17, 2015 by Allahpundit

Via the IJR, I don’t recall President Infanticide facing a question quite like this during his 2008 run. How can he claim to represent everyone when he takes a position on abortion that a supermajority of the public opposes?

I bet he’d be surprised to be told he isn’t governing as a Christian.

Incidentally, for a show that’s supposedly about amplifying women’s voices, it’s hard not to think Whoopi and “The View” reserved this question for Fiorina because she’s the only woman running on the GOP side. The entire field has the same position on life — it’s a litmus test for a Republican nominee — but Fiorina’s pro-life stance grates a bit more on lefty sensibilities because it’s a betrayal of what women are supposed to think, particularly highly educated, successful professional women. There was no way Fiorina was getting off that stage without being confronted on it. The double standard by which only pro-choice pols can “govern for everyone” is icing on the cake.

Note also the underlying assumption that a Christian couldn’t possibly govern for everyone fairly.

It’s been clear for a long, long time the the political Left sees Christianity and Christians as it’s primary political enemy. They are doing everything in their power to marginalize Christians and discredit the Christian faith.

Their defense of Islam and Muslims speaks volumes for their agenda and their hypocrisy.

In my old age I’ve come to try to avoid any kind of political discussions with Democrats and Leftists of all stripes. I have no patience with these fools any longer and just rip them up when they start in with their idiocy. I’d prefer to be civil, so I avoid the discussions entirely if I can. It’s about as productive as trying to teach swine to whistle, anyway.

f you doubt that Christians are fair game for ridicule by the cultural left, take a look at the hit piece on Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia by Jeffrey Tayler for Salon.

I can’t decide which is worse, the title or the subtitle. The title: “Antonin Scalia is unfit to serve: A justice who rejects science and the law for religion is of unsound mind.” The subtitle: “The justice claims to be an originalist, but his real loyalty is to religion and a phony man in the sky.”

Willful termination of human life at any stage of development is murder. That’s not simply “Christian”, it’s science. We all have the right to our own choices, but we do not have the right to terminate the lives of the innocent at will.

Whoopi wants to find conflict. Carly points out that science is proving a baby in the womb with respect to late term abortion is now a problem for pro abortionists.

But Whoopi does not like that answer. Perhaps Carly should be more blunt and say that the baby can feel the scissors stuck in the back of his or her neck to have its brain fluids drained before his or her dead body is dragged out of its mothers womb.
And it wouldn’t matter if the baby was white or black.

A woman whose reproductive organs are functioning properly, can’t escape from the reality that a sperm meeting her egg = creation of another real human life.

The only valid, legitimate reason for terminating the gestation of a human life in the womb, is if there’s a genuine risk to the mother’s life, in carrying the baby to full term.
Any woman who “chooses” to terminate her pregnancy for the purpose of avoiding the responsibility/burden of parenthood, is just as much of a murderer as she would be, if she had killed some other adult, simply because their existence was “inconvenient” to her.

Or “abortion” abortion…

Actually, these people don’t use that word…preferring the innocuous-sounding “woman’s right to choose what to do with her body”…conveniently omitting the other body involved as if it were a wart being removed.

Either way, nobody with a full set of marbles would ever believe Roe v. Wade will ever be overturned, no matter who the president is, or which party controls congress. Or even if every SCOTUS justice were pro-life.

Abortion on demand isn’t going anywhere. Sadly, and to our national shame IMO, it’s here to stay. The Left knows this too…they merely fear-monger to their base that if we allow Christians/pro-life candidates to win elections, they’ll overturn Roe and send women back to the alleys with coat hangers.

Don’t care. I am through shrugging my shoulders and/or caring when a doofus tone deaf culturally clueless GOP figure who by now should know better steps into a totally avoidable Lib-Media gotcha leg trap like this.

Carly Fiorina is an adult who presumably can take care of herself communicatively with quick-thinking pushback ready on the spot. I didnt watch the show so if Carly did so, then good for her and more of it please because she is a rarity in the GOP.

If she cant or didn’t or won’t do that, or she doesn’t understand a) that Whoopi hates Carly and wants her destroyed and b) how to knock obvious Ready4HillaryYouGuys gotcha question out of the park the minute one gets asked, Fiorina should be running for school board not President.

This goes for every GOP candidate: If you lack the communicative chops to body slam Whoopi Goldberg or any other lib idiot when these “only ever asked of Republicans” questions get asked, you need to get out of the race.

Wrong on so many levels.

Everyone has the right to choose whether to have sex without using contraception. Only the Left wants to take away the right to choose (life) of the unwanted baby.
If Conservatives didn’t respect the SCOTUS ruling they would have burned down abortion clinics decades ago.
Moderates want to give women control of the bodies they created by their selfish or ignorant sexual promiscuity*.

*Read the stats: very few abortions are done for the sympathy-begging reasons cited in Roe v. Wade of being the source of most unwanted pregnancies. That case was a fraud from beginning to end.
If you don’t want a baby, don’t have one.

The Left (not Moderates, the Left) has zero respect for anyone that isn’t in lockstep (goosestep) with whatever the current ideology (idiotology) du jour. However, if someone happens to disagree with whatever the Left has deemed to be progressive and inclusive, then God help that person because they will be ridiculed, dismissed and marginalized.

Instead, I suggest you return to the Leftist Utopia known as Chicago and gently stroll down the streets. Enjoy the thought of the excellent school system Chicago has to offer, marvel at the athletic youth running from the police or at you, take comfort in the knowledge that the city employees you see standing around doing nothing will be well cared for by the retirement that you and your children and your grandchildren will be paying for, and know that you are safe because, other than the criminals, no one is allowed to have guns.

Our Founding Fathers were Christian, Lincoln, the abolitionist, women the right to vote, integration, Reverend Martin Luther King…conservative Christians have led every movement for freedom for all Americans. And the right for a baby to grow up to become president, I support that.
