DHS: You right wingnuts are worse than ISIS

posted at 5:31 pm on February 21, 2015 by Jazz Shaw

The Department of Homeland Security has a lot on their hands lately. It seems as if some days they don’t know where to look first when dealing with a variety of threats. Whether it’s al Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram or sympathizers for any of a variety of terrorists groups, they are dealing with a dangerous world. But for some reason, CNN reports that the big threat this year is probably… sovereign citizens.

On second thought, maybe that whole defunding the DHS thing isn’t looking that bad.

A new intelligence assessment, circulated by the Department of Homeland Security this month and reviewed by CNN, focuses on the domestic terror threat from right-wing sovereign citizen extremists and comes as the Obama administration holds a White House conference to focus efforts to fight violent extremism.

Some federal and local law enforcement groups view the domestic terror threat from sovereign citizen groups as equal to — and in some cases greater than — the threat from foreign Islamic terror groups, such as ISIS, that garner more public attention.

The Homeland Security report, produced in coordination with the FBI, counts 24 violent sovereign citizen-related attacks across the U.S. since 2010.

24 attacks in the last five years is 24 too many, as I’m sure we can all agree. But we should also put things in perspective. Islamic terrorists can pull off that many in a week without breaking too much of a sweat. They make no secret of their intentions, but you always have to be on the lookout for who might be helping them on the home front.

But if it’s domestic threats that we’re worrying about, is this really the top trophy to go after? In 2012 (the last year of full records) there were 500 gang killings in Chicago alone. For those of you keeping score at home, unlike the 24 in the last five years racked up by the “sovereign citizens” brigade, that’s more than 28 every three weeks. In New York, youth gangs commit an estimated 40% of the shootings each year, and while the Big Apple has done an admirable job of bringing their murder rate down for several years now, that’s still a lot of lead flying through the air. I could go through the numbers for the other cities, but you get the point.

It goes beyond that, though. We have parades of people marching down the streets calling for the murder of cops. That’s not single point violence… it’s mayhem on a cultural scale which seeks to tear down the fabric of civilization. And if that’s not enough, if you take a tour of the more southwest regions, massively well funded, heavily armed and well organized drug cartels make regular forays into our nation dealing death and destruction on a daily basis. Math may not be my strong suit in terms of placing things in order of importance, but that seems fairly serious.

But… hey. 24 attacks in five years is pretty bad too, so you get right on that.

Has anyone correlated the list of supposed attacks with other events. Looking at the map CNN trumpeted, I couldn’t help noticing that one of their Sovereign Citizen red dots just happened to be exactly where Ft. Hood is located. I also seem to remember something about a Muslim Graduate Student in Central Florida attempting to blow something sky high where one of those Florida dots looks to be.

Some may call me cynical, and they’d be right to do so, but I’ve seen this movie before, where left wing attacks are blamed on the other side so to speak. Not that the Sovereign Citizens movement is necessarily right wing, so much as they are just plain anarchists.

The FBI and Homeland are a bunch of jack booted right winged thugs. Entrapping innocent civilians like the poor OWS kids in Cleveland. Furthermore, I argue that conservatives are not a threat because conservatives by nature are cowards. Conservatives need a strong man a leader, they are not individualist, never have been. They talk a big deal but they are reactionary little cowards afraid of their own shadows. They gravitate towards state sponsor terrorism like the police. They control means of society, they are the banksters the oil barons, the tree cutting developers. The conservative masses follow these men, never questioning. Sadly, the concern about the Left of this country persecuting, imprisoning or attempting to exterminate conservatives is not a joke or some paranoid fantasy. History proves otherwise. It is precisely how the Left operates. Need I mention the Soviet Union, China, Nazi Germany (yes, they were more akin to modern leftists than those on the right), North Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Cuba and others? That isn’t exactly ancient history. And the idea that it can’t possibly happen here is absurd.
Recent events are beyond worrisome. Some day, historians may well ask the same questions that we ask about those destroyed by the above regimes – Did they not see this coming? Why didn’t they take action before it was too late?
The day can’t come soon enough when this despicable regime is out of office. In the meantime, stay or become politically active, vote Democrats out of office, pray, and do not give up your guns.
These are dark days.

One of the domestic terrorist attacks mentioned (well not really mentioned. They gave it a dot on the terror map.) was in Santa Clara California. They call it the Metcalf Incident.

Parties unknown attacked an electrical substation by first cutting the wires to the security system, then popping as many of the glass insulators as they could from distance with a rifle before the cops showed up. This ruined about $15 million worth of equipment.

The thing is that was done by parties unknown, not by parties identified as right wing , left wing or any sort of wing.

Given the location, the specific targeting, and the limited damage, it’s far more likely the work of an IBEW outfit, looking to create some fat Union wage government contracts during a dry spell in the California construction trades. Reliable Obama, Pelosi, Boxer, Brown, contributors.

I mean if you follow the money.

papertiger on February 22, 2015 at 3:42 AM

Another rather conspicuous dot on the domestic terrorist map is Anchorage Alaska. No alot happens there terrorism-wise. Pretty sure the incident was #36 out of 50 terror plot foiled since 9/11. (list compiled by the Heritage Foundation).

Paul G. Rockwood, Jr., and Nadia Piroska Maria Rockwood—July 2010. Paul G. Rockwood, Jr., an American citizen, became an adherent to Anwar al-Awlaki’s ideology of violent jihad after converting to Islam. In studying al-Awlaki’s teachings, Rockwood came to believe it was his religious responsibility to seek revenge against anyone who defiled Islam. He created a list of 15 individuals to be targeted for assassination, including several members of the U.S. military. Rockwood is said to have researched explosive techniques and discussed the possibility of killing his targets with a gunshot to the head or through mail bombs. Nadia Piroska Maria Rockwood, Paul’s wife, knowingly transported the list to Anchorage, Alaska, to share with an unnamed individual who apparently shared Rockwood’s ideology. The list then made it into the hands of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force in Anchorage.
Paul was charged with making false statements to the FBI in a domestic terrorism charge, while Nadia was charged with making false statements to the FBI in connection to the case against her husband. Paul was sentenced to eight years in prison, while his wife was sentenced to five years probation.

Again not a right wing terrorist but instead one of those local guy converts to Islam type terrorist plots that this president refuses to mention by name.

The other Northern California dot, which is located on the map approximately over Grass Valley/Nevada City, the DHS put it in the wrong spot, because they’re stupid and worthless.

It’s supposed to be Lodi, California, Hamid Hayat, a Pakistani immigrant, was arrested in Lodi, California, after allegedly lying to the FBI about his attendance at an Islamic terrorist training camp in Pakistan.

No way you can peg Hamid Hayat as a tea party conservative. He’s a Allah be Damned import.

I know these things because it happened so rarely.

Spying on “sovereign individuals” and clamping down on individual liberties is a self fulfilling prophecy.

The concept of sovereign individualism is a libertarian principle and is shared by the most successful and educated member of society, not domestic terrorists.

From what I understand about the movement, these attacks most likely happened when a member was confronted by authority. The member most likely didn’t have any valid ID (one of their main things) and was probably carrying multiple weapon (for defense in their mind). So, instead of the possible arrest for weapons charges, they attack the authority figure while they have the upper hand.

DHS: You right wingnuts are worse than ISIS

How perceptive. Did you know that before the United States formally became a country there was: 1 NO DISEASE 2 NO WAR 3 NO FAMINE 4 NO DEATH? The Four Horsemen did not start riding and spreading evil until after 1776 when heterosexual white men started running things.

The formation of ISIS is a tour-de-force in white incompetence. Evil WHIte HETerosexial MAles (EWHIHETMA) (mostly American but with large minorities in Europe, Australia & New Zealand)turned paradise into a world filled with the hatred, lust, disease, hunger, war and death. This also created world-wide unemployment. Peace loving Muslims, unable to provide bread to their starving families were left with no choice but to join ISIS and start publicly beheading innocent Christians and roasting enemies alive in cages by pouring gasoline on them and touching a match to it. What choice did these poor ISIS members have?

ISIS doesn’t need our condemnation nor punishment but rather social workers, with food stamps and green cards in each hand welcoming them to the burgeoning American family!!!!

The enemy within appears to be DHS and a number of the other lettered agencies. Even if they are populated with many good people, their executive lines are thoroughly politicized to the point where it’s not clear that any of them could tell the difference between abuse of power or corruption and legitimate government policy.

No presidential candidate has observed this cancer as yet, so we cannot expect it to be addressed.

What do we do with the massive legions of over-“educated” socialists clogging the arteries of government? Giving them responsible jobs has led us to this point.

Suggest that budgets be cut, across the board in all government departments – keep the good people and let the politicos drift off to their non-profits and marijuana cooperatives. Public policy can be really simple here: stop paying for bad results.

It’s funny that his administration thinks that people who support the constitution are terrorist, while the person who is trying to destroy this country lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. It’s also funny that the DHS definition of a “Sovereign Citizen” is someone who doesn’t believe they have to follow federal laws, once again that person who doesn’t believe they don’t have to follow laws lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Not originally mine but so well put…..

I’m sorry, going to throw the bullshit flag on this from the outset.

If there were TWENTY-FOUR “terrorist” attacks since 2010 that were pinned on “right-wing” citizens, do you for one damn minute think that Obama and the Democrats/media wouldn’t have been bleating that from the mountain-tops 24-7?

This is *beyond* bullshit – and we saw it coming. When they announced this ‘extremism confab’ and said ‘muslim extremism’ was off the table, how many people half-jokingly knew that conservatives and ‘right-wing’ extremism would be of significant focus instead?

This story doesn’t even begin to pass the sniff test.

Midas on February 22, 2015 at 2:47 PM

You fail to understand, Jazz – the “sovereign citizens”* aren’t a threat to other citizens, they are a threat to the government. This is why DHS is concerned. They don’t care about the threat to citizens, only the threat to themselves.

* A lot of the “sovereign citizens” are NOT conservatives. These are often nutjobs who are more anarchist than rebellious.

GWB on February 22, 2015 at 3:00 PM

DHS is the ultimate nut job for attempting to make citizens the problem when it actually is DHS and their ilk. In the 60s and 70s the streets were filled with ranting, destructive anti-war hippies in support of Democrats and their liberal cohorts. None were worse than John Kerry and his lying bunch of pigs. Obama ran with the same crowd and is now trying to fix blame somewhere other than himself. Political dissent is necessary, legal and called for when government becomes overly intrusive. For centuries dictators, ruling zealots, kings and commissars have tried to quell political dissent whenever citizens challenged the heads of governments. They must not be allowed to get away with this attempt to strip citizens of their right to dissent.

“Some of you are looking puzzled. Why do we have democracy in this country? I’ll give you a blunt and simple answer, which means, of course, that it’s not the whole truth. We have democracy because around 1880 the distribution of weapons in this society was such that no minority could make a majority obey. If you have a society in which weapons are cheap, so that almost anyone can obtain them, and are easy to use — what I call amateur weapons — then you have democracy.

“But if the opposite is true, weapons extremely expensive and very difficult to use — the medieval knight, for example, with his castle, the supreme weapons of the year 1100 — in such a system, with expensive and difficult-to-use weapons, you could not possibly have majority rule. But in 1880 for $100 you could get the two best weapons in the world, a Winchester rifle and a Colt revolver; so almost anyone could buy them. With weapons like these in the hands of ordinary people, no minority could make the majority obey a despotic government.” -Carroll Quigley

“Sovereign Citizens” are just one branch of right-wing extremists in the CNN playbook. The others are “Constitutionalists” (apparently, trying to make the Government abide by its own founding document renders one an extremist) and “The Tea Party” (which advocates for fiscal responsibility and a resultant reduction in taxes). All of these are anathema.

Of course, the term “right-wing extremist” is ThinkSpeak for the right wing (or “reich-wing” as often used in LA Times commentary) in general.

If we were to take that concept and equate the Weathermen on the left with “left-wing extremists” and hence to the left wing in general, we’d have parity but a lot of screaming from the children of the left. Sounds good to me, given that there have been far more than 24 violent encounters with leftists in this county — in fact, I count several times that as a result of Gentle Giant’s encounter with ultimate destiny.

Rights and liberties may be granted by God, but the document which says so is part and parcel of our Government.

We live in a world of governments, and those governments have lawmaking and the courts to interpret said laws and an executive function to enforce them. The Sovereign Citizen movement is about as dead as said Governments can make them, because, of course, a Sovereign Citizen, in his or her mind, is beholden to noone but themselves.

Such people do indeed scare me, as they rightly should scare anyone who doesn’t recognize the Constitution or the system of law which derives from it, and I’m not even a police officer.

If you can imagine “loosely organized anarchists”, you get the idea. They oppose everything about our system of government, especially taxes above the local level (and, in more extreme cases, even taxation at the local level). In their mind, governments are not needed, for a philosophy of “do no harm, and allow no harm to be done to me” really is what suffices. To that end, most Sovereign Citizens are armed.

Of course, every once in a while, one or more of them forget the first part of the mantra, and go kill some police innocently eating donuts in a coffee shop in Las Vegas, on the principle that said police are representatives of a repressive regime.

And they do like to drive on roads for whose maintenance they refuse taxation.

It was optional to go to, so I didn’t because I could read the writing on the wall and knew the kind of people they would portray as threats. I manage to procure one of the manuals, and my suspicions were confirmed.

Here is who they want you to look out for as they could be a “bomber” and why: (rewritten verbatim from manual)
Frustrated business man who fails to close an agreement.
An angry parent whose child must attend a school where an AIDS victim is enrolled.
Bribes to obtain large sums of money.
Political or moral viewpoints.

Here is another one under “Bomb Search Precautions”:
Be aware of objects that look out of place or don’t fit in. One example might be a Bible in a room filled with pornographic posters.

Not ONCE in that manual does it ever talk about maybe keeping an eye on… oh, an Arab guy muttering verses from the koran or something.
See how they place the Bible in there though, to imply once again to watch for those “Christian terrorists”?!

It is not surprising that the DHS is implying this, and that people will lap it up and start believing it as well. They are being conditioned to do so. WAKE UP!!!

Hey Unclesmrgol

Here’s the cop shooter Jerad Miller’s detailed record compiled by local CBS in Las Vegas .

Dude was in and out of jails where ever he landed, evicted from his home a month before the shooting. I can see where he would have complained about the system. An unsavory character.

But here’s the thing. He’s not a movement.
I wouldn’t have enjoyed having him as a next door neighbor. He’s the reason we have police. No doubt. But I am much more afraid of a system pointing at this guy calling him a domestic terrorist to use as an excuse to expand DHS, curtail gun ownership, or impinge on the rights of the rest of us.

It’s not that Jared was opposed to taxes as much as it was he couldn’t afford to pay them.

extremist tree huggers: torching buildings, destroying crops, damaging world heritage sites, and criminal conspiracies to defraud American corporations.

BWAHAHAHAH… Just had a mental vision of Obama sitting at the Resolute Desk reading that list out-loud, only to follow it up by singing… “These are a few of my favorite things”
oscarwilde on February 21, 2015 at 5:52 PM

Ooh, I love when we do this:

♫♫Bright nature lovers who set fire to buildings;
Vandals who damage historical settings,
Crops poisoned, suits filed, wild legal flings,
These are a few of my favorite things!♫♫

Who’s next?

massrighty on February 22, 2015 at 7:21 PM

sterile old women who cry for a child
men who are heedless and behave as if wild
teens who were raised to adore only bling
Obama does work to continue this thing……

DHS has little if any credibility; the same goes for the current “administration,” and most if not all of our so-called “government.”

(And the truth is, we don’t have “government” any more, and haven’t had it for quite some time. Government is supposed to defend the Constitution, uphold the law, and serve the public, with limited powers derived from the consent of the governed. Since NONE of these describe what the so-called “government” does and is, “government” simply isn’t an accurate term for them.)

The treasonous statist thugs who purport to be government have been at war with the citizens now for quite some time. Accordingly, I suspect that many if not most if not all of these so-called “sovereign citizen attacks” (to the extent they exist) are just retaliation for crimes initiated against them.

A great many conservatives, libertarians warned us about the DHS, the Patriot act at it’s founding.. more of us should have listened. Too many never considered that we could ever have a left wing Chavez wanna be elected president.. that tools we might, might trust in some hands would fall into the hands of leftist thugs who see the Hunger Games as a how to manual..

The lesson may be learned,.. the critical part is, will the next president dismantle it and go back to using the FBI as intended, the other agencies.. Because it’s pretty clear now that Obama and his band of thugs are weaponizing them to destroy dissent, rather than fight terror..

The part that really makes you crazy, is the media is happily helping him attack and destroy anyone who speaks out..

When the president kiss Islam’s @ss, smears Christians, and the media just nods like bobble head dolls about the REAL threat being people who think conservatively, or are libertarians.. you know they have not only chosen a side, they are active combatants.

God help this country, because the lunatic academic left has the entire media on it’s side… and they simply hate normal America with a zealous passion.

Very creative. Good job!

But what a sad indictment on where our nation is headed because too many have been taught not to question or pay attention, just follow the media.

The me generation has created the “self” generation.

In either case he is a joke.

Someone please help me understand.
This is what DHS worries about and we have McConnell folding like a cheap camera to fully fund them.
If this article has any truth to it then letting them completely shut down is the only responsible thing to do.

At this point in my life I would be proud to be considered by the DHS as a serious threat to the security of DHS and their saddle bums. I’m a old, white, blue-eyed, gun -totin’, combat veteran conservative devil without one hesitation of sending one of theirs to to their reward. Out here we live like this:
1) Live each day with courage.
2) Take pride in your work.
3) Always finish what you start.
4) Do what has to be done.
5) Be tough, but fair.
6) When you make a promise, keep it.
7) Ride for the brand.
8) Talk less and say more.
9) Remember that some things
aren’t for sale.
10) Know where to draw the line.

Indian casino with attached hotel.

I don’t work there anymore, so I couldn’t tell you, Dent. ;-) You wouldn’t want to work there anyway, unless you like the legal racism they utilize in their hiring, firing, and grievance practices, calling it Indian “Preference”. No surprise they are big supporters of democrats.
