Hot new gun-control idea: Steal your parents’ gun and bring it to school
posted at 6:31 pm on December 22, 2014 by Allahpundit
Via the Blaze and Charles Cooke, who spots three separate crimes committed by this young do-gooder in the span of about 40 seconds. Imagine how excited mom will be to learn not only that her baby boy was handling the family semiautomatic but actually reported her to the authorities. A few years ago, before the Supreme Court’s Heller decision, having a handgun in your home for self-defense was a criminal offense in plenty of blue jurisdictions. I like to imagine that this clip is set in 2005 and young Billy returns home that day to find mom being carted off to do seven years in the pen for trying to protect him in defiance of the state’s wishes. Good luck paying for college, kiddo.

Bmore, just steal the list and bring it to school ’em with.

What about Felony Moonbattery?
malclave on December 22, 2014 at 9:02 PM
Bmore it is a free world, the information there can be compiled by anyone so I have no Copyright, Trademark or Patent on it, thanks for asking though ;)
So yes, use at will just do not attribute to yourself :)
OregonPolitician on December 22, 2014 at 9:03 PM
Nope. Can’t steal. I’ll wait on his reply if he makes one. I will flag the vid at Youtube as others have done. If he permits use of the comment points on the list.

OP,
What? Were Jewsbury, Danso, Kah, Valeri, Urruti, Nagbe & Alhassan already taken?
Christien on December 22, 2014 at 9:11 PM
What is their facebook address?
I still cannot get over how nobody associated with this, no matter how tangentially, brought up how utterly stupid the concept was.
It would have been easy to disable comments on youtube if they had any idea how stupid their project was.
I mean, I get it, it was supposed to scare people about a kid bringing a gun to school, and turning it in for safety was the payoff.

When I want to blow a liberal’s mind, I wait for them to say something about guns, I casually say, “My daughter has a gun…”
They sputter and dither for a moment, and say, “How old is she, five???”
“No, four…”
“You’re out of your mind! How can you let a toddler have a gun?”
I reply, “When my wife was pregnant, the first person we told was my Dad, but he died of lymphoma before she was born, and he never got to meet his granddaughter. When we going through his things, I found a Henry 22 LR lever-action rifle that appears to be in unfired, virgin condition. It is for my Punkin’… she’s never held it or even seen it, but when she is old enough and responsible enough, maybe six or eight or ten years old, I will take her out and teach her how to shoot it and how to handle guns safely and responsibly, and when we’re done, we’ll lock it back up. But yeah, my four year old has a gun…”
Their expressions are priceless…

I don’t have a problem with arming teachers, but I’m not sure I see how that stops gun violence. It might minimize school shootings, but that won’t help much in Chicago.
Oh, and kill the cheesy music. Sounded like George Winston fell asleep at the keyboard or something.

I have never seen such an irresponsible promotion in my life. Every single adult involved in this mindless aberration should be jailed immediately. If anyone becomes injured or killed because of this, these idiots are personally responsible.

The producers of the video should be tried and locked up, for inciting and endangering the kids.

Special thanks to North Oakland Community Charter School ? WTF? Do these people have any idea who it is that tirelessly supports charter schools? Do they recognize the punitive choke hold that organized labor puts on their children? The adults that made this are the ungrateful pawns in a bigger game, suckers to the end. Thank God my children learned to think for themselves.
Jay Bee on December 23, 2014 at 1:55 AM
Did you notice how “The Kid” and “The Teacher” (the latter of whom gets all of two seconds or so on screen and no lines) are named roles?
Meanwhile, his mother, whom he clearly loves, who loves him back, and who by all appearances is a perfectly sane, decent and normal woman who keeps him clothed, fed, schooled and sheltered in a stable, comfortable home, is credited as an “extra?”
Funny, how would he feel “[un]safe with a gun in my house” if the gun was in the care of such a woman? That’s because it doesn’t matter whose it is: the point is that guns are evil, murderous machines with minds of their own (it’s only cleverly disguised as an inert piece of metal hidden harmlessly from sight in a dresser drawer).
Amazing how easily such a central character to the story gets shunted off into irrelevance when the skids are greased by a total lack of understanding of, or regard for, the dynamics of a loving family.

I wonder what the libs would be saying if the son was going into moms drawer and came across mommeys other toy. They would probably have him bring it into class for show and tell.
tom2789 on December 23, 2014 at 5:52 AM
First, that is a Crosman C11 BB gun with the orange tip removed.
Second, are they suggesting that children possess the judgement to decide how the house should be run? I had a niece who was deathly afraid of balloons when she was little. Should I have done a PSA and proposed legislation to ban them?
Finally, I oil my weapons after cleaning. I also store them accordingly, not in the middle of clothing. I can just picture the people at her office, “Have you noticed Mary always smells like Break Free CLP?”

This is an old leftist trick. If the name Pavlik Morozov doesn’t mean anything to you, Google it.
morganfrost on December 23, 2014 at 8:36 AM
Is there someone out there with the skill and resources to remake this into 1) a parody showing the mother taken away and the child sent off to a state facility somewhere, 2) the kid being arrested for bringing a gun to school and getting expelled and so forth, or 3) the mother being killed by her stalker? Bill Whittle? Remy? This *needs* to be done in a “truth” version.

Oakland?
So where is the PSA of the kid sitting with the teacher, while six armed gang bangers are standing in the doorway, while he tells her “I don’t feel safe with my father in a gang”…? Or better yet, show him walking home from school with drug dealers on the corner, being solicited by hookers, no food in the house, while mom is sitting in the living room getting high.
Oakland…Crap tax base because big business left. Liberal politicians. People on AFDC. Guns, drugs, violent crime.
And the problem is some pollyanna mother reading a book with a gun in her underwear drawer?
GeeWhiz on December 23, 2014 at 9:41 AM
I don’t think this is analagous.
With Pavlik Morozov, they were putting out a false narrative.
That’s not what they’re doing here.
Rather than attempting to create a mythological narrative, they’re attempting to inspire adolescents to enagage in “Hitler Youth”-esque behavior.
It’s fascism masquerading as activism.
Star Bird on December 23, 2014 at 9:44 AM
Another humorous observation….
They probably taught the kids the proper way to handle a gun you’re not presently aiming at a target — finger OFF the trigger — so they wouldn’t get mercilessly mocked by gun owners.
We can see how that worked out.
CurtZHP on December 23, 2014 at 9:45 AM
To put this another way, Pavlik Morozov is part of the age old leftist tactic of manufacturing a hate crime hoax, in order to prove a point that doesn’t exist.
I don’t think that’s what is happening here.
Star Bird on December 23, 2014 at 9:53 AM
Sorry I haven’t read the comments but how likely is it that this kid would get the chance to explain why he has a gun on school grounds?
Cindy Munford on December 23, 2014 at 10:03 AM
Typical liberal BS. The only people who would watch this video and come away thinking that the kid did the right thing are other libs.
He didn’t feel safe with a gun in the house? What, did he think the gun was going to magically float into his room one night and start shooting? Or that mommy might pull it out if he didn’t do his homework? Only liberals are afraid of guns and not the whackjob criminals that abuse them.
billboy89 on December 23, 2014 at 10:08 AM

dominigan on December 23, 2014 at 10:17 AM
Or the parents. This was years ago. Son had car trouble and he dumps off our kids at elementary school and middle school and then drives to high school. Just so happens that I was going to our lake cabin and was taking along a few guns for sport and the like. Yep, he took my truck and The Wife was going to make a swap out. She did not think about the guns. Class III at that. I about had a heart attack in the driveway.
What a disaster. Luckily, the climate was not as bad as it is now or our family would have made national news. The list of possible bad is longer than I care to type.
HonestLib on December 23, 2014 at 10:23 AM
The best parts of HotAir are like this – actually debating the nuances of the tactics the left uses to attain its power. :)
GWB on December 23, 2014 at 10:33 AM
The left hates children. If they’re not aborting them.. they’re hiding behind them or using them.
JellyToast on December 23, 2014 at 10:42 AM
I know that many Libs and all Lefties don’t give anyone who doesn’t think like them credit for, well, thinking, but what’s missing here is a considerate portrayal of a child who is disturbed by the fact that Mommy foolishly keeps a gun in her underwear drawer and not in a, oh, I dunno, a simple safe? A loyal yet concerned child might also ask “Hey, Maw, I’ve heard of these things called trigger locks – could you get one?”
Better yet, a truly curious child (they still exist, right?) might just ask a parent obviously concerned about family safety and self-defense if they could learn how to approach, handle and use(!) the gun.
In this PSA’s world however, the Model Kinder is one who simply reacts sentimentally and in harmony with the prevailing Gestalt. Parent = flawed thing, poor decision-maker. School (State) = Institute that must be served.

They most enjoy using kids’ dead bodies.
dentarthurdent on December 23, 2014 at 10:50 AM
It would be a better video if the kid took the gun to his mom and said “Mom, I don’t feel safe with this gun just laying in your drawer like that. You really should have it on you at all times.”

Remember the video these anti-gun wackos did some months ago – a guy busting into the house and shooting his ex and kidnapping the kid? Someone did a variant on that one with the Mom pulling a gun and scaring the guy off.
I’d like to see a similar video tying together that one and this new one where the guy breaks in but the mom can’t find her gun cuz stupid kid took it to school.
Of course the other variants where the kid and his mom get arrested for him taking her gun to school would also be good.
dentarthurdent on December 23, 2014 at 11:12 AM
..dunno if anyone pointed this out here, but the You Tube count (at this writing) was something like 97 likes to 13K dislikes. Try as they will, I cannot see the anti-gunners being able to justify that as being similar to Obama’s “unspoken majority” crapola.
Additionally, I have to repost a comment I left on the video: wasn’t it the Hitlerjugend who were encouraged to rat their parents out to the state back in Nazi Germany?
Cold dead hands, baby, cold dead hands.

I’ve mentioned before about my wife’s latest t-shirt purchase – an AR/AK type rifle leaning against a gravestone and below the picture says “You still can’t have it.”
dentarthurdent on December 23, 2014 at 11:50 AM
I’m thinking we should apply the current regimes’ approach to “hard to police properly” crimes.
Just make it legal.
BobMbx on December 23, 2014 at 11:55 AM
Sigh, The Wife has a shirt almost like that, but with a different meaning.
HonestLib on December 23, 2014 at 11:59 AM
My parent’s bedroom was absolutely off-limits when I was growing up. When did that change?
So after, the little snitch turns in the guns, next will be books on the restricted lists? The Declaration of Independence? The constitution of the United States of America?
Books by Rush Limbaugh, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, John Stuart Mills, Frederich Hayek?
Then we could work on the food. Turn in food that is GMO, has gluten, has fat, has sugar.
I’m opposed to abortion, but if this becomes a pattern, I might be in favour of the old Roman law that allowed parents to kill their children until they reached the age of majority.
patch on December 23, 2014 at 1:18 PM
I don’t understand how come no one was shot. I mean, the boy had a gun. In his hand! and no one died. obviously complete fiction, since guns shoot people. That’s all they do.
Right?

Axeman on December 23, 2014 at 5:57 PM
The group that made the video is criminally stupid! Enticing gullible children to commit several felonies. At the minimum: weapons theft; illegal concealed carry; weapon possession on school grounds.
They could get some kid killed, too. School resource officers are often with the city police, not school district security force. There have already been a number of kids killed carrying BB guns walking down the street in the past year. I imagine the police would be a lot more prone to shoot at a school if they saw a student with a handgun.
