Contrary to Brown family statement, stepfather urged protesters to ‘Burn this b**** down!”

posted at 1:21 pm on November 25, 2014 by Noah Rothman

The parents of the late Michael Brown Jr., Michael Brown Sr. and Lesley McSpadden, released a calming and powerful statement on Monday night in the wake of a grand jury decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of that unarmed teenager over the summer.

“While we understand that many others share our pain, we ask that you channel your frustration in ways that will make a positive change. We need to work together to fix the system that allowed this to happen,” the statement read. “We respectfully ask that you please keep your protests peaceful. Answering violence with violence is not the appropriate reaction.”

The Brown family’s comments were so measured that they were cited by President Barack Obama when he took to the podium in the White House on Monday night ahead of riots which were soon to spiral out of control.

The spirit of that statement was not, however, matched by the Brown family’s actions.

McSpadden, inconsolable with grief in the wake of the grand jury’s decision, appeared before a crowd in Ferguson alongside her husband, Louis Head. While consoling his grieving wife, Head (beginning about 1:30 and exploding at the 3:10 mark) determined that the best way to address what he perceived to be injustice was to “Burn this s*** down! Burn this b**** down!” (Language Warning):

While these may have simply been understandable expressions of anguish, it seems that his audience nevertheless took Head’s advice.

Um… Excuse me, but isn’t this angry woman the same one who “raised” a 300 lb wrecking ball who thought he could take whatever he wanted from a liquor and tobacco store, walk down the middle of the street, refuse to honor the lawful request of a duly sworn officer of the law, and then physically assault that officer while trying to wrest that officer’s weapon away from him?

You want justice, honey? Your boi got it on Aug 9.

I’ve read the sworn testimony of Officer Wilson. People like Mr. Brown, who engage in that sort of behavior are asking for whatever fate they receive.

I dunno… she doesn’t sound very smart. Maybe she fed the “gentle giant” lead paint chips when he was a wee giant.

Conservative Mischief on November 25, 2014 at 3:47 PM

MLK Jr. had this to say about conservatives:

I had no alternative but to urge every Negro and white person of goodwill to vote against Mr. Goldwater and to withdraw support from any Republican candidate that did not publicly disassociate himself from Senator Goldwater and his philosophy.

Ranger Gord on November 25, 2014 at 2:23 PM

Ah, another Canadian Leftist shows up to rewrite history for us.

In your blind racism, you totally ignore the following facts, because they don’t fit your race-baiting narrative.

1. MLK also said that Barry Goldwater was not a racist. You can find said quote at the official MLK website.

2. Curiously, at that very same official MLK website, I find absolutely no mention of the fact that Barry Goldwater later apologized for voting against the Civil Rights Act.

3. Likewise, in my research at that official MLK website, I saw absolutely no mention of the following:

A. That Barry Goldwater had in fact voted in favor of every single other piece of civil rights legislation Congress brought up between 1953 and 1964.

B. That Barry Goldwater had in fact voted in favor of the original Senate version of the 1964 Civil Rights Bill.

C. That when Phoenix Arizona was segregated in the 1950s, Goldwater supported civil rights for blacks, even hiring blacks for his family business.

D. That following World War II, Goldwater was instrumental in leading the fight to desegregate the US Armed Forces. In fact, Arizona desegregated their own National Guard before Democrat President Harry Truman did so on the national level.

Shouting “Burn this b*tch down!” to a mob is incitement to riot.

I think that used to be against some law.

Like crossing the border illegally.

Welp. That theory of chudsi’s that Darren Wilson won’t ever make money again is shot to hell. ABC paid mid-to-high six figures for Darren Wilson interview.

Judge_Dredd on November 25, 2014 at 2:59 PM

I pointed that out to poor Puddy in last night’s epic thread. Also mentioned that since Wilson was wounded in the line of duty, he’ll undoubtedly get a healthy police pension. Add to that the fact that he recently married a female cop, that’s more than enough $ to have coming in.

And then no doubt there will be a book deal, a movie deal…

What really confused poor Puddy last night was when I asked her what justification a potential future employer would have for not hiring Wilson.

This was Puddy’s response:

Del Dolemonte on November 25, 2014 at 3:55 PM

Ill-informed opinions to the contrary, justice WAS served in Missouri’s grand jury proceeding. A black robber (Michael Brown) violently resisted arrest and was shot by a licensed peace officer acting in accord with his duty and, apparently, after first being assaulted by said robber. The grand jury found that the physical evidence did not bear out the testimony of (black) “witnesses” who claimed Brown was trying to surrender, some of whom later admitted they never even saw the events themselves. Other witnesses, also black, told a completely different story, some alleging that the wounded Brown actually rushed the officer. So, unless there is a law that says thugs who steal should not be arrested and held to account for their crimes, or one that excuses said thugs for committing bodily assault on a sworn officer of the law, or one that says such an officer may in no case defend himself by means of deadly force, no crime was committed. There is no such law, nor should there be. Michael Brown got his justice. That’s all.

MadVlad on November 25, 2014 at 3:56 PM

That justice is blind and that adhering to the rule of law assures parity for all are not the guiding principles of Obysmal or Holder.

They are agitators stirring unrest and riotous behavior.

Want to stop looting and arson? Shoot those committing these crimes on sight.

The Chief said they would have needed 10,000 more cops to handle the situation, but 100,000 wouldn’t do much good if all they were allowed to do is watch it burn.

You wouldn’t have to shoot too many to clear the streets. But in Democrat-run jurisdictions, the lives and property of the law-abiding and taxpaying is subordinate to appeasing the violent felons ‘protesting’ the death of another violent felony killed in the course of another violent felony.

+1.

And he was only “unarmed” in the way people are using to stir the pot after the situation ends. He’s not unarmed until he’s cuffed and in the car or bleeding out on the ground and any related variables are known.

He may not have a weapon visible or be holding a weapon in his hand, but neither do I when I go to the grocery store. That doesn’t mean I’m unarmed.

Look at all these unarmed people:

Not sure the Head/Brown family is much of a financial target (not many individuals are) but you could likely go after whatever donations are pouring in to support them. Join any party who hosted the forum which planned the riots and the individuals you can ID through TV footage and you probably have a long list of defendants. Once the judgment is in go after any proceeds for book or movie deals.

“Stupid” is robbing a store in broad daylight for a few cigars, pushing the store clerk around on video camera, walking down the middle of the street afterwards, mouthing off at the policeman who tells you to move to the sidewalk, trying to reach INTO a police car to take away the officer’s handgun, taunting him and saying he’s “too much of a p***** to shoot,” and then charging him head on WITH HIS HANDGUN DRAWN.

When you put it all together, Brown had to be one of the most stupid criminals of all time.

Or, more likely, on drugs. Probably pot mixed with something worse.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. However, it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

All that ranting and raving by McSpadden was just for show. She and Michael Brown Sr. were both notified about what the decision was in the early afternoon, hours before it was made it public.

These people (who act like animals) disgust me. If the parents had put more effort into raising Mike Brown maybe this incident wouldn’t have happened.
