Despite highest poverty numbers in 50 years, Obama okays illegals to compete for jobs in US

It simply doesn’t make sense in any sort of context that says the job of the President of the United States is to look after the welfare of the country’s citizens:

The official U.S. unemployment rate has indeed fallen steadily during the past few years, but the economic recovery has created the fewest jobs relative to the previous employment peak of any prior recovery. The labor-force participation rate recently touched a 36-year low of 62.7%. The number of Americans not in the labor force set a record high of 92.6 million in September. Part-time work and long-term unemployment are still well above levels from before the financial crisis.

Worse, middle-class incomes continue to fall during the recovery, losing even more ground than during the December 2007 to June 2009 recession. The number in poverty has also continued to soar, to about 50 million Americans. That is the highest level in the more than 50 years that the U.S. Census has been tracking poverty. Income inequality has risen more in the past few years than at any recent time.

The true indicator of the actual unemployment rate is the labor participation rate. It is at a 36 year low. The fudged numbers used by the US government hides the actual depth of joblessness problem. And, frankly, it’s a “buyers market” in the labor market. Lots of labor competition for few jobs. That’s one reason you don’t see incomes rising and you do see underemployed Americans.

So let’s introduce about 5 million illegal workers from other countries and enable them to compete in an already depressed labor market and while we’re at it, let’s agitate for a raise in the minimum wage.

Mind blown.  How do you square that sort of action with your oath of office if you’re the President of the United States?

1) Will the old low-wage illegal alien jobs continue to be filled by the no-longer-illegal-aliens who are now eligible for increased wages and benefits, all put into place by the same businesses who weren’t at all bothered employing them at low wages but who will suddenly cheer and give the newly-legal massive raises, or

(and since you admit President Obama is actively choosing to do absolutely nothing re:faithfully executing (hint:executive) the law to discourage hiring at the employer level)

2) will there simply be more illegal aliens to take the newly-legals’ place at the exact same low-wage jobs since the employers, who weren’t at all bothered by hiring illegal aliens and paying them low wages the first time, still aren’t bothered or the slightest bit worried about President Obama enforcing laws regarding hiring illegal aliens and paying them low wages?

There are no other options, urban elitist. Which do you choose?

C’mon, (D)s. You can do it.

It’s either one or two.

1) The same employers will suddenly see the light and eat the massive cost increases required by their newly-legal employees, or

2) The same employers know there are no repercussions (as UE helpfully pointed out) and will simply promote more illegal aliens entering the country to replace them.

It’s such an easy question for our anti-black workers pro-amnesty (D)s.

Weird how it’s obviously so difficult to answer, isn’t it?

The answer seems so obvious all of a sudden…

1. Put myself in a position to never have to compete with illegals.
2. Move to a gated community.
3. Figure out how to profit at the federal trough.
4. Raise my nose at and/or ignore the riff-raff.
5. Pretend I’m so much smarter than everyone else.
6. Enroll my children in private school.
7. Live the good life.

…the liberal way.

AlL Senators and Representatives should be REQUIRED and MANDATED to put their kids in GOVERNMENT schools!

They should be able to enjoy inferior union schools like their constituents are forced to do because of lousy, incompetent leadership in Washington, DC.

My guess, we have as much or more worthless administrative costs as we do for teachers in the classroom!

And the schools are FAILING dramatically!

Setting aside the parts about the smug sense of superiority and innate racism and classism of the collectivist ‘mind,’ and given the apparently incorrigible behavior of ‘our’ ‘leaders,’ you’ve just described the sensible path for anyone to follow.

BTW, collectivists love it when you call them liberals. You may think it is an insult, and that may be true in your circle, but it carries an incredibly positive historical meaning. Classical liberals were the exact opposite of today’s collectivists.
