Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

posted at 8:01 am on August 24, 2014 by Allahpundit

I thought jihadi savages cutting off an American’s head followed by a presidential vow of vengeance would be enough to make James Foley the lead story on the Sunday shows. Nope: It’s more navel-gazing over Ferguson this morning, with Missouri Gov. Jay “Vigorous Prosecution” Nixon the lead guest on “Meet the Press” and “State of the Union” and Rep. William Lacy Clay, whose district includes Ferguson, on “This Week” and “Face the Nation.” If it’s ISIS news you want, stick with “This Week” for Homeland Security Committee chair Michael McCaul or “Fox News Sunday” for John McCain, who’ll naturally be demanding that the U.S. do much, much, much more than it’s already doing.

If none of that grabs you, Rand Paul will also be on “Meet the Press” to chat about the eye surgeries he’s performing in Guatemala during Congress’s August recess. The full line-up is at the AP.

A crowd-funding page created for Wilson raised $235,010 from 5,902 people before organizers stopped accepting donations Friday after surpassing their goal of $100,000 in four days. The group then opened a new fundraising page, which already has more than $104,000.

This amount surpasses the more than $214,000 raised in support of the Michael Brown Memorial Fund. According to the page, which was set up by Brown family lawyer Benjamin Crump, “the funds will assist his family with costs that they will acquire as they seek justice on Michael’s behalf.”

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/08/23/support-darren-wilson-rally/14495459/

Note that the brown fund was setup by the lawyer who also represented trayvon’s family–to assist brown’s “family with costs that they will acquire as they seek justice.” Guess who’s getting that money.

Mmmmm, Bacon:

Local Winooski, Vermont restaurant Sneakers Bistro has removed a sign that read, “Yield Sneakers Bacon” citing opposition from a Muslim community member and safety concerns.

The sign was put up as part of a city program that allows businesses to post an advertisement in an area where they have helped maintain city flowerbeds. The sign that read “Yield Sneakers Bacon” was removed after a woman, identifying herself as a Muslim, posted in an online community forum, stating she was personally offended by the sign, according to a WPTZ News report. WPTZ wrote that the woman who complained online called the sign “insensitive to those who do not consume pork.”

Saturday morning the restaurant posted to Facebook, “We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics. We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety(emphasis added). Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”

Profiling:

A SWAT team on the campus of California State University San Marcos surrounded a staff member equipped with protective rain gear this week.

The incident, which occurred early Wednesday morning, was prompted by a call to the San Diego County Sheriff’s office of a bald white male, wearing a black shirt and jeans and walking across campus carrying a rifle. This resulted in a shelter-in place order for some 400 staff and students going through orientation before the start of the fall session. Rapidly, facility and classmates banded together to barricade doors with tables and chairs, expecting the worst.

The situation resolved itself after 30 minutes when an umbrella-bearing teacher figured out he matched the description of the alleged gunman and surrendered to law enforcement.

lawyer Benjamin Crump, “the funds will assist his family with costs that they will acquire as they seek justice on Michael’s behalf.”

The word you’re looking for, dumbazz, is “incur.” The costs they will incur in stringing up a cop for doing his job. Good Lord, how idiots like Crump ever got admitted to law school, graduated from law school, and passed a bar exam is beyond me. Oh, wait, no, it’s not. Yay, affirmative action!

And, needless to say, if Crump were really in this for anything more than his own self-aggrandizement, he (and his fellow dumbazzes) would be working pro bono.

The national media might give this a mention here and there — you know, get on record, check the box — but the national media are too busy hoping their rabid speculation and divisive race-baiting in Ferguson, Missouri, will eventually pay off.

Antonio was 9.

Still, the national media and America’s civil rights racial grifters won’t give a damn because there is no political upside in giving a damn — not in Chicago. Not in a city that on paper should be a Gun-Free Utopia after decades of purely Democrat rule.

No one in the national media has the courage to investigate root causes anywhere leftwing policies have been in place unabated for nearly a half-century.

Sorry, Antonio, if you’re black and there’s no political upside for them, you just don’t matter to the media or the Civil Rights mob.

Welcome to the DNC Media Propaganda Hour, kids! Join the DNC Media for all of the (lefty) opinions that Americans need to hear as we continue to survey the general meltdown of America under O’Bozo – The First Clown President.

The bad news: Sorry I’m late; this week Allah’s chosen blogging method of outsourcing the thing to Politico fails, in that Politico refused to do their part. So it’s over to AP at Yahoo, or something, as the Dog Days shut down D.C. and the media.

The other bad news: not much research needed, because other than the cops, you know all of these douchebag network news fixtures. Same old, same old.

Let’s have a gander:

ABC’s “This Week” —
• Michael McCaul
• William Lacy Clay Jr.

No need for labels: a conservative and a dopey race-victim liberal, moderated by another dopey liberal.

NBC’s “Meet the Press” —
• Jay Nixon – Liberal
• Mike Rogers – RINO
• Al Sharpton – Racist Kook
• Rand Paul – Libertarian
• Peter Westmacott (British Ambassador to U.S.) – NA / Brit Liberal

Guess they’re gonna prop up Bernie Ferguson some more and then ask what we do about these sub-human savages in Syria, huh? Take it away…Rand.

CBS’ “Face the Nation” —
• Clay – Lib
• Paul Ryan – Former Conservative
• Kelly Ayotte – RINO

Two libs, two RINOs. Every opinion except the one that matters.

CNN’s “State of the Union” —
• Nixon – Race Lib
• Lindsey Graham – RINO
• Jack Reed – Kook Left
• Detroit’s police chief, James Craig – NA
• Dallas’ deputy police chief, Malik Aziz – NA
• Montgomery County, Maryland’s police chief, Thomas Manger – NA

For simplicity, I decided that the political positions of police chiefs doesn’t matter unless it does. Every major city in the U.S. is controlled by liberals, so every police chief is a liberal Democrat unionist jackass. At least the Detroit guy has the sense to tell the citizens to defend themselves.

FOX’S “Fox News Sunday” —
• John McCain – RINO

This’ll go something like this:
Chris: “So, Senator, I guess you should have been elected President to prevent ISIS from developing?”
McCain: “Yeah…”

Summary: more Republicans than usual; same old RINO jerks; lots of race politics, since that what drives the Media-Democrap coalition along. Yawn.

An Oprah-inspired program in public schools described by critics as an intrusive, emotionally manipulative effort with the laudable goal of ending bullying, cliques, gossip and other such behaviors, has been presented to a million students in 400 cities in 47 states.

Challenge Day, the subject of the 2010 MTV series, “If You Really Knew Me,” promises to provide schools and communities with “experiential programs that demonstrate the possibility of love and connection through the celebration of diversity, truth, and full expression.”

But critics contend Challenge Day, an independent, nonprofit program, can do more harm than good and pose a danger to emotionally fragile students, lacking privacy safeguards normally expected in counseling programs.

Schools pay $3,200, plus travel expenses, to bring Challenge Day to their students.

It’s more a feed at the federal trough program (or imho, federal parasites) than nonprofit program, though those running it surely are profiting. They give the schools guidance on how to apply for a Federal grants to pay the $3,200 and expenses. So in essence Challenge Day hides the fact that it’s a Federal Program by which progressive corruptocrats in the federal government get to shower their crony progressives like Oprah and her coterie on the civilian side with your hard earned money.

This focus on race in Ferguson is like a slap in the face of MLK, over and over again. A step back every time we do it. There’s zero evidence that anything the cop did was based on race. I’d rhetorically ask, given what we know, what should he have done differently?

This appealing to race and class divisions appeals to the lowest, basest human instincts. It’s horrible. And yet with the Ferguson story it’s going on and on and on, millions of times a day. We’re digging a hole deeper and deeper for ourselves. When does it stop — when we reach China?

Okay, back to the question, Hucksterbee. How does CC academic standards benefit struggling students?

Juan Williams is talking about racial fears and Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown. Isn’t it ironic each incident began with an unprovoked, vicious assault by a young black man on a white man who was making a real effort to keep their neighbhorhood safe?

What’s the logical conclusion. Young black men like to hit whites in the head, hard? When you look at what happened, I don’t understand how either incident can be held up as evidence of whites discriminating against blacks.

I thought jihadi savages cutting off an American’s head followed by a presidential vow of vengeance would be enough to make James Foley the lead story on the Sunday shows.

For the Left Wing MSM it is more politically expedient and useful to demonize Officer Darren Wilson, the Ferguson PD, and the police in the US in general. Plus it is easier to just make bad stuff up about them and report it as news.

Demonizing Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary and ISIS is unnecessary and would be politically counter productive to the goal of advancing The Cause. And that is all that matters to the Left Wing MSM. Less than two years ago Comrade O declared the big league jihadists were decimated and on the run and all that was left were junior varsity jihadis. They swallowed that propaganda and didn’t question it, not even after the Benghazi terror attack. Instead they attacked anyone who claimed otherwise. The Left Wing MSM do not want to dwell on just how wrong Dear Leader was about that and how badly he has botched things up.

Let’s show the race pimps and Holder hat we are supporting our police and not mob rule, looting and Al Sharpton. Donate to Officer Wilson and let them know that we support the police over that of thugs. The police need to see from us that they have our support. How we support Officer Wilson will send a message to all police officers in small towns across America that we have their backs against the likes of Eric Holder and his lynch mob.

Please donate today. As a matter of fact, do like dems. at the voting booth. Donate now and donate often.

I thought jihadi savages cutting off an American’s head followed by a presidential vow of vengeance would be enough to make James Foley the lead story on the Sunday shows. Nope: It’s more navel-gazing over Ferguson this morning,

Anything related to the Middle East serves to remind the hoi polloi of Obama’s abysmal record of foreign policy incompetence and failure. The media will never cover these stories for one second longer than they absolutely must.

Ferguson, on the other hand, can be spun to reinforce a number of liberal narratives, and there is little about it that reflects negatively on their beloved icon. A perfect distraction.

lawyer Benjamin Crump, “the funds will assist his family with costs that they will acquire as they seek justice on Michael’s behalf.”

Syzygy

I believe this “lawyer” Crump was the same idiot who described Brown’s footwear as “flip-flaps“.

Try as I have, I have not been able to find another human bring who calls these ubiquitous items that. Not that it matters, but it seems somehow revealing.

Wish it was me.
Hot and humid.
Grass needs mowing.
Neighbor seems to have messed up my tractor engine.

Is that a Haiku?

Lolz. No, correct craft. ; ) Managed a few hours, then the rains came, nap time. P.s. Neighbors are always bad to mess stuff up. Long grass uses less water. Upside?

Bmore on August 24, 2014 at 4:32 PM

Acre of grass uses no water … too muck to run a sprinkler. Let God water.
