STILL no inclusion of the candidate most requested to be added in comments of the last 2 polls.

Has hers become the name that cannot be spoken?

miConsevative on July 28, 2014 at 9:30 AM

Is she likely to run, or is she just going to find new ways to put her face on TV while raking in money for her PAC?

DRayRaven on July 28, 2014 at 2:13 PM

Incredibly silly not to include Palin. Has anyone from Hot Air ever explained why she’s omitted when so many second- or third-tier “candidates” are included?

VidOmnia on July 28, 2014 at 2:14 PM

This is push polling at its worst. Shame on you Patrick.

meci on July 28, 2014 at 2:15 PM

Amusing. I mean, the assumption that there really will be a presidential election in 2016.
NOMOBO on July 28, 2014 at 9:40 AM

If there is no Presidential election in 2016 there will be a revolution.

How long do you think Obama’s Civilian Defense “Corpse” will hold out against the coalition of militias made up of military veterans?

Not even a week.

ConstantineXI on July 28, 2014 at 9:47 AM

I am getting impatient.

davidk on July 28, 2014 at 9:50 AM

I passed ‘impatient’ quite awhile ago.

Midas on July 28, 2014 at 2:20 PM

Allen West should be on the list.

As a veep for Ted Cruz, at least.

The anti-Joe Biden for the anti-Obama.

profitsbeard on July 28, 2014 at 2:24 PM

Is she likely to run, or is she just going to find new ways to put her face on TV while raking money for her PAC?

Is she less likely to run than say Condi…or Scarborough…or Carson (who has explicitly said he doesn’t want to run). Yet they make the list. Explain that!

(That last request goes to bothe you DRayRaven and Mr. Ishmael, the creator of this poll who hs been asked by MANY many people before to add Palin to the list.)

Patrick Ishmael, who does this regular HotAir survey, (@theish I believe is his Twitter handle) hides his tweets from the public:
http://www.twitter.com/theish

I tweeted him and asked why he refuses to include Palin’s name in these surveys while including unlikely candidates like Rice, and I’ve received no response from him.

bluegill on July 28, 2014 at 2:39 PM

Maybe you all will have better luck getting a response from Patrick Ishmael regarding his refusal to include Palin as an option.

bluegill on July 28, 2014 at 2:41 PM

Why would any of you be stupid enough to provide HA all that information?

that is the answer

Where’s Sarah Palin?

DaMav on July 28, 2014 at 12:58 PM

NOT running for President, ever.

That having been said, I don’t know why HotAir insists on excluding her when they include Ben Carson and Willard Romney…

Ted the Average on July 28, 2014 at 3:47 PM

I’m just gonna repost this from the June results thread:

The race, in short, has remained stable from last month to this month.

Though, if I’m reading your numbers correctly, your participation has not.

Quick math- could be errors, feel free to point out if I’m wrong, but here’s what I see:

Early May- 3191 total votes.

Late May- 2915 total votes.

June- 2392 votes.

Guess we’ll see what happens in July- maybe a fluke?

I honestly don’t know if Palin is running or not- but if you include Condi Rice, Romney after his statements this weekend that a draft effort would be “silly” etc. but refuse to include Palin, I for one won’t be participating.

Maybe the other stories crowded out the poll, but you left it open a LOOOOOONG time to (IMO) try to drag in those votes.

If you end up with no Palin & under 25-2600 votes, you might want to think about what’s happening. If you get 3000+, obviously I’m wrong.

I’ll be watching to see how it develops…

:)

cs89 on June 16, 2014 at 10:55 AM

Now, to sit back & see how long HA leaves this poll open, and how many votes they get. Should be instructive.

V7_Sport on July 28, 2014 at 3:57 PM

Palin’s not going to run, but cmon, you have Joe Scarborough in the poll ffs.

V7_Sport on July 28, 2014 at 3:57 PM

Your comment is totally irrelevant.

This poll is supposed to gauge HotAir readers’ choices for president. Refusing to include the option to select someone who is probably one of the most popular political figures among readers here is totally inexcusable.

HotAir should be ashamed for this slap in the face to readers.

bluegill on July 28, 2014 at 4:12 PM

You can write in Sarah’s name on the survey.

Fleuries on July 28, 2014 at 4:47 PM

I’m a die-hard Palinista, so if Sarah Palin ran for the office, I’d vote for her, but I really don’t think she’ll run.

zoyclem on July 28, 2014 at 4:49 PM

Another crap poll – no Palin no vote. The powers to be are so afraid to include her, but have included many who’ll never get any farther than the HotAir poll.

Shame you guys don’t understand or could care less about your readeers.

Your comment is totally irrelevant.

The old “LA, LA, LA, LA I CAN’T HEAR YOU” gambit, well played Bluegill, well played.

This poll is supposed to gauge HotAir readers’ choices for president.

Fine. I want George Washington. He’s my choice. He should be on the poll. It aint going to happen, but that’s evidently “totally irrelevant”. What’s Alexander Hamilton doing these days? He’s always been much underutilized in my opinion. Or Superman, I don’t care if he’s fictional, it’s “totally irrelevant”, I want him, therefore it’s a slap in the face that this poll doesn’t include Superman and Jesus.

Refusing to include the option to select someone who is probably one of the most popular political figures among readers here is totally inexcusable.

Ronald Reagan would probably be more popular, I’ll take him as VP. Get on it Patrick.

HotAir should be ashamed for this slap in the face to readers.

Patrick Ishmael refuses to list Palin’s name here, even though she said she would consider a run. Rice
and Scarborough and Carson are listed, though. Even if Ishmael, who ignores tweets from readers, believes it’s unlikely she’ll run, there’s no way anyone can say whether a Palin run is any more or less likely than a, say, Rice or Carson or Scarborough candidacy.

V7_Sport, your referring to dead political figures is simply idiotic and makes you look foolish, by the way.

This poll supposedly seeks to reveal HotAir readers’ choices for president. Whatever you think of their choices, a large number of readers here would support Palin for president over other potential Republican candidates.

Patrick Ishmael should explain why he refuses to put Palin’s name in the list.

Sure there is. It’s called Reason. (I don’t think Rice or Carson or Scarborough should be up there, however Patrick and I discussed this at length on twitter and I accept his reasons) )

V7_Sport, your referring to dead political figures is simply idiotic and makes you look foolish, by the way.

It’s called a “Joke”, some things shouldn’t be taken seriously… sort of like the idea that you have been slapped in the face because Palin wasn’t on a trivial web-poll.

This poll supposedly seeks to reveal HotAir readers’ choices for president.

So you were left with no other choice than to devote your day to this.

Whatever you think of their choices, a large number of readers here would support Palin for president over other potential Republican candidates.

“Spongebob, tanned, trim and ready.”

Patrick Ishmael should explain why he refuses to put Palin’s name in the list.

Very well, I think you are wearing him down. Just a few dozen more posts and tweets, maybe show up to his condo….

SouthernGent on July 28, 2014 at 7:16 PM

But it is less likely that people will do that, in the same way that “write-in” campaigns are seldom successful.

And even when you do write in a name into the forms here, look how “Other” results get reported:

http://hotair.com/archives/2014/06/16/hot-air-primary-survey-june-results/

You never see what names people wrote in.

Shame on Patrick Ishmael for this sham poll. And shame on Ishmael for ignoring HotAir readers.

bluegill on July 28, 2014 at 7:22 PM

I’ve yet to see an explanation as to why morning Joe and Ms. Rice are included and Sarah Palin is left out. As was pointed out last time, if he includes Palin and she bombs, then it’s a big win for the Rinos and a good reason to leave her out of future polls.

Patrick doesn’t have to include Palin in his polls and I don’t have to participate. However, for me, Hot Air loses a little credibility and honesty with these polls. But then, I’m waiting for him to add Mr. Smith before I’ll vote.

Ibanez Lotus on July 28, 2014 at 7:56 PM

Still seems petty not to include Palin.

I notice the front page pic for this story isn’t Scott Walker again.

Toocon on July 28, 2014 at 8:20 PM

I usually take part in these polls – but, since Hot Air is afraid to include Sarah Palin, I really don’t see the point any more. I won’t be responding to this poll (not that I expect Hot Air to care about what I think or anything).

And the bloggers have ignored readers asking for an explanation. Perhaps you can get an explanation from one of them. Do you have Twitter? Try tweeting them on there. Maybe they will answer you, but they seem more interested in chitchatting with each other than in responding to readers.

bluegill on July 28, 2014 at 10:34 PM

State, area code and zip code are required. But do any zip codes, or area codes, cross state lines?
Doesn’t that make the state question redundant?

No and no.

But time zones can cross those boundaries… ;-)

I am not third rate!

I actually do follow Ishmael.

I’m sure, you are probably in the bushes outside his house now waiting to spring out and hit him with your purse for not including Sarah Palin in is web poll. “Shame” and all that. He should be home any time now and you can hit him like Ruth Buzzi.

Try again, clown.

Why? This is evidentially still happening.

How pathetic that you have to fabricate stuff like that in order to try to get a rise out of people.

He just tweeted, he has a spare blender. We need Tiki torches though if anyone else is reading.

Sorry it bothers you so much that HotAir readers aren’t happy about the site refusing to list Palin’s name in the survey choices.

I’ve wasted a warm summer day on the subject yelling “shame” at people. Sorry, that was a “fabrication” on my part. To do so would be a bit unhinged.

Why does it bother you so much?

I’m positively hysterical about it. Oh wait, it’s a web poll that signifies nothing and if I wanted to I could write Palin’s name in. You are going full on Ron Paul supporter on it.

V7_Sport on July 28, 2014 at 11:52 PM

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you are just that.

Sweetheart, I may not have always been a huge supporter of Palin (though lately I have grown fonder of her and have very much appreciated her efforts against amnesty), and it is the principle here that really bugs me. Whether you would vote for Palin or not, any honest person would have to admit that she should be included in a survey of HotAir readers’ presidential choices, especially given her obvious popularity among the HotAir readership (see previous survey results).

Maybe trolls like V7_sport expect very little from the editors at this site and see purposeful and unwarranted poll snubs like this one as just peachy, but I think readers are right to demand better.

And as for spending a summer day on this, I do all of my commenting from my iPhone. Not hard for me to do commenting poolside while simultaneously sipping a lemonade slushy.

OK, I’m not a practiced troll. Guilty. Thing of it is, one needn’t be to poke that bee in your bonnet.

Sweetheart,

Stop hitting on me. It’s become embarrassing.

Whether you would vote for Palin or not, any honest person would have to admit that she should be included in a survey of HotAir readers’ presidential choices,

She hasn’t been in office since 2009. She hasn’t made any suggestion that she’s running. You can still write her in to this INTERNET POLL!

Maybe trolls like V7_sport expect very little from the editors at this site and see purposeful and unwarranted poll snubs like this one as just peachy, but I think readers are right to demand better.

Expect? I’m grateful they put up with me and you might want to adopt the same attitude. Further, at any time I can turn the channel. The idea that this was purposeful and unwarranted is weird. As is the importance that you are giving it.

V7_Sport on July 29, 2014 at 1:12 AM

The idea that this was purposeful and unwarranted is weird.
V7_Sport on July 29, 2014 at 1:12 AM

So… they put up a poll, multiple commenters send in suggestions that a previous poll winner should be included, and state this in comment sections over a couple months… and you state the exclusion is likely not a “purposeful” act.

That’s what you’re going with? Really?

Hahaha…

Oh, & I see this poll is still open over a day after it went up. Made it to 2,000 votes yet, Patrick?

Jazz Shaw is the only one who responded to inquiries about why Palin was excluded. So, thank you to Jazz. He said he didn’t have an explanation for why Palin was omitted, and that we ought to contact Ishmael. Unfortunately, Ishmael ignores readers who write him, apparently.

Mary Katharine Ham also chose to ignore. Disappointing.
